The tides were turning. Tarni sat at the edge of the water and watched as the waves crashed in to the gentle sand. She had seen the sea in turmoil a few times in her life, she had even been alive when the tsunami had rocked the land, but this turmoil, it was gentle. Perhaps a storm was on its way. The usually blue waves seemed ominously gray.
The young hlare got to her paws and shaking her head moved off towards the jungle trees that kissed the edge of their watery home land. If there was a storm coming she would prepare some poultices for colds. It seemed like a good idea. Tarni nodded to herself at her foresight. Growing up by the sea, it was a blessing, she could at least read the waves a little.

Leviyathan limped out of the trees, her left forepaw hurt, a lot, she had been in for a little hunt, just something to fill her belly that wasnt fish for a change. She loved fish, the salty flavour and oils kept her fur lovely and soft and glistening. It was just every so often she wanted some red meat and so she had ventured in to the trees for a bit of hot blooded hunting. Unfortunately the little monkey she had been chasing lead her through a thicket of bramble and now she was limping.
She guessed she had managed to get a thorn in her paw, or just maybe she had fallen on it in an unusual manner, either way she was now limping which was going to make her work and her daily chores most uncomfortable.
Hopping over a fallen log, trying to keep her forefoot elevated, she almost toppled in to the teal lioness. "Sorry!" She exclaimed moving out of the females way. "I wasnt watching where I was going."

Tarni paused a surprised look crossing her face as the dark lioness nearly collided with her. She smiles her deep teal eyes looking the lioness over. "Are you okay?" She tilts her head looking the lioness up and down carefully. She was a member of the pride, she knew that much, even though there had been a lot of comings and goings of lions and other creatures through the bahari of late she knew that this lioness was a member of the pride. Her father had told her about the sea marked lioness whom guarded the borders, usually at night.
"I'm sorry, I don't know your name." She whispers "I'm Tarni, daughter of Poseidon." She want really sure why she announced herself thusly, it wasnt like she needed to tell anyone who her father was but it was a force of habit, she had heard some of her more zealous siblings reeling off their whole heritage in the past. She was after all from a long line of sea-lions.

Leviyathan looked at the lioness for a quiet moment. She wasnt much good at striking up conversations but as she had almost bowled over the teal lioness she felt she owed her at least a few words of thanks and her name "My Name is Leviyathan." She smiles a little tilt in her lips, she knew Poseidon, she also knew his father and her niece, they were all members of the guard, it was good to know those faces.
"I know your father, he is a very good guard." She nods an affirmative turning her attention to the other question that had been posed to her. "I hurt my paw, hunting up in the jungle. Nothing a good clean and a lie down won't fix though."

Tarni chuckles "Most do, I have a large family and most of them at hard to miss." She smiles her family had always lived in the bahari, or so it seemed, she knew that wasnt technically true as her grandfather came from the pridelands and her grandmother came from the firekin.
The teal lioness moved forwards and tilted her head "Let me look, I can help." She smiles and holds out her paw "I'm a Mwani so you should let me have a look."

The dark lioness took a step back as Tarni approached her. She had never been big on having her personal space invaded. When Tarni Explained she was a Mwani, that didn't really make it much better. "Its okay really. I will see to it myself. I was a rogue for a lot of years so I leaned to take care of the little things."
"Thank you though, I don't mean to be ungrateful."

Tarni looked at the dark lioness. She pondered what it was like being a rogue. She'd been pondering that a lot recently, wondering what it was like outside of the pride she had been born in to. It was just never enough to push her over that edge.
"I understand but you aren't a rogue any more you should let others help you." She smiles hopefully nudging herself forwards again and holding out her paw.

Leviyathan sighed lightly and nodded her head she lifted her aching paw and put it in to Tarni's "I know you're right. Its just hard, I was a rogue for so long, its hard to rely on others." She let out a huff and smiled at Tarni.
"I'm sorry, I trust you okay?" She laughed quietly and waited patiently while Tarni checked over her foot.

The teal lioness chuckled and held the other lionesses paw. She played with the toes and tilted her head, blowing the fur away so she could see the skin underneath. "i think, You've broken a toe." She shakes her head and pulls some dry seaweed from the bag around her neck.
She binds the dark lionesses paw. "I know you won't want to, but you should really take at least a week off this thing. It will hurt for longer if you run around on it."

The dark lioness shakes her head. "At least its not a thorn." She smiles earnestly, she was going to have to shirk her dueties it seemed. "Thank you, for helping me and for insisting on helping me." She chuckles. "I promise to rest it."
"Are you going in to the jungle?" She paused, she wanted to offer to go with her, but she realised the Mwani would probably out right refuse. "I suppose, I should go and rest."

Tarni nodded "Yes I'm going to gather some herbs for the Hlare, I think theres a storm coming." She smiles at the dark lioness, she seemed to be at least a little sensible, going to rest. "I'll tell my grand father you need some time off."
The teal lioness stretched her paws and hops over the logthat had almost caused their collision. "It was lovely meeting you. I'm sure we will talk again."

The sea marked lioness nodded. "Thank you Tarni, good luck with your search." She calls looking for a moment at her bandaged paw she decided to keep her leg lifted and make her way back to the dens. If a storm was brewing she wanted to be inside and out of the rain before it hit.
"Thank you." She sighs hopping off down the beach to the comfort of the dry dens.
