There were years of this war that the senshi of doves hated to admit she was missing in her records. Phact might have been a senshi for a long time but she knew others had been at it far longer. The problem was very few of them still seemed to be around. In a way, it was almost understandable to her that those who had seen the darkest times had in turn left this war. After all, from what the few she had found had told her...things were...nasty... Tonight she was on the roof tops of the city, leaning back and gazing at the stars. It had been a long time since this bird had stretched her wings so now, she just wanted the night air all around her. It was also a good way to keep a sensor out in all directions if she had to unrelax and take action. "Peaceful nights make me wonder what is really going on in the underworld..."

It was another long night ahead for the senshi of the kraken, and this time, she came prepared with coffee. She'd spent most of the day interviewing potential staff, and staring at her computer, grumbling over Skype, and altogether trying to be a businesswoman. All mature and maternal and grown. It was a cloth she had to wear sometimes. Jada had always believed the war wouldn't last forever, but the problem was... It was lasting so long. Eventually one side would bend. Eventually the other side would win the field, wouldn't it? But how could it be the side she was on? Was Scylla the only one who was losing hope? Who, even though she was willing to fight the war, longed to be in a position to change it? Make a difference in it, one way or another? How did you galvanize a splintered faction with no leader, who was settling into a defensive strategy of 'survive to the next night, and save who you can'? IF that was even still the strategy. A strategy. She paid attention to auras these days, since she had encountered so few senshi on her late nights this winter. It was unlike years past, when she'd had her Court. When she'd had her friends. So when she sensed an aura, Order, she followed it, easily moving through the snow in her warm wrap, bouncing from ground to roof, and rooftop to rooftop with increasing ease, as she remembered how to move. How to use the abilities her homeworld gave her. Peaceful nights make me wonder what is really going on in the underworld... Scylla heard the words as she landed on the rooftop, and blinked. "Underworld as in Grecian Hades-style, or Underworld as in the seedy underbelly of Gotham?" It was, she supposed, as good an introduction as any.

The sound of a voice made Phact turn in surprise. She had ignored the pull of an aura so the fact this one materialized in front of her, or rather behind her, scared the senshi of doves. Several blinks and she realized the woman was friend...no foe... Even with the dark wings on her backside. Odd. She had never seen anything but white outside of Prince Castor's black ones. "I think it this case, both. Though I think if you count Metallia and the Negaspace, it's more the Underworld where Hades reigns. If you lean more towards the press, we are the underbelly of Gotham. Though I have yet to meet anyone afraid of bats." Rising up, she turned fully around this time. "I do not believe we have had the pleasure. Phact, senshi of doves."

She seemed to have startled the other senshi, so Scylla dropped her shoulders, making herself as open and friendly as she could; even though the other woman seemed to relax and respond to her with a certain sense of humor. Good. Taking in the other senshi, she lifted her eyes when the woman spoke. Both. She chortled softly, shifting her weight from one leg to the other. "I'm Scylla, senshi of the Kraken, and I'm more than happy to pretend I am afraid of bats, if you like." Phact rose, and Scylla stapped forward, holding out her hand. "To be honest, I'm familiar with the press and Greco-Roman mythology, but a little less familiar with comics. I can't speak to Gotham, but seedy underbellies is kind of where we're forced to hang out for our night jobs." a single, well-manicured eyebrow rose.

It was a small jab at the Batman reference but it still made Phact's grin grown as she shook the other woman's hand with a warm embrace. Not to hard, not too soft. They were senshi after all...not men fighting over territory. "Unless they were some really big bats, like the ones that showed up last Halloween, I don't think many of us would be scared of them. But, I could be wrong! A giant spider has made it so the little things do make me shiver at least." It was playful banter back and forth a bit but even so, her speech made Phact curious. "I'm not the best with the comics but between the movies and google, I'm not sure I want to be. But the general idea is there." Phact released Scylla's hands with a soft shrug. "Evil doers think they can get away with things in the night. People in strange costumes that reference animals and other creatures show up to fight them. Bit more Gotham there in my understanding. At least as far as I know, very few have walked away alive from Hadas' underworld. " She knew the general myths. Would never say she was fluent in them by any means. Enough interest had been peaked to at least read a book or two. "Though that does beg the question...I didn't see any Cerberus like creature or a River Styx when we went into Negaspace last year."

"I will pass on the really big bats, and the living Aragog." two things she was glad to have on her 'missed' list. "Actually, I have heard horror stories of bats getting tangled in hair and let's be honest, that is not what I want to have to deal with." Scylla released the other woman's hand with a grin, cupping dark curls protectively. "My sister is the comic geek, and the internet geek, and the 'hip' one between the two of us." Scylla grinned, thinking of Zora. "But I think you are right. Evildoers, aliens from space, magical superheroes and very rich commoners with a goal- if you think we won't have an Iron Man showing up in his mecha suit, you are way behind on your pop culture." she clicked her tongue. As for the underworld... Pursing her lips, she considered. "Death likes to keep its trophies. Hades is a selfish god, but perhaps for the best. I wouldn't compare the Negaverse to Hades. They are the Titans, large, deadly, and uncaring where they step." Set them free, and they would destroy everything

A gloved hand came up and lightly smacked her forehead. Phact learned ages ago tiara and face palming did not go well. "The Titans. I always forget about that entire chapter. A shame really for the importance they play...." Letting her hand drop to brush her hair back, Phact had to give an innocent shrug of apology. "But we have never had the pleasure Scylla. I know there are countless members of the White Moon I have not met personally but I haven't even laid eyes on you at some of the larger...gatherings." Larger hell holes might have been a better term for it but she would play nice. This was an eternal senshi after all. "And I think I would have remembered one of the few senshi with wings of such a lovely color."

"The Titans are forgotten by many. Apart from Prometheus and debatably his brother Epimetheus, how many of them can still be named and remembered as Titans instead of just Olympian gods?" Scylla raised her brow, wondering how many of them this Phact could name. The original twelve would be a given, probably; so many senshi bore the names of Titans, that it was possible she would get them all- and their children. Then again, when had the difference been named? Between god and Titan- why did the Titans seem to end at that second generation, when the Olympians overthrew their father? It was something that interested her, but she'd never taken the time to research it. Nor would she, while this poor soul was talking to her. "There are quite a few I haven't met as well. I haven't spent much time around of late, much less at one of those boring ********." Phact might be correct to call them gatherings, but she'd always found them a bit of a misery. "Every time I go to one, people talking over each other trying to be the special snowflake going to utter the right words and somehow save us all." Her snort may make clear her opinions on that. "Though flattery will get you anywhere." she shifted, waggling her deep blue tentacle wings at the other senshi. "I'm rather glad I didn't wind up with the fluffy white things. They wouldn't have fit me well."

Hearing the snort in Scylla's tone drew a sense of relaxation to Phact's body as she felt herself chuckle at the wagging behind. "No. They would not have suit you at all. Frankly I think they would have done you a disservice." It was then she looked down at her own fuku and then back at the woman. "However I have a sneaking feeling if I ever get them mine will be very white. I can't seem to escape the color. Thankfully whoever does the uniform dry cleaning is good with bleach." "However, I must admit that is both a shame and a relief to hear that gatherings of order have always been....a ********." She had no shame in saying it now that she had heard Scylla's short view on them. "Too many differentiating views and too many egos getting in the way." She rolled her eyes then. "So allow me to be nosy then. What brought you back?"

"maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have a nice touch of red to set off all the white?" or help hide the blood- there were multiple kinds of people. "Family brought me back." Scylla's lips quirked wryly. "Believe me, it would have been little enough problem to stay far away from this place, but I have family who deserves to get to live here, who needs support. So I came back for them. Silly, perhaps." She stared up, watching the stars, considering. "I suppose I didn't have to henshin to be in the town, but once I'm back, how else am I going to spend my time? Terrorism is shutting down almost all the fun evening events, it seems."

"Not silly at all." Phact felt herself also look up to the stars above them. To think that each of those stars might have been a world at once...lord that is alot of senshi. "In fact I think it is very telling of your character that you would come back to support your family in their decision." Red eyes flickered back to gaze at the woman's face. She was older than Phact, and clearly something appeared to be bothering her even if she did look somewhat amused. "Truer words there were never spoken. Regarding the acts of terror that seem to be putting a halt on the city's events I mean." Now Phact gazed not upwards but out towards the city. Her arms crossed in front of her chest and she let out a rather long sigh. "It's been a long time since even charity events have gone untouched by terror's hand. So much so that I think people are starting to get nervous finally. Most used to say 'better to keep living then give in.' Now...not as sure." She trailed off for a moment but finally tried to smile. "But, I have to say that I don't think I could walk away. It's strange. Once you awaken to this life, all you want to do is let it go. And the one thing you can't do is just that. The veil is lifted and unless we could magically find a potion to forget everything, I don't believe any of us could walk away forever. It...changes a person."

In their decision. Scylla flicked her eyes up, considering the two six-year-olds she was here for. Who deserved to grow up in their family home. Who deserved to get to know what little they can of their mother, their grandparents legacy. To enjoy flailing through the small mansion, traipse over the property their maternal siblings had always known. She was denying them their father, protecting them from a monster, but she could give them this. "Next thing you know instead of the game being The Floor is Lava, it'll be The Floor is Youma." Scylla let her lips quirk for a moment longer, then gave a soft sigh. She couldn't blame a single person who gave up and moved away. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, after all. They moved away for the safety of family, for a future with someone they loved, because the sheer amount of deaths and comas were due to a seething mass of serial killers hunting for souls. not just lives. Take a star-seed, and take all the potential that they had been once, that they could be in the future. "It's better to hide than surrender, I suppose, but hiding will only get you so far if there is no one to fight." Unfortunately. But the other woman was brave- already looking to the future. To her wings. "It does change us," she agreed. "I walked away for a while. I-" she had walked away. Found a bit of a career. Realized that she had lost everything she wanted, and found it only briefly to lose it again. "I might take that potion to forget, some days. There are things this life demands of you, and it would be awful nice to forget I wanted them." Clearing her throat, she shuffled in place. "Anyways, I- I was just- bouncing by to be social." Scylla had said more than she meant to, and now it was... awkward.

Phact looked back at the woman, her head shaking slowly as she heard the clearing of her throat. "I think for some people, that would help them. For others, we have to move forward to not look back." Phact smiled. The later was her. Over the years she had made mistakes. She had cried over them, hated herself, regretted then accepted. Every mistake shaped who she was today...shaped the path she was on. All that was unclear was the destination. "I think the floor is youma could be a very amusing game." Phact finally smiled again, seeing that Scylla was growing uncomfortable. "At least when you jump from the coffee table to the bookcase. " The look on her face said that there was a story behind that notion....ouch. "But for all it is worth, Scylla, your return is a blessing and a gift. At least in my eyes. And I pray that I will see you more often."

"Some people... yes." Some people were much stronger, in very different ways, than Jada herself. Some people could look to the future and not see a million ways things had already gone wrong, and apply those precedents to the future. An optimistic outlook, where things could change with the right criteria. She'd had that once. Now... well. It was the differences in their side that gave them the potential to be strong if they could only work together.
She'd done that once- the coffee to bookcase thing. She'd been a cat- it hadn't ended well. "I've never actually played the game," she said after a moment, "but I've watched the videos. It looks like the most... unique game." Jada could only imagine what would happen when the twins discovered it. They would be climbing more curtains than the cat.
Phact called her return a gift, though, and Scylla bit her lip, shifting. Considering. "Well," she said after a moment, "Thank you. I hope the gift doesn't turn into a curse." her smile now was smaller, but genuine. Jada wasn't sure her presence had ever really been called a blessing.
It was nice, not to be dreaded.
"I'm sure you'll see plenty of me around, causing problems."

"I do hope so." Phact said with a slow nod. The woman clearly seemed uncomfortable and for that she mentally apologized. Maybe she had bought up a memory best left dead. "Scylla, if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to call. My friends and I will always be there to assist."
