Traveling had been easier for the pair of goddess, the weather had cooperated in ways that neither of them could have imagined. So needless to say they took advantage of it and sped over the roguelands directly aimed for the coast and eventually the Bahari`mtoto. Both of them had their bags in tow that were checked on regularly while they flew. Fortunately because the trip was uneventful the bags were undamaged.

“Mum.” Krisis said, a paw reached forward to point out a clear of clouds that allowed her vision to catch an expanse of water. That had to be the coast that her mother had told her about, there were no words to describe the feeling she got when spying it. “It looks like we found it.” Blasaz responded with a large grin that expressed her joy better than her words had.

“Let’s land in a few moments. Probably best if we come from the borders.” She mused lightly as they began their descent. Upon reaching the grounds both of them inhaled deeply and sighed. It was hard to imagine that they had finally made it. It was just as beautiful as Tethys had described – from what Blasaz could recall from her conversation with him. The smells reminded her of him as well. She sighed softly and then began to move forward, the borders of the pride weren’t far from them now. Krisis followed suit, eagerly.

They really weren't supposed to be this far out.

Like, really, really, really weren't supposed to be this far out.

In fact, it would be safe to assume that when they were caught they would be lectured until they were the size of mere ants. Additionally, they would probably find themselves grounded until they were adults (possibly longer). They'd never actually seen either of their parents truly angry and as such, the little hellions were accustomed to getting away with murder. So long as they caused no harm they were generally allowed to run around the pridal territorial like little whirlwinds.

The havoc they might cause was generally small, mostly to the exasperation of adults who might have wanted to bask in the sun, but would be subjected to a barrage of questions from the all too curious youngsters.

This morning...it appeared that the two goddesses were to be the subject of their curiosity.

"Whoooooa!" Huo remarked, his firey eyes widening in wonder. "Look at them, they're like birds but not birds!"

His brother came to a halt, his own eyes widening as he regarded the two goddesses himself. One a brown and white, the other a rather turquoise hue like some of the lions in this particular pride.

"Are you sure they're not just birds with really fat beaks?" he concluded. "Cause I've heard some of them have got real big beaks."

"Nah nah," Huo murmured dismissively. "Their tails 'ave got no feathers and their legs are too chunky."

"Some birds have fat legs though too..."

"Maybe but their toes are always hairless and those ain't no hairless toes..."

The brothers continued with their discussion in much the same fashion as they stood in front of the new arrivals, oblivious to the fact that they might want to exhibit some manners at some point...

"Birds, but not birds?"

Krisis remarked at the sudden realization that the pair were not alone. At first she only heard the words and didn't need the source. Though she was sure they had to be young, or at least young in spirit - speaking their minds as such.

"Who are you calling fat?" She retorted before her mother could interject and point out the cute little cubs that had made their curious ways up to them. "I believe they are, hun." Blasaz finally stated with a smile, paw raised and toe pointing out the small bodies speaking about the pair of them as though they weren't there. "Our greeters are a pair of cubs?" The statement wasn't said in disgust, more so surprise - which sounded odd on the adolescent goddess.

"Yes, I believe this place must feel as safe as the rumors spread about it say. To let two youth wander so far from their shore homes." Blasaz responded to her daughter, immediately relaxing into the idea of such safety. "Hello you two." She finally said, actually speaking to the youngsters now, her large orange-red eyes were lit up with excitement.

"What are your names?"

Krisis snorted as she watched the cubs in action, they were so tiny and fragile looking.

"Pretty sure there are birds with hair on their toes though," Shui, the little blue and white cub responded and hopped up onto his hindlegs. "They're supposed to walk like this and make a waaack waccck waccccck, sound..." he added. They definitely didn't have too many manners at the moment, or rather they didn't seem to have any manners as they continued to openly discuss the identity of the two lionesses in front of them.

"Those don't live all the way up here!" Huo argued and puffed out his cheeks. "We get these ones..." he stood up too and then promptly attempted to run on two legs in the most clumsy fashion ever. "And their entire legs are naked!" he pointed out as he fell to all fours and promptly pointed at his brother. "So I don't think they're birds!"

"They could be really big birds," Shui replied stubbornly. It was only then that he seemed to acknowledge he was being spoken to and both of the cubs turned their inquisitive gazes towards the pair of lionesses. At first they merely peered Krisis who didn't appear to have appreciated the sentiments they had expressed.

"Fat means healthy," Huo nodded reassuringly as his brother indicated the more fat you were, the better you were for dinner.

...Diplomatic.

A momentary pause as they stared more thoroughly at the green lioness, if only to confirm if she was or wasn't fat (they drew no immediate conclusions), and then they turned to look at the larger lioness. Ah, but their names, both of them exchanged glances as they realised that they had in fact forgotten some of the very basic lessons in etiquette they had been graced with. They might have been terrible students but they were pretty confident their father would probably clout them if he got wind of this.

"I'm Huo," the orange and white one announced finally.

"I'm Shui," the blue and white one added.

"Who are you?" they asked in unison.

The glare that made the green goddess' eyes narrow was much more aggressive looking then likely necessary for the innocent cubs that were being perhaps a touch to honest. Alas, she hadn't been graced around cubs since growing the bit that she did and so the 'cubs will be cubs' thought was lost on her. However Blasaz gave a hearty laugh at their manner, watching them with amusement as they dawdled about arguing over which bird one or the other might be. "You would make an amusing bird Krisis." She teased, then laughed a little bit harder at the fat comment.

"My, my boys. You're certainly educated." Blasaz said, a giggle touching her tone in the smallest way much to Krisis' dismay. "Educated." Krisis turned up her nose at the thought, but couldn't argue entirely as the boys knew quite a bit - even if the knowledge wasn't a necessary part of the conversation at the moment.

"It's nice to meet you Huo and Shui." The darker goddess responded. "This is my daughter Krisis and I'm Blasaz." She said, a smile on her face.

"Should you be out this far?"

Her maternal instincts kicked in and her query was almost habit. She stepped forward a touch just to peer about for any adults that may have just lost track of them. "Want to take us to your parents?" She offered, not wanting to parent them as that always back fired with spunky boys like this, but instead she sought to lead them home with a task.

Did they want them to take them to their parents?

The two boys exchanged another glance, their eyes widening in horror at the prospect that their secret would get out. Oh the punishment they would have to endure, the lectures they would have to listen to! It was in their best interests not to return to their parents, at least not immediately in the company of two very strange females who would expose the truth. They didn't want to be locked up forever, there was too much to see.

"Noooooooooo!" they both responded in unison and regarded the two lioness in horror. If there was ever a piece of blackmail material, Krisis would have found it here. That aside, Blasaz would at the very least catch on to the fact that they probably shouldn't have been this far out. Fortunately, they seemed to have a plan for such things and cleared their throats.

It was rather peculiar how they managed to respond at the same time.

"But we can take you where you need to go!" Shui nodded enthusiastically and gave a small wag of his tail.

"Yep! You look new, you're way different than the others," Huo agreed and tilted his head to the side curiously. "You want to see our home right?"

"The best of it?" Shui challenged.

"Then we can show you!" Huo finished and gave another nod, Shui grinning behind him.

Krisis knew precisely the reasoning behind such a horrified look and made a mental note of this moment - they would be her slaves. So for the time being she'd forgotten their previous shots at her weight and was smiling from ear to ear in the most mischievous of ways.

Thought Blasaz had caught on as well she left well enough alone and decided to agree. "Yes, we're certainly new here and would love a tour of your home. I'm sure you know all the best places!" Her response was enthusiastic and displayed her true nature, she was meant to be a mom.

"Yes, let's see what you have to show us."

The grin that had split her face was dark looking as she plotted her use of this black mail.

"Where should we go first?"

Blasaz offered the question while giving Krisis a look of 'shut up and leave them alone'.

"Yassssssssss!" Again they cried out in unison and without answering, the pair exchanged another look and zoomed off as quickly as their little paws could carry them. Unsurprisingly, the cubs were rather agile and given they seemed to know a fair chunk of this territory like the back of their own paws, they made quick work of the various obstacles that got in their way.

The manner in which they ran seemed to be akin to a co-ordinated display and for all intents and purposes, it was rather impressive. While Huo seemed inclined to leap over the vast majority of the obstacles, Shui would go under them. Huo would often veer left, while Shui would go right in a criss-cross. In the end however the pair would always return to running beside one another, and it wouldn't be difficult to follow the streaks of white through the undergrowth.

Especially when one happened to misjudge, and promptly went sailing over one obstacle, while the other smacked head first into it.

As Huo slid face first across the sand and came to a rather dramatic stop, his hind paws slumping as he lay 'motionless'; Shui afforded the opportunity to rub his paw with his head and regard the obstacle (some driftwood) in mild irritation.

"You moved," he declared accusingly at the dead tree and picked himself up to walk around it. "Hey Huo, you dead?" he demanded as he padded towards his brother and poked him in the rear.

"Hrnngh..." came the reply and in slow motion, the other cub flopped forward onto his back.

...Antics aside, the cubs appeared to have led them directly to the beach.

The pair were quite impressive and it was clear they'd travelled this way before - likely also a fact hidden from their parents. A sad smile broke on Krisis' face as she recalled her sister with a longing she hadn't felt in quite some time. "I'll have to make some time to visit Nina." She said out loud, which earned a looked from her mother - a happy look.

"I'm sure she'd like that Krisis." Blasaz replied as they continued to follow their little tour guides. Then both of them heard the collision, some words thrown at wood and the question of 'you dead'. That question alarmed Blasaz who sped up to reach the cubs as quickly as she could and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the pair were still okay.

"Oh my."

Krisis said as she followed up behind her mom. Laid out before them was a sight that easily took her breath away. She paused in her step as she reached sand and the texture earned a look at her paws, stealing her eyes from the sheer size of the waters ahead. "It's so warm and soothing." She said out loud and looked over to see her mother doing the same thing, kneading the sand with her toes. "It's so cozy, isn't it Krisis."

Then the pair silenced as they peered up, nearly in unison at the body of water again.

"Wow."

They both said, rivalling the cubs at their own ability to speak at the same time.

Though Huo hadn't gotten off his back, the two cubs exchanged a high five as the two lionesses appreciated the view. It was safe to say that the beach seemed to be the most popular place for visitors. While they didn't quite understand it themselves, for some reason all the adults seemed to become hypnotised by the horizon.

Eventually both of the siblings turned their gaze out towards the horizon that seemed to have both females mesmerised. All that lay before them was the rippling ocean and the three islands that always sat out in the distance. Since the sand bars weren't readily available and they really would get into a huge amount of trouble if they attempted to go over there, that was one of the few locations they knew next to nothing about.

"You should get in," Shui announced suddenly as he interrupted their reverie. His brother was finally beginning to right himself beside him, though this merely came in the form of him sitting up and splaying his hind legs out to either side. It was more comfortable this way, but his head needed a moment or two longer to recover from the impact.

"Mhmmm, you're missing out if you don't," Huo agreed with a small nod.

...Plus, if they did, it would give the two cubs the perfect opportunity to flee back to their nannies before the exhausted Pombukas realised they were even missing.

Win-win for everyone!

The cubs allowed a brief moment of silence, though they appeared curious about the wonder of why others saw such beauty when they peered out to the horizon. For the pair of goddesses that hadn't experienced such a moment they were simply stunned, a pleasant stunned.

"Get in?"

For once it was Blasaz who responded first. Never had it occurred to her to go in for a swim, but there it was. "What a pleasant idea!" She cooed happily. "That doesn't sound half bad." Krisis piped up, eye balling the pair of youth.

"Well why not, Krisis, we could probably use the chance to relax given how long we had been travelling?" Krisis gave a nod at the idea presented by her mother.

With little hesitation from both individuals they bolted, the movement was likely a little quicker than anticipated from such large being and the excited sounds they made would likely shock someone. But they were happy and soon drenched. Blasaz reached the water and was surprised by how warm it seemed at first, but then the deeper she got the cooler it seemed to become and judging by the look on her daughters face she was sharing the same experience.

"It's so nice."

Blasaz smiled warmly and watched as Krisis fell with her back to the horizon, wings spread. There was no splash, though the ripples grew. "Yes." She purred softly.

As the lionesses bounded into the ocean, the two cubs exchanged their usual glance and silently slipped away. They had become quite masterful at their escapes, rarely detected even by the most diligent of Pombuka. However as dinner time approached they knew all too well that a role call would be had and if they were nowhere to be found then they would soon find themselves staring up into the nostrils of their own father.

...And people thought that Hima was the one with the temper!

Rather than tempt fate the two little cubs made a quick getaway and made their way back towards their siblings where they should have been this whole time. They might not have been, but given the sheer number of children currently in their family, it was no surprise that they were able to skip through the cracks with such ease...

Tomorrow would be no different. They'd be out again, and the clouds of dust would be visible, people need only look for them to know that the little hellions had escaped.
