 It was a beautiful day and much had happened recently. The world seemed to be expanding, new creatures were coming to the land where she had been born and by new creatures she mainly meant a love interest for one of her sons. Triton had come to her ever so excited about the lady he had met at the festival. This conversation was quickly followed by the fact that she had chosen to stay. She did so love her boys they were silly, foolhardy, boys. She knew he was a naive young male and she had given him some motherly advice, if he had taken that advice she was sure she would find out soon enough.
It was in this moment that she noticed a familiar backside. Tarni. Tarni was one of her sisters, same litter, just youngest she had remained single, unattached to a mate and therefore lacking in the ways of child rearing. "Tarrniiiii what are you looking at?"

 The waves crashed at her toes as she stared out at the sea, the soft sand squishing in to her fur. She loved to feel the sand. It was silly but it was a pastime she enjoyed when she wasn't on duty. Tarni loved her job but in the odd moment when she wasnt doing it she liked to sit and day dream. Her siblings often called her a dreamer and she was happy with that. Happy with her lot. Of course her day dreaming was interrupted by her, possibly most annoyingly smug sister.
"Hi Afina." She turned her gaze from the sea for a moment to look at her deep blue sibling. She did love her sister, but she was so darn smug, so darn happy, occasionally it annoyed her.

Afina smiled happily at her younger sister and trotted up to the waters edge head butting her dear sister. "How's the job going?' She smiles, she knew her sister found it annoying when she bragged about her perfect life, about her perfect family, she knew that Tarni found it grating, she would skirt her good news for the moment and try and concentrate on Tarni, of course she would need to tell her sibling eventually.

Tarni gave a little chuckle as she looked to her sister. "Yes, its going well, I'm learning a lot from the alchemists. Its nice having an occupation." She smiled a forced smile, she knew she was expected to ask her sister questions about her own life now. Did she really want to hear it again? Well, the answer to that was no, but it would be rude not to.
"How's the family?" She raised a brow, hoping that Afina wouldn't go in to too much detail.

The deep blue lioness smiled at her sister. Tarni had always been quite a quiet lioness, compared to much of her family whom were rations, noisey and down right nosey. She didn't speak much about herself and Afina knew that she didn't want to hear about her family, but, she was going to tell her any way.
"Xenon is fine as always, and my baby boy Triton has found himself a lady, its very exciting." She laughs gently "I know you don't want to hear this Tarni, but isn't it time you thought about settling down? You'll be a great aunt before too long. Don't you want a family of your own?"

Tarni let out a long sigh "Afina, I don't want to talk about it! Not everyone was built like you. Maybe I don't want to have any children, maybe I want to just heal others and maybe I'm happy single, can't you accept that?" She furrows her brow looking at her sister pleadingly.
"I'm glad your family is doing well though. Triton is a good boy."

Afina lowered her ears apologetically. "I'm sorry Tarni, I know that you hate being harassed about these things." She lights her sister on the cheek and nuzzles her gently "We're all just looking out for you. We just want to see you happy." She smiles gently. Truely she did want to see her sister happy, settled, but she supposed they had a different definition of the word. For her, it was family for Tarni it was work, that should be fine, it just didn't sit quite right with her.
"He is, he's such a sweety, I hope the lady he has chosen doesn't take advantage of him he's such a naive boy."

Tarni heaved a sigh and nodded, she knew that her sister was only trying to see her happy. The problem was her version of happy wasnt her own. They each had their own priorities. "Maybe one day Afina, I'll find someone I want to be with, but it wont be today that's For certain. Okay?" She raised a curious brow.
The teal lioness rolled her eyes "I'm sure he can take care of himself Afina. He's a perfectly capable young male."

Afina gave a quiet nod. "Okay, I promise I wont ask again." The deep blue lioness stretches out her paws and plays with he damp sand for a moment. It was something they all did, they all loved the feeling of the water and the ground, where it met. They were seaside lions. "Come for a walk with me. Lets go and play in the dunes like we used to. We're not so old that we can't have a little fun are we?"

Tarni turned her gaze to the sky and gave a nod. "Thank you, and okay, I have time before I have to get back to work." She smiles and pushes herself to her paws taking a long stretch letting her paws absorb the salty water before she righted herself with a yawn. "I'll race you up there!" She snips turning quickly and bolting for the deep soft dunes where they had played as children. She wasnt too old to play, she had plenty of time to fulfill any dreams in the future, right now, she could afford to just have a little fun with her sibling who had already found her dream.
