Anubis greatly enjoyed art, and especially the class! He looked forward to it, finding a sense of peace when engaged in the activities. Seated happily in his seat, he paid full attention to the teacher who was introducing the next project that the class would be getting into. A group project....? Slowly, the little hybrids features grew flat. He wasn't a fan of group work... he liked to do what he wanted in full, without worrying about someone else not pulling their weight! Or seeing his vision.... huffing softly under his breath, he waited to see who he would be paired with, looking around when someone named Marco was coupled with him. Luckily the teacher pointed to each child making it easy to find their partners. Apparently each grouping had to make a display of happiness. Well that seemed simple enough...
Standing up and fluffing out his wings, he walked over to meet Marco, "Im Anubis, your partner for the project."

Marco was happy and chill listening to the art teacher talk about the art project it sounded like a lot of fun. Marco was ready to make a fun pretty mess, he wasn't an accomplished artist by any means but he liked having fun. He was curious when the teacher said it would be a group project, who would be get paired up with?? He turned and saw a rather grumpy hybrid, Marco wasn't worried about who he would be paired up with, he was sure he would have fun either way. Marco smiled at the grump as he was paired up with Marco. "Hey there, I'm Marco." He said cheerfully. "Nice to meet you." Marco went to get the poster board and some art supplies. "So ready to make a messy art project about emotions??" Marco asked cheerfully. Marco was totally ready to blast out the glitter and bright colored paint to represent happiness.

Well... his partner seemed nice enough so far. While Marco went to get the supplies, Anubis went and started to push their tables together. They'd need plenty of work space for the size of the poster after all! He made sure to get the tables perfectly aligned, inching them bit by bit to make them just right. Next were the chairs which he set on either side of the joined tables. There! now they could work from any angle with ease. But at the mention of messy art... his nose wrinkled, and his brows furrowed. Messy...? Shaking his head he hoped Marco was joking... "I think nice and neat is easier to understand." He slowly replied.

Marco tilted his head to the side "How come the teacher said we need to make an art project about emotions, you don't want to make it just happy, sad, mad faces do you?? That sounds kinda boring I was thinking like glitter and bright splashes of color for happiness." He said he really wanted to be creative with this art project, if Anubis couldn't bend a little maybe they could divide the board but that would kinda be cheating they were supposed to work together. Marco looked around the room at the other students that had already started working together.

Brows furrowing, he shook his head firmly, "No of course not. But I don't want to make an ugly mess, either." he retorted with a soft snort. Glitter and bright splashes.... that was so busy! Too much going on. Nose wrinkling up, he shook his head, "Not so much, just a little bit is ok." he replied, trying to keep calm at the idea of an unplanned out design. No something more... meaningful, and expressive in an orderly sort of way. Yes. Nice and precise~ But.... he knew that compromies was important. He'd learned that with having such a large family. Sighing softly under his breath, he looked over to Marco, "we can include some of the glitter. An appropriate amount. And some bright colours for accents. Ok?"

Marco laughed "It's an art project it's supposed to me fun, but since we are a team I'll compromise." Marco said with a grin flipping his dreadlocks back so he could see what he was doing. "Ok how about this your more clear idea with a border of my idea so it's not soo messsy.." Marco drew out the word to watch Anubis wiggle again, he couldn't believe someone's vibe was so harshed by a little mess. He laughed to himself. "I'm sure we can work in both our ideas without driving you up a wall." Marco laughed "Gotta chill your vibe dude, I promise it won't me too messy, little paint glue and glitter around the borders to brighten things up." Marco chuckled

Frowning again, Anubis had just begun to pick out paint colours from what was gathered, when he was called unfun. "Of course art is fun." He huffed lightly, neatly sorting out all the supplies to be organized exactly. Well now he was disliking group projects more and more.... overly fussing with organizing to distract himself. But he continued to listen, despite the bad start, pressing his lips as he let the other child go on. "I am chill." He retorted, dusting the poster board off lightly with a few swipes of his hand. " a boarder would be good." He decided, trying to bypass his being irked to focus on the project fully instead. A small finger pointed to a few areas along the edges, " a few small splashes here and here are fine."

Marco laughed and rolled his eyes this guy was so uptight, Marco couldn't help but wonder what would happen if he splashed some paint and glitter on Anubis. Shake up his tiny square world, but then Marco would likely get in trouble and put in time out or something but he was really tempted. Marco started doing the border and again was faced with the temptation to go against Anubis's orders. Marco was a free spirit paired up with a mini drill sergeant what the heck. Marco put a little bit of bright red paint and gold glitter where it shouldn't be, just to see how Anubis would react. Feigning innocence as he worked.

Focus on the project... just get it done. That's what Anubis had to repeat in his head to keep from getting too ruffled by the other kid. With a breath to calm his thoughts, he began to roll the ideas he had around in his mind for representations of the assigned point of interest. Maybe... a sort of meshing of a few things that made him happy.... And his partner, too. It was a couples assignment, after all. Hopefully that could be moderated like before.... nothing too out of control. So he began to make smooth, long strokes of reds and golds that he'd dipped his paintbrush into, the ribbons graceful like he'd anticipated. There~ a good start~ Now... to add somethings together along the streams.... Some pretty fish maybe! some flowers, oh and maybe some birds!
His eyes flickered over to see what Marco was doing, he managed to note the bit of over extension... but didn't say anything about it. It wasn't that bad... he told himself. Pointing with his hovering paintbrush to the ribbons of colour he'd created, he prompted the other child, "You can put some glitter on these too. Just a little." he emphisized.

Marco rolled his eyes, he didn't want to ruin their project, so it wasn't like he could go so far outside the line that he would cover Anubis' work. So he just started painting little pictures neatly of stuff that made him happy. Once that was done Marco turned his attention to the next box sadness. Marco had been really lucky, unlike a lot of Hallowed he didn't remember being dumped at the orphanage, his first real memory was of the day he was adopted and getting to know his mom and dad being happy. Marco bit his lip and asked Anubis "What makes you sad??"

Working diligently, getting into a groove of painting and requesting a few additions or mindful notes for Marco, Anubis completed his own versions of happiness. He was content with the results! Next sadness... ears twitching from the other freshlings question, he took a moment to really think about that. Well... the most immediate idea he could think of was his family, "being away from my family for too long." He replied. Though he liked time to himself, he had a craving for approval from his parents.... and attention. There were so many siblings, he couldn't lie that he got jealous at times.

Marco nodded "I was adopted, not long ago, so I'm still getting used to having a family and stuff, not having friends made me kinda sad, but then I was adopted and now have a mom and dad." Marco said nodding. "What about rain does that makes your happy or sad?? Or mud?? You seem like a neat clean kinda freshling." Marco teased since Anubis had shot down his idea for a messy wild project about emotions. Though he had to admit that there emotions art board was coming together very nicely it wouldn't take to much more to wrap up the project so they could sit it aside to dry, or use a wind charm to dry their board.

An understanding expression was aimed at Marco. While he personally had been born into a large family, he knew of and had heard of those who weren't so lucky. But it was wonderful to hear that this other freshling had been given the chance to have a family of his own! Ears perking up, he gave a thoughtful look, eyes sliding to the ceiling to really ponder the question, "Mmm... rain is nice. Muds ok, too. Just not on me.." he replied, with the smallest twitch of a smile to the corner of his mouth. Things that made him sad.... Frowning, he gave a light huff, "I don't like my clothes getting dirty, or ruined.." he finally replied. "I had a really nice jacket that got torn.... it was my favorite..."

Marco smiled as he listened to things that Anubis liked and disliked and Marco started to paint some stuff "Oh that works well for sad, I would be really upset too if my sweater got ripped." Marco said nodding and painting a ripped outfit in the sad box. "Ok what should be do for angry?? Want to paint a messy room or something??" Marco asked "Or maybe someone being pushed down??" Marco said making suggestions as to what they could do to represent the next emotion. Anubis and Marco might be very different from each other but in other ways they were the same.

Witnessing what Marco was adding to their collection Anubis had to admit that he liked the direction it was all going. Very nice~ with the suggestions for angry, a quick nod was given in response, "those sorts of things do make me angry." He willingly admitted. A small huff came from him as he could easily recall a dozen bullies he'd seen who messed with other kids... and who he had to give a stern talking to. Ah but... eyes shifting back up to Marco, his head canted inquisitively, " what about you? What are some things that make you angry?"
