 Sakura had been sent by her parents to the sea kingdom to try and facilitate peace. She was frightened yes, since she was sent to a kingdom that she really didnt know much about, and who her kingdom was at war with, well it was terrifying. Still, she knew what she had to do while she was here, she would do all she could to try and bring peace to both kingdoms because it was what was expected of her. She had heard that the King of Thalassia was holding a ball to boost morale and ease the tensions in his kingdom and he was inviting those of the neighboring kingdom to join. While the idea itself was probably beneficial she couldnt help but hear rumors of it being a way to showcase eligable young ladies for the crown prince. She had seen both princes and the princess in passing once or twice as she walked down the halls escorted by protectors that were provided by the sea kingdom for her safety. Standing near the doors to the grand ballroom, Sakura looked at her dress for a moment thinking the red might have been a bad idea. She would probably be the only woman wearing red, and given that she was one of the princesses of the fire kingdom, she would already have attention drawn to her. Taking a breath she straightened up and walked towards the doors that were opened for her. She looked to an attendant and he announced her before she walked down the stairs and into the ball.

  Having heard of the ball hosted by the neighboring kingdom of Thalassia Tasha's mother took this as an event to find a suitable well suitor for her child. Bundling up her "daughter" she brought Tasha to the sea kingdom palace and prepped for the big event. Perhaps some high ranking noble would come and swoop up her little flower, though with her behavior Lady Nicolavi wasnt sure if that would happen. There had to be some man that would want Tasha right? Tasha sighed having been brought to the palace to be paraded for lack of a better term, before a bunch of nobles that were cluless about his actual gender. So the games would start again and once more, he would be rejected once they learned he was a man. Tasha had become accustomed to this situation and he hated it, but he wasnt going against his mother. The day of the ball approached, and when it was time, Tasha was prepped and preened by his mother until he looked every bit like the young lady she wanted to pass him off as. Taking a handful of his gown Tasha walked on the heels he wore with grace having worn them most of his life. He looked to the attendant that was announcing people to the ball room, and stepped up giving his name. It didnt take long for his name to be spoken and he went down the stairs. There didnt seem to be too many people there at the moment and he relaxed for a moment before making his way to a small semi hidden corner in the back of the ballroom where he hoped to spend the evening in peace.  Companions COMPANY Mood MOOD Wearing Formal━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☽ ━━━ Too say Byakuya was bored would be an understatement. He never particularly enjoyed formal events, though he didn't hate them either. They were just another facet of his life. But, maybe today's semi-foul mood was caused by the fact that he knew his mother expected him to search for a potential bride. While he supported the idea of lowering tension, he wasn't exactly fond of his mother's devious nature. But, the most she would get from him was a few conversations here and there because Byakuya wasn't actively searching for a spouse and he wasn't one for dancing; he knew how to dance and he was exceptional at it, but he just didn't like it because it seemed so tedious when his life was already busy with lessons and peace efforts.
But, he would at least attempt to humor his mother. It was important to keep her happy (or, at least appeased) if you wanted to have an easy time at the dinner table. Because, even his father ruled the kingdom, it was his mother who ruled the palace; and, if she wasn't happy, no one was happy.
So, of course Byakuya put on his most charming smile and struck up some conversations with a few noblewomen that had already arrived. They weren't exactly enjoyable, though a few things they said were worth noting, but he was was quick to move on. During his little charade, he noticed a young woman off in a corner who appeared to want to be left alone. If it wasn't for the other guest that seemed to be pestering her, she probably would have been. Frowning, Byakuya walked over to the scene and cleared his throat. "The young lady is quite obviously uncomfortable. Unless you wish to disgrace our kingdom, I suggest you leave her be immediately." The noble turned and appeared ready to retaliate, but he paled and backed off when he noticed who was addressing him in such a way; he wasn't going to dare cross that line with his crown prince. Byakuya looked at the young woman then, observing her. He noticed she was either a citizen of Ventiaus or perhaps one of the few in Thalassia that had been born with blonde hair, but he also noticed something distinctively masculine about the bone structure of her face. He didn't say anything about it, though, and merely offered a comforting smile to his companion. "I apologize for how one of my citizens treated you. I trust you weren't hurt?"

   ❆ •☾•• In one corner of the ballroom stood a young man who seemed like he wanted to be elsewhere. Allister Satomi was the brilliant librarian at Thalassia's Royal Library. But being a close friend of the youngest prince, he was expected to join in the formal event that his kingdom was hosting. He wore a black suit that made him look more like a butler, and his long hair was tied into a ponytail. In reality he didn't dress any differently for the ball than he did normally. At the moment, he was leaned up against a wall in a quiet part of the room. In one hand he held a large book with a royal blue cover. He held in before his face as he investigated it's pages in favor to joining the festivities. He knew that people might think it odd to be reading at a time like this. But to him, it was normal. He was only here for formality sake anyway. That and his appearance was personally requested by Prince Tamlen, who had yet to arrive. ••☽• ❆

The ballroom stood at the other end, and the sound in the hallway echoed well despite the dull roar from the party. Prince Tamlen seemed to be running late to the biggest event of the year. Before preparing, he had felt the need to prepare for a journey that would take place in the morning. This way he wouldn't have to do it later. Tonight he wore an ornate ivory tunic with a gold design sewn into it's hem, and a pair of black silk pants. Over his tunic was a long coat of dark navy blue and a sparkling gold trim. His hair was worn down and intentionally styled to look windblown. The only unusual thing was the golden pendant he now wore around his neck. It had a bright red stone that nearly anyone would recognize as a fire rock. Fire rocks were enchanted stones created by the dragons that gave off a strong heat. They were often used by people in Ignius Aēsma when they would be in a colder area. But this one was changed to do the opposite. It would keep him from overheating in a desert. A similar pendant was given to Princess Sakura to keep her in good health during her time in Thalassia. } :.｡. ☪ ☪.｡.: { Once he finally reached the ballroom, Tamlen sighed. He took a deep breath before entering the ballroom. Tonight was to be a big night. an ambassador from Ignius Aēsma was here to attempt ending the war. Tamlen knew that having her in Thalassia was a bad idea. So he had asked his father about providing an escort for the princess to ensure her safety. True that they may be enemies, but Tamlen felt that allowing the girl to simply die to hands of ruffians at the border would stain far more than just the snow. He looked around for Princess Sakura's escorts, and finally spotted her. His face showed no emotion, and he seemed like he might even be angry. But this was his normal expression. Still, he didn't want to terrify the princess with his icy glare. He made point to soften his gaze. } :.｡. ☪ ☪.｡.: { Tamlen walked up to Princess Sakura in a friendly manner. He gave her a light bow that only bent his shoulders and his head towards her. "Excuse me. You are Princees Sakura of Ignius Aēsma, correct? My name is Tamlen Thalassa. I am the second prince of Thalassia." He nodded lightly after he spoke. "I trust our escorts have served you well? It pleases me to see that you have arrived safely." In the distance he could see his elder brother mingling with a Ventiausian noble. He looked back at Sakura. "I sent a pendant to you with magic that should keep you warm. The weather is much warmer this time of year, but I was worried it might still be too much for you. How are you holding up?" There was a hint of concern in his voice, but not in his eyes. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't convince his gaze to be gentle on her. Even now, he felt the need to be on guard, being so close to someone who was from an enemy land. A jeweled sword hung by his hip. Chell stepped into the ballroom, eagerly scanning the area with her eyes. It was all so grand. The food, the dancing, the music; it had been a long time since her last ball, so she was going to enjoy it as much as possible. She wished she could have brought Gabriel, though. Her pet lobster was a great dancer...despite having several left legs. Chelsea spotted quite a few people, including her sister's fiance, Tamlen, and...one of the Fire Kingdom Princesses? From what she heard, this lady was an ambassador between the kingdoms. Hopefully, she didn't cause trouble. She couldn't help but chuckle as Tamlen seemed to be acting...social, which was odd for him. He was being a good host. Progress. Rebecca might have gotten him to lighten up a tiny bit.

Princess Rinalia had been waiting on this ball for what felt like forever to her. When they day finally came, she couldn't help but be excited. The girl's mother was worried for her health though, and made Rinalia promise to be carefull. She also asked her retainers to keep a close eye on her condition on this night. Finally, after much fussing, Rinalia was allowed to join the revelers. And she seemed to shine brighter than ever. ╭☆╯Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ╰☆╮
╭☆╯Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ╰☆╮ Rinalia had been dressed i a lovely blue gown that flowed with her, much like waves. The sheer sleeves made her arms look like the sparkled, and the ribbons that were attached seemed to add fluid to her ever graceful walk. Instead of her tiara, she wore a cute headband with jewel blue butterfly wings on each side. She was obsessed with the tiny creatures. She knew well that they didn't live in Thalassia, but tended to fly in the central most regions of Larcasia. She hoped one day that she would get to see the butterflies with her own eyes. But until then, she would adorn her room with many jeweled blue butterflies. She loved them so much, people tended to say that she was like one of these fragile, beautiful creatures. She was the Heart of the cold Sea of Thalassia. A beautiful blue jeweled butterfly out of season. ╭☆╯Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ╰☆╮

She knew she was here to protect her friend, and she would gladly do so, but...why did it have to be a fancy party? She was good at dancing, yes, but the pink-haired bandit-turned-knight was...shy about doing so in front of crowds. Luckily, she was mainly here to guard Arthur, and given her background as a merchant/bandit, she figured no one would ask her to dance, anyway. Sword at her side, Rochelle turned to Arthur. "Well, at least we made a grand entrance. These nobles eat that stuff up." She commented playfully, referring to their late arrival. She figured Arthur would be worried about such things, so she thought a joke would help. Usually, she was quite stern around most people, but Arthur was one of those lucky few who got to see her past the metaphorical armor.╰ღ╮

Chell watched from the food table as the king of Ventiaus made an appearance. This party was about to get interesting...well, for the royals and nobles who were crazy about status, anyway. Chell watched the dance floor for a moment, not seeing anyone really eye-catching. Eh, she wasn't the best dancer, anyway, so that plan would be a bust. Then, a familiar, beautiful face stood out in the crowd. It was the princess of Thalassia, and Chell's old friend, Rinalia, better known to the noble girl as..."Rina!" She called out, rushing over to greet the princess. "It's been way too long! How've you been?" She asked with a bright smile. She knew her health wasn't exactly the best, so it must have taken a LOT of convincing to get her mother to let her come here.

 As he observed the people enjoying the ball, Yue leaned against the wall and tugged his navy cape up to hide the lower part of his face. One by one, his blue eyes looked at each of the guests, eyes slightly widening at seeing a princess from the Fire Kingdom. Then he remembered that she had come as an ambassador. He sighed in relief before continued watching the guests enter the ballroom, becoming a little at ease as he stayed.

 Sakura turned when she heard a male's voice surprised and a bit startled to see Prince Tamlen speaking to her just then. Dropping to a curtsy she showed her respect since he was a prince of the kingdom. "Yes, I-Im Sakura." She said softly before she heard the rest of his question. "The escorts are wonderful, and while your kingdom is colder then Im used to, the pendant certainly is helping. I didnt know they had any stones like this here." She said with a bit of a surprised voice that was also rather happy about it. She didnt want to have to wear furs and other heavy material all the time. The fire princess was a little shocked to have Tamlen being so concerned about her well being especially after she had heard about how he was generally cold and heartless. She of course didnt miss the sword that hung at his hip and knew that while decorative it could still slice flesh should a need arise.
