βΆππ π¦πΎππΎππΊππππ: The First Generation Dragon Slayers were the original Dragon Slayers, who learnt their Dragon Slayer Magic from an actual Dragon. In most cases, the particular Dragon Slayerβs teacher was also their foster parent, they being so close to a dragon they are able to unlock Dragon Force. they have also been shown to be the only once to posses the ability to obtain a second element since their body has storage for another element unlike second and third which have theirs is filled by lacrima.
β·ππ½ π¦πΎππΎππΊππππ: Those from the second generation of Dragon Slayers have had Dragon Lacrima implanted into their bodies, granting them the ability to use Dragon Slayer Magic. Because they were not taught their abilities by a Dragon, they are considered artificial Dragon Slayers.
βΈππ½ π¦πΎππΎππΊππππ: Dragon Slayers heralding from this generation have both been taught their Magic by actual Dragons and have had their bodies implanted with Dragon Lacrima, Granted gives them a spell called Dragon Drive. Despite not have dragon force their overall magic is slightly more powerful, because of the lacrima which boosts their magical power.

When a Dragon Slayer enters Dragon Force, they effectively turn into a humanoid Dragon, gaining reptilian scales and traits, such as further elongated, and sharper, canines and scale-like patterns on their skin. According to Zero, Dragon Force is the final, most powerful state a Dragon Slayer can attain; granting them power comparable to that which a real Dragon possesses: the power to utterly destroy everything. Dragon Force greatly increases the damage done by standard Dragon Slayer spells, and grants the user access to more advanced, powerful attacks. It also drastically enhances the user's physical prowess, making them far stronger, more resistant to damage, and faster, and considerably boosts their Magic Power, which becomes visible, taking the appearance of a Dragon. When exuded at its fullest, said Magic Power takes on a violent corporeality, likely as a result of the immense amount of Magic power employed. When Natsu Dragneel entered this state through the use of Jellal Fernandes' Flame of Rebuke, his flames gained the ability to burn off offending Magic, even that of Zero's ultimate attack Genesis Zero.

This brings out the true capabilities of a Dragon Slayer. It's pretty much a less advanced version of Dragon Force. This enhances the user's physical prowess, along with their speed, making them almost two times better. When this ability is used, the user will be surrounded by an elemental aura of their own element, making it seem as i they are possessed by a phantom of sorts. This "shield", or aura, emulates very powerful energies of their element. In other words, anyone that gets close to the user will suffer various consequences, making it like a defensive form. The user receives peak physical ability, and enters an enhanced state of speed and awareness. This form is said to be the true "power that kills Dragons". It's possible to perform completely new spells, along with greatly enhanced versions of them, while in this form.
Available to 3rd Generation Slayers only

Only a few Dragon Slayers have obtained the ability to consume elements other than their own, allowing them to combine both elements inside their bodies and enabling them to utilize the properties of both, as well as increasing their own destructive capabilities. This is very dangerous though, and as a repercussion, completely exhausts the user after usage.

Dragon King Mode is a unique ability granted unto a Dragon Slayer by Dragon Kings of various elements. Utilizing the residual, inert Magic Power of the dragon soul that resides within the Dragon Slayer, a draconian tattoo appears on their arm that serves as the physical manifestation of the aforementioned Magic Power; this power took someone like, Natsu Dragneel, who is extremely powerful in his own right, ten months of dedicated training to master. As a result of the sheer volume of the Magic Power itself, before even properly utilizing the power to its fullest, the user radiates an incredible amount of their element, and their speed and power drastically increase to levels that allow them to fight toe-to-toe with beings as incredulously powerful as Zeref, and even completely destroy forbidden, powerful Magic such as Ankhseram Black Magic. When the Magic Power is exerted to its maximum, in a radius expanding meters, the ground, air, or sky itself suffers various consequences depending on the user's element, and the user becomes cloaked in their element that roughly resemble a silhouette of the Dragon King they learned this power from; the mode is said to be the manifestation of the Dragon King's undying will. However, the Magic Power bestowed is extremely finite, and once it runs out, the user must draw power from another Dragon Soul to use it again.
