It was an understatement to say that Essei was excited about today. She'd been wiggly and distracted all day, much to her teacher's amusement and annoyance. But now finally the day was over and with wings fluttering to push her along, she walked as quickly as she could without being yelled at until she got outside and had to stop to locate Florence. Once she had, she broke into a run and stopped just short of tackling her friend.

"I'm here!" She announced, as if Florence couldn't have possibly have noticed otherwise. She bounced on her feet, wings vibrating and fluttering while her antennae curled and uncurled. "The day was so looooong! I'm so ex-cit-ed!"

Essei bounced along with her hand holding her friend's, happy as a clam and listened to what Florence was saying. "We can have lots of fun!" She stated happily. "I don't know what I'll want to do first." She pondered the problem. "Mmm....look for secret pass-a-ges maybe? But only if we don't wake your dads."

She pat her hair with her free hand and wondered what Florence might have in mind to do with her hair. That was something she pondered only briefly however, and then went right back to thinking about all the fun they could have. Hide and seek was definitely a must, and they could play tag outside. Maybe they could build things! She wished she'd thought to bring some of her toys to school to show Florence, and made a mental promise to do so the next time.

It had been a ridiculously long day. Ever since that one time when he had helped Kindle with her cooking assignment the other juniors had decided that Arinas had been the perfect person to go to when they were having trouble with the cooking assignment. Today they had been working on a strawberry torte thing and since Baking was Arinas’s specialty he had been running around helping everyone. Then of course everyone had decided to gift Arinas with their final product, which led to Arinas having to find some way to carry them all home. Well luckily his family tended to have a sweet tooth so the some odd 15 tortes he now had would hopefully be a big hit.

He didn’t notice any keys hanging up on the rack next to the door but then that normally didn’t mean anything as his family had various times that they all came home. He would call out but with Uncle Morginn and his dad sleeping and getting better, he didn’t want to wake them up.

After placing his … bounty, for lack of a better word, in the kitchen, he used one of the secret passages to pop up to the section of the house most of their rooms where in. Ah it sounded like Fiore and Florence might be home.

“Hey Florence, Fiore I… oh you arent Fiore. Sorry about that, I didn’t know we were having any company over. I ended up with too many pastries today for life skills. Would you guys like some strawberry tortes?”

Florence chuckled and was about to explain that Cosmos was very sweet and curious, and particularly liked being touched, when the sound of a door opening and closing caught their attention. He froze, tilting his head a little to try to better catch the sounds. He heard footsteps, then a familiar purple head poked itself in his room.

"Arinas," he cried out happily, running over and hugging the hybrid around the knees. He turned his head upward and said, "This is my friend Essei from school! She came over to play!" Florence turned his head around to look at Essei, still maintaining a grip on Arinas' legs. Her exclamation over his wings made him grin. "This's my big brother, Arinas! His wings are super fluffy, but you gotta be careful when touching them cause you don't wanna hurt the feathers. He's also really good at making yummy snacks!"

Florence turned his face back up to Arinas. "You got strawberry tortes? Yay!" He released his brother (it didn't matter to Florence that they weren't actually related, everyone in this house was family to him) and almost skipped over to Essei in his excitement. "You're gonna really like 'em! I think anything made with strawberries is super tasty!" He scooped up Cosmos, who was still bubbling around their feet, then gave Essei's hand a gentle tug. "Kitchen's this way," he said, leading them back through the house.

Essei bounced along with Florence, looking around as they headed to the kitchen and once they reached it. This house was bigger than her family's home already and she'd barely seen any of it. It made her very excited, and even when stationary, she wiggled in anticipation not only of the treat she'd been promised, but of the idea of seeing the rest of the home.

"Tortes!" She said, because it was fun to say and fluttered. "Yummy yummy for my tummy! In the tummy goes the yummy!" She giggled and bounced more, with no sign of slowing down. Of course, like most children it was quite likely she ran at high speed until a sudden energy crash, so there was no telling if she'd calm down or suddenly need a nap.

Arinas hid a smile as he watched the two younger children. He himself had never really been that energetic but still, it was nice to watch children being children especially since some of the stuff that had happened lately. However having just practically come from his own childhood he knew standing here in speculation would not go over so well, not when desert was on the line.

He cut two pieces and served them out before going back to check the fridge.
" yeah looks like we have a little bit left. I'll get you a glass. Would you like anything to drink Essei?" Arinas asked as he grabbed glasses for the drinks. Then he realized something and looked at the pitcher of leomade. " uh Florence, I misspoke. All we have left is my lemonade? Is that okay?" He didn't often drink lemonade but when he did it was of course more concentrated so he could actually taste it.
