Alice needed some feathers for her next costume, So she'd headed to the closest Abraham Creative Arts and Crafts Store. Largely because she'd had the brilliant idea for her next Ren Faire costume, and it was going to be epic. "Okay so . . . feathers, feathers . . . ."
She paused in front of the Aisle with leather crafting materials thinking. "Oh right! I need some leather for this too!" She headed down that Aisle hoping to find what she needed for the binding of the staff she was working on.

Cassie had an unquestionable love for craft stores. She was wide-eyed and beaming as she headed into Abraham's, a semi-regular in the store. She had a few ideas rolling around in her head for some possible DIY desk organizer projects--and a new way to spiff up her cork-board above it--and began to wander the aisles, a basket on her arm already sporting a few packs of hot glue gun refills, hooks, and new stationary additions for her collection.
Hearing someone suddenly proclaim, "Oh right! I need some leather for this too!", Cassie blinked and looked towards the bright-haired girl now heading into the leather-working aisle. Curious beyond belief, she followed tentatively, offering a smile and a small wave as she tried to get the other girl's attention.
"I'm so sorry, this is totally rude of me to eavesdrop but um... what do you need leather for? I mean, if you don't mind sharing your project? I haven't really been able to get the hang of working with leather so curious what people use it for." She hoped her explanations worked, anyways, and she felt heat creeping into her face at how rude she was being by intruding like this....

Alice paused and turned her head to look at Cassie owlishly. She must've been talking out loud again. She chuckled and laughed. "OH, well I'm working on a staff. For one of the renfest costumes I'm working on for this year's festival."
She hummed, "It's never too early to get ready right? I've been largely uh, doing binding and tiny things. It's not been like huge and elaborate stuff that I've done. I usually start small until I get use to doing the thing, and then work on a larger scale. Smaller it is less horrible you feel if it doesn't come out the way you want it."
Alice laughed a little. "I mean after all binding on where you hold the staff, isn't a horrible lot of leather, but it still needs to look some what nice right?"

Cassie was probably pretty close to having sparkles in her eyes when the other girl talked about her project. "What sort of theme are you focusing on, or what sort of character are you going as?" She loved going to renfaires, though it'd been a little while since she'd been able to go to one.
Partially because she hated arguments with people about how little archaeological evidence existed for a lot of the things people tried to claim were fact. But that was besides the point.
"That's a good way to do it though, with the smaller scale and work up! I mean, how else would anyone learn?" She looked around the aisle, trying to figure what products would work best for such endeavors though. Having no real idea, she looked back to the other girl with a laugh. "So... what would you grab for a project like that? Oh, I'm Cassie by the way!"

Alice laughed, "Well, I usually do a fairie or something similar. As I'm often one of the storytellers at the faire."
She paused looking at the sorts of leather they had in stock, "I'm currently working on a staff for one of the warlocks I believe. We have a witches and warlocks theme one weekend this year. Also a time travelers, but ya'know who's gunna show up."
She sighed, "I'll stick to my fairies I need a staff too though for my Mab nights . . . I haven't played her."
She paused when the other introduced herself. "Nice to meet you Cassie. I'm Alice though my friends call me Bela." She hummed picking up some black, dark brown and some white leathers. Tapping her chin with them. "I've got a few different wood staves on order with a few different designs. So I got to make sure I make each one different enough. . . . " Granted the white leather was going to need dying. "I think the dye's on the next aisle with the gli- - - Alice was cut off when screams came from the next aisle over and some obvious growls. . . . wonder what that could be?
