Things had been going surprisingly well recently, if the senshi of doves let herself admit that. She had a wonderful group of people around her and even though she and her parents had not been seeing eye to eye recently, they had finally come to accept that she was not going back to school for awhile....at least full time. And not even in fashion design. That passion was becoming more and more of a hobby... Now if she could just explain to her parents they sudden interest in botany. Super Sailor Phact sat on the edge of the fountain in the small park near DCU, gazing up at the night sky. There was a smile on her face though it was soft at the edges. Hard to believe so much had changed....what she wanted out of her life had changed even more than herself. And that was when she felt the tinge of a powered aura at the edge of her senses. Silently she sat for a moment, listening to the sound of the fountain before she rose. Heels clicked on the ground as she followed the sense of the aura and turned a corner to see a male in red. "Hello there. I don't believe we have had the pleasure." Phact spoke calmly as she eyed his back. For now, she kept a small distance to not over whelem anyone. "I am Super Sailor Phact. And you?"

Sailor Caia was generally a good sport about going out in the cold; he wasn't a huge fan of it, but he had a love of fresh fallen snow as much as any child might. Except, he wasn't a child; he was supposed to be griping about the cold chilling his bones and making his back ache.
...Earth snow seemed nice. He kept trying to acclimate himself to the cold temperature, trying to prepare himself for the next trip up to his homeworld.
He was lost in his own thoughts, oblivious to the other senshi until she was almost right in front of him.
"Oh!" he blurted. "Hello! It's nice to meet you!"
He seemed afraid that the distance might be considered rude, so hurried a bit closer and extended his hand, smiling politely. "I'm Caia. I'm so sorry, I was daydreaming! It's such a bad habit. I am so sorry if I intruded, please forgive me!"

"Not at all." Phact offered a smile, taking his hand in a polite hand shake. "I'm sorry if I interrupted you. I'm not used to feeling other order auras around here unless I'm waiting for someone so..." Giving a soft shrug, Phact tried to let her face show just how not offended she was. "I wanted to investigate. It's a pleasure to meet you Caia." "Do you often day dream in powered form?" Now she seemed to let her eyes take on a slightly harder edge. "It can me dangerous when you are alone. Not paying attention could lead to some unfriendly things...Or just some yelling in your face when you run into someone...." Oops!

"I know," Caia said, sounding apologetic and like a scolded child. "I don't mean to do it, sometimes I just can't shut it off. It's gotten me in trouble before, trust me. You'd think I'd have learned by now, but it just happens."
He seemed exasperated and shook his head at himself. "I'm working on trying to make some friends to patrol with. I know it's always safer in numbers, but truthfully, I don't know a lot about how you're supposed to meet up with other Senshi? I've been relying on dumb luck, and that's worked out well for me! ...So far, at least. But I'm hoping that if I can find some more people who maybe want company while patrolling, it'll be okay to zone out some? Or, Ii mean, ideally, having a conversation partner means I won't zone out!"
He grinned and cleared his throat. "That is, unless I talk so much that they start to zone out, then we're not really in a better boat. Less lonely, though!"

Chuckling more to herself, Phact couldn't help feel like laughing around him. It wasn't him that made her feel that way but the ease in which he fell into just being...him. "Well, if you would like a conversation partner for the evening, my schedule is free. Though I'm not very good with sports talk or the latest music trends. I can hold my own in most other things." Gesturing a hand out, she wordlessly invited him to walk with her. "It's harder to meet people than you might think. I've been at this oh..." Holding up a hand she counted. "Four years? And while I know many names and faces, I can't say I really know that many senshi. Let alone knights! Dumb luck has been a good friend to me though. Have you been a senshi long?"

"I would love a conversation partner for the evening," he said, smile renewed. "I don't know much about sports of music, myself," he said, walking with her.
"I haven't been, not for too long. Or, rather--I mean, I suppose it's been about a year? But I haven't been powering up that much." Already he looked apologetic, but explained, "It's hard to balance a normal life with a Senshi life. Plus, my roommate--my brother--his a police officer, and he's super overprotective. Which is nice!" Caia's smile returned and it seemed like he was telling the truth. "Destiny City has a lot of bad things happen, so it makes me feel a little better to know he'll always be looking out for me. But he hates Senshi. Well, no."
He paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to word it. "He hates the idea of people deliberately hurting others and destroying the city. The police get these posting, they call everyone--Senshi, Knights, Negaverse--they can't tell the difference, so they call all of them terrorists, or gang members. We grew up in a crummy part of town, so he's a little extra bitter about gang affiliations. So," he drawled, and then shrugged.
"...I haven't told him that I'm a Senshi, and I've just sorta been sneaking out whenever I can. I don't want him to find out. He'd just worry, and he wouldn't understand. I don't wan to make him mad. So," he shrugged, cleared his throat, and then laughed apologetically. "I'm sorry, that was supposed to be a short answer."

"There are no short answers in this world Caia." Phact chuckled as she listened to him, rather surprised he had finally stopped with that train of thought before it completely went into another direction. There was a moment though when he said 'police officer' that her mind flickered to Jeremy for a split second. But as quickly as it came, it was gone when he spoke about terrorists. "But can you really blame them? Suddenly strange people with strange abilities start showing up in their city and killing each other. It isn't like we can walk in and tell them 'hey! This is a war older than any of us and you are caught in the middle!'. Something tells me we would all be drug tested." She continued to walk with him, smiling calmly as she did. "My parents don't know either. I find that when someone finds out, they don't always react...well?" It was the best she could say as she glanced towards him with a half innocent shrug. "Most come around. But some I think are just scared of the idea of their loved ones suddenly having powers. My parents would lock me away if they knew for my protection. I'm lucky they don't have a GPS on me."

"No, no," Caia answered quickly. "I don't blame him. My brother's always just wanted to keep the world and the good people in it safe. I'm sure he'd understand if I talked to him about it, it's just--I can't really talk to him about it without him worrying. Or, worse, without telling him that I've been lying to him."
Not lying, exactly. Just not telling the truth.
Which, sometimes, was the same thing when you were dealing with a police officer--and family.
"I just...he's all I've got, really," Caia confessed. "If I told him--if he took it badly? ...He's always been the one supporting me. I just don't want to let him down again."
He sighed and shook his head. "Does anyone in your life know? I mean, I know your parents don't, but...do you have other family, or friends, that aren't powered that you've told?"

Phact shook her head. "I don't. Everyone who knows about my two sides is also involved in this war." She sighed. It wasn't one of he proudest things to admit but Phact had never wanted to cause someone the burden of knowing what they didn't need to. Not yet at least. "I keep my identity pretty close to the vest. And I guess, I don't want to worry them. They have enough on their plate and knowing I'm out here fighting isn't a stress I want to cause them." Falling silent for a moment, Phact just let the time pass as she thought. "But you need to do what is best for you Caia. If telling him is important to you, tell him. But do so in a way that makes sure he isn't an agent first."

It relaxed Caia to know—like he wasn’t crazy for keeping it a secret, or like he wasn’t doing the wrong thing. Secrets were hard, but…necessary. Sometimes.
“I don’t know how I’d find out first. Even if he were an agent…” Caia cast an inquisitive look at her and then just sighed. “…If he were an agent, I know I’d be safe. He would never hurt me. The other people in the Negaverse, though.” He clucked his tongue and shook his head. “They might not be so kind to me. I don’t think he’d have joined, though. And—well,” he laughed softly.
“He doesn’t have time to power up. Between work and nagging me, he doesn’t even have enough free time to date. Or,” he scratched his chin. “…That’s what he says.”
It didn’t take long for Caia to laugh; he rolled his shoulders a little and seemed to be a bit more at ease. “I’ll have to think on it more. I will tell him! One day. I just…it has to be the right time, and sometimes you can’t control those things. Maybe I can time it so I rescue him some day. He’d have no choice but to support me, then!”

"Married to his work?" Phact offered with a smirk at the mention of dating. She heard quite a few people use that logic now a days. Even she had started to with regard to her senshi duties. Not like that could be said to her mother when she never brought a date with her to family events. "He seemed like the type to be. " But the idea of Caia having to recuse him? Oh the though made Phact raise a hand to her lips and laugh. "Just make sure you carry him like a Princess if you do. After all, as a senshi, we are stronger than normal humans." Oh she might pay money to see that. "I would just cover your bases though. Maybe drop a hint or something simple? Like over dinner say something about the gangs or running into crazy costumed people carrying weapons. If he doesn't act any different, doubt you have to worry. I have a feeling better safe than sorry..." "Oh! Did you ever get the scent to work that smelled like breakfast?"

Caia opened his mouth to rely but almost immediately looked embarrassed. “…Did he tell you about that? I’m—I’m working on it!” he insisted. “I got something that smelled sort of like bacon, it’s just that it also sort of smells like burning rubber. And I got something that smells like eggs! Except. You know, rotten, so…”
He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. A smile was still on his face and he couldn’t help but laugh at himself. “I’m not proud of it yet, but I’m not giving up! I have to come up with some good smells so Jeremy doesn’t get mad at me. Though, to be honest, I sort of think he likes the smell of burnt rubber or he wouldn’t drive the way he does.”
His lips pursed and he shrugged.
“I’m going to try what you said, though. Dropping some hints and seeing what happens. That’s good advice, thank you!”

Phact couldn't help it. That made her snort. "Lord save whoever ends up in the back of his car then. They might not make it to jail." But she was still smiling...still watching the red and gold senshi very much in a sort of protective way. He had an innocence about him that honestly made her feel a bit of worry. The love Caia had for his brother was there and she knew how Jeremy felt of course. She could now see why he was so protective of him too. "I think I would keep the rotten egg smell though. That could be a good deterrent should any neighbors get annoying. Dump some around their house and say a shunk showed up?" With a twisted, playful smile, she had to be amused at the idea. "And a good way to clean out a room." Reaching up a hand to rest on his should, Phact softened her sly look to a motherly smile. "Anytime I can help Caia. Just ask."

Caia just laughed and shook his head at her suggestion; he was still smiling when she put her hand on his shoulder. He looked back at her, grateful expression planted on his face. “That means a lot to me, Phact, thank you. And—if there’s anything I can ever do, please let me know! I might not be as talented and wise and smart as you, but I like you, and if you ever need anything, I want to help. So, please give me the chance.”
He smiled again; he was relaxed under her touch and whatever worries he’d had before, she had more than helped ease them away.
