The pictures of various camp style barbecues and huge breakfast buffets were mouth watering and everything Jason could of hoped for, but it was obvious someone would be needed to cook said food, and he was a little skeptical they even had half the ingredients on those pictures. So when it came time to volunteer for kitchen duty he was only to happy to put his hand up. Because he was hungry and wanted some decent food, and by jove he would cook it himself to make sure! He headed to the kitchens, peeking his head in to see it was like, and who else had volunteered. "Hello?" He called out, curious as to what he would find and who else had turned up, and praying there were enough ingredients to work with.

Stepping out from beside a standing oven, a large hunter trainee walked in holding three bags of potatoes in his arms. His mass of black hair braided down his back had only one hair net at the end while the top of his head had two barely serving any use on either side of his hair. Staring, he set the bags down beside a table and cracked his shoulders.
"Sup." He said. A apron was stretched to it's breaking point across his chest only covering half of him. "You a cook?"

...Woah. This guy was huge. Jason's eyes grew wide at the trainee who greeted him, The mass of hair that even three hair mats couldn't restrain creating a wild look, though he didn't want to be intimidated right of the bat by someone he didn't know. Nor did he want to be impolite by staring, which he already was doing. Guy was holding three sacks of potatoes for crying out loud! "Y-y-yes!" God dam his nerves and his stutter. "Yes I am, I came to volunteer." He stepped into the kitchen, grabbing a spare apron hanging on the side which fit his frame perfectly. "Need some help?" He indicated to the sacks he was holding. "I haven't looked at the menu yet, but I can cook most things w-without too much problem. T-thats if we have the food items needed." He glanced at the shelves as he fitted a hair net over his own hair. "I g-guess it involves potatoes?" "O-oh, I'm Jason by the way, whats your name?"

This brows furrowed as he stared back at the stuttering hunter. The guy looked about his age, but lacked any facial hair and his small pony tail might be considered long by most men but not as close to the floor as Kai's currently dangled. However, at the mention that he could cook, the trainee beamed back a row of white teeth. <******** if I should know what's on the menu. I was just told to bring this stuff in."
Heading over, he offered a hand out to him. "Kai Conway. What can ya make?" Cause if it was good, he wanted to be there when it was done.

Whelp, no set menu, which meant they could do whatever they wanted. Nice. Jason took Kai's offered hand and shook it in a firm grip. "As long as it isn't a complicated recepie I can make it, and I haven't burnt anything yet which is good." Now it was time to think of things to cook. " Since we have so many potatoes...Hmm. Well we could do a potato salad, a potato bake...umm..." The hunter walked off, tossing out suggestions as he examined what they had, pulling out utensils as he went. " Mashed potatoes is a given, we could always cut some up and make chips, I think theres a fryer back there. Now lets see if they have any....aha!" He exclaimed in triumph as he opened a freezer door and pulled out half a dozen rashes of bacon. "They stocked the freezer for once! Half the time they forget and you're left with 2 minute noodles. They even got sausages here. " It appeared he wasn't the only one set on decent camp food. Stashing his prize on the counter he bent down, opening a cupboard underneath and puled out a giant pot. "Was there anything you wanted to eat?" He asked, going about filling it with water. "Or did you want to make something s-specific?"

He smiled back and gave a firm handshake back. "Wish I could say the same. I had to get rid of my fire alarm at my old apartment." It had kept going off that he decided being less annoyed was better than having the safety of possibly knowing there was a fire out there he didn't cause.
Releasing, he watched as the man zoomed about the kitchen, already seeming to have a million plans all of which Kai agreed with. "Nope! I only know how to boil noodles. Whatever you said. All those things. So whatever I can do to help with that."

Hearing Kai casually talk about ridding his apartment of a fire alarm was.. a little distressing"...O-oh. W-well, t-thats okay! T-these things happen" It became obvious the trainee was not a cook, but it would not deter Jason. "I can help you. S-show you some techniques-" He paused, lifted the heavy pot filled with water. "Just takes...a little practice-" With a grunt he set it on the stove. "There! Just g-gotta follow the recipes and watch what you're doing." With his offer to help the Moon smiled. "A-any help is appreciated. I-if you want, could you focus on the potatoes for me? Just gotta turn the heat up, then wait till the water is boiled, then add them and turn the heat down. I'll focus on the bacon. We can start with the salad first. t-thats pretty simple." Plus boiling potatoes was similar to noodles. The premise was the same, at least. He went to fetch a pan and some oil. "I-i'll be right here if you need be, just g-give me a shout!"

"Alright. I can do that." He dragged over a trash can and started looking through drawers with a clatter of silverware until he found a potato peeler and found a large bowl. Sitting down, he tore the top of the potatoes open and started to peel.
"So what group are you in? I'm Sun."

Soon enough, there was the sound of sizzling meat in the air, and the scent of bacon to accompany it. It was a good smell, and it was soon accompanied by the smell of sausages, as a second pan had been placed on the stove and filled with oil. He was gonna cook two things at once, since it was faster that way. "Sun huh?" Jason replied. He figured it would suit Kai well, or he hoped it would at least. "I'm moon. Do you know much about the divisions?" He wasn't sure what the new trainees were being taught these days.

"Not really. Kinda woke up and came here. Haven't gotten a manual or talked to the group I'm supposed to be a part of. Just whoever around."
He took a deep breath to take in the smell of breakfast and was already planning to take some of whatever fit cooked first.
"You been here long?"

"Do you know who to speak to?" Jason asked, pulling out a few plates and more pans. "I can show you where your division leader is. H-he's really nice, but very...enthusiastic." He had great respect for Allan, but sometimes he could be a little too energetic and hard to keep up with. If it was possible to keep up with him at all. "Suns are all about the offense, so you'll be at the front lines most of the time. You'll also get more experience in weaponry then other divisions." He was cracking a few eggs open in a pan as he continued on. "Moons are more defensive. We usually back suns up, try to keep them from getting hurt. We also specialize in first aid and infirmary care, or setting up and fortifying bases." "I've been here a few years actually. Managed to get to a full rank a few months ago. It's taken me a while...." He mused, already cooking more eggs while managing the meat, and even fetching another pan. "I'm trying to specialize in the infirmary more, perhaps filling a role more like Dr.H. Though it will take a very long time..I'm not sure if I'll succeed either, but I enjoy the infirmary work just the same." He looked over. "How are the potatoes going?" He was getting a few plates out now. "W-would you mind boiling some eggs? It's fine if you don't want to." He spoke as he was looking for the flour, mumbling about pancakes.

"Nope. Haven't talked to no body that hasn't come up to me first." He leaned over to tilt the bowl he was keeping the peeled potatoes and showed Jason.
"I met a doctor. Skinny white dude with blonde hair."
"I can bowl water." He said, getting up and setting the peeler down. With a bit more ease, he found a large pot and filled it with water before turning on the heat. "How many eggs?" He said as he started to take out a few cartons.

"Skinny white dude with blonde hair...that might be Sunny" Jason mused out loud. He was the only other person on the island he would address as a doctor. "He;s pretty good, knowledge too, He's the one I asked for specialization. Or maybe it could be Simon, but he's not a doctor." Now he was whisking some more ingredients for pancake batter because why not. "Speaking of doctors, y-you'd be best to avoid Dr.H. He's the leader for life division and he is...quite frankly a really scary g-guy. First time I saw him was in a classroom, and he beheaded someone." He shuddered at the thought. "It was a golem, but non the less very creepy." By now he was plating up the meat, chopping some of it into little bits, while others he just left as is. "Caelius is someone you don't want to be on their bad side. He is deaths lead and he is incredibly easy to annoy, so just avoid him at all costs." He paused in his explanation to plat up some spare bacon, sausages, and a fried egg, then headed over to Kai. "Lets try for a dozen for now, we can boil them hole and add them to the potatoes. Then we just need to cut up some herbs and vegetables. Oh, here you go." He handed the plate to the sun trainee. "Thought you might be hungry."

Kai took the offered plate with wide eyes and a quickly growing smile. "Thanks man!" He said, and set the plate down so he could put a dozen eggs in before putting the rest away.
That done, he went to grab a fork and went right into the plate.
"Right. There's probably a lot of doctors here. Talkin about Dr. Michaels. Nice dude. Has some kids." He shoveled some bacon into his face before chewing and swallowing hard.
"Want me to do anything

Seeing Kai's beaming smile had Jason smiling in return. It felt good to make people happy. "You're welcome" He gave a thumbs up to Kai's peeled potatoes from earlier. More hissing emulated from the stove, as Jason continued to do twenty things at once including adding the pancake mix, chopping up the cooked meats and adding more meat to the pans. He'd have to cook extra for everyone else, but weather or not he'd have enough food or enough time to cook everything he didn't know. It didn't matter too much though; he enjoyed the process, a easy enough task that calmed his nerves and relaxed his mind. "Dr Michaels? Haven't met him, but he sounds p-pretty cool." He stepped away to pull the bubbling pot of potatoes. "These look done...What division is he in?" "When you get a chance, could you help me mix everything together for the salad? It's really simple, just gotta add the bacon and the onion, mustard, and mayo, can't forget that. Just gotta mix it gently." He then looked at the multitude of stuff on the stove. "O-oh, y-you can help out with any of this stuff here too. O-only if you want to of course!"
