[3/18/2016 11:21:29 PM] Jinx: Liam moved cautiously through the crowds, keeping an eye on his tail and making sure no one either stepped on it or tripped over it. It was a lot more crowded than he'd thought it would be, though that was probably his brain still functioning at small village level. An art festival at a popular university known for creativity? Of course there would be a turn out.
He briefly regretted not trying to get a both of his own, but honestly the press of all the people was a bit difficult to deal with. As a spectator he could leave whenever he wanted, but if he'd gotten a booth he'd have felt obligated to stay as long as possible. He didn't come completely empty-handed though. On his back was his bag, full of clear baggies with various kinds of beads. He'd already shown them off to a few clothes-making types and had gotten some interest. Now he was scanning through the jewelry booths. There were several, and he ended up looking more than talking. He wasn't big into jewelry-making himself, but some of his beads could be sold at higher prices if he made them into accessories and he was getting some ideas.
Liam found one booth in particular to be interesting. It was the one nearest the entrance, which he had initially gone right by to get away from the crowds flowing in. Thankfully things had slowed down just a bit. There were several interesting pieces, some that he felt the urge to buy for himself even though he wasn't big on jewelry. He picked up a delicate-looking bracelet to examine it more closely.

[3/18/2016 11:28:25 PM] Yushika: Echo wasn't a fan of people, nor had she really been excited when the offer to attend a booth was given to her. Sure, most of her class-mates would have been thrilled, but not her. She had been told she was "talented", and thus "deserved" the booth during the art fair. No. This was just a way for the school to show her off, probably. Or, that's where Echo's more pessimistic mind immediately went to. The Imp had only accepted because of the extra credit offer. Fine. She'd do it, but she wouldn't be thrilled about it.
So, on went some of her newer creations. A few rose themed accessories, dainty bracelets and necklaces, and a few beads she had little use for. The Imp hadn't enjoyed the crowds, pressing her hands into the booth when spoken to in hopes to keep herself, somehow, upright. Finally, the crowd died down, and Echo had settled on a tall stool, tail wrapping around her legs and resting in her lap as she twiddled her claws. She was surprised to see the Naga approach, staying as small and unnoticeable as possible for the time being. Did they talk a lot? Would they have a thousand and one questions like everyone else???

[3/19/2016 12:00:39 AM] Jinx: Liam coiled his tail closer in a partial semi-circle, keeping the end on the side towards the booth so there was little chance of it stepped on and slightly less chance of it being seen. He held himself a little lower than usual, on only about a foot and a half of tail so that his face was about three and a half feet up from the ground. It gave him a nice view of the different pieces on display at the booth.
He set the bracelet down and was looking at a necklace instead. They were easier to wear when he worked, with little worry about taking them off and putting them back on. They definitely caught his eye, though he wondered if he would actually wear them, or if they would go in a drawer soon after purchase and become forgotten.
Giving himself time to think, Liam turned his attention to some of the beads. He gently picked one up and examined it, then looked to the owner of the stall. He almost missed them, since they seemed to be doing their best to appear tiny. Liam raised himself up another foot, to better be seen, and light tapped a nail against the bead. "Did you make these yourself?"

"Yes." The tiny voice came out, eyes flicking to view him. "They are leftovers from projects I finished or didn't find ambition for." She admitted, her claws knitting together as her tail twitched in her lap.

[3/22/2016 7:23:51 PM] Jinx: Liam hummed softly, but didn't comment immediately. They were very pretty, and he could already tell her style was a bit different from his own. More...delicate. Not that his weren't pretty, but he tended to go with bolder, sharper patterns and designs. He wondered if she would even be interested in the kind of things he made, given how different their styles seemed to be.
"I make beads myself, though I'm more about glass work than jewelry. It probably shows in my results." He carefully set the bead back down and picked up another, looking it over. Equally as lovely as the first. Perhaps he should try to do something like this as well. It might bring in more customers who had different tastes from the usual people who bought his beads.

She commented, though it was less of a question and instead a curious request for him to continue further. "Did you, perhaps, have a stand for the fair as well?" See, sometimes she did like talking, though it seemed to be only true when jewelry was mentioned.

[3/22/2016 8:07:13 PM | Edited 8:10:43 PM] Jinx: Liam shook his head in response. "I heard about the fair a bit too late, plus the idea of sitting among crowds didn't really appeal." He gave his head a half turn to glance at the groupings of people scattered between the booths with a slight raise of his eyebrow, then turned to look back at the Imp. "I make a lot of different glass products besides beads, and I wouldn't really trust most of it in the crowd. I did bring some along with me though, just in case anyone had questions."
He put down the bead he was examining and slipped his bag from his shoulders to pull out a few bundles wrapped in fabric (to help cushion the glass), setting them on a clear spot on the table and unwrapping them with a few flicks. Inside each fabric bundle were several clear bags with beads, the colors of which were similar to the color of the fabric they'd been wrapped in. He only pulled out two bundles, though he had several more in his bag.

When he began pulling things out the tiny Imp flicked an ear, squirming off the stool and tapping over to him to peer at the beads he began to expose. The much smaller woman kept a fair distance, though she leaned slightly to get a better view. Tail swishing behind her, the Imp looked up at the Naga, nodding faintly.
"They're pretty." She admitted, curling her tail around her lower leg as her hands clasped behind her back, eyes drifting back to the beads.

[3/23/2016 7:25:46 PM] Jinx: Liam nodded his thanks. "I run an online store and sell them, usually to crafters. Sometimes I make them into jewelry, but only when I get ideas for a piece. Most of my stock is beads, with a few other glass trinkets."
He shook his head a bit ruefully. "Honestly, I really don't like messing with the computer. It's such a pain. Only reason I bother is I can reach more people further away. When I get my own store I might have to hire someone who's good at that kind of stuff."

[3/24/2016 2:56:38 PM] Yushika: "Aaah." She mused back, nodding faintly. He was a Naga, and she had learned already they were still learning about the world in its current state. Wiggling back to her stool, she settled, tail tightening around her lap loosely.
"I have an online store, too. I don't update it much yet. Classes get in the way, but, it's my main way of revenue." She admitted, plucking at her rose ring.

[3/24/2016 3:23:59 PM] Jinx: Liam nodded his head as he slowly rewrapped the bead packets back in their protective layers of fabric. "It's much the same for me, though I hope after today I'll have a few more people around locally that I can sell to. I had a few people who seemed interested, anyway." He carefully tucked the little bundles back in his back and slung it onto the safety of his shoulders.
"I don't trust shipping for larger pieces, like vases or pulled glass, even if I can make more money with them. I'll be glad if local custom picks up."
He went back to examining the necklaces, not picking anything up but gently tracing designs with his fingers. A couple had caught his eye, but he was uncertain he really had the money to be spending on frivolous wants. "Are you open to trade as a form of payment," he asked. He didn't know until he asked.

[3/24/2016 3:27:03 PM] Yushika: Echo nodded, not really committing to a true response just yet. She was a quiet Imp, and it showed as she seemed to eye him with mild interest before diverting her gaze to examine the crowd. Thank Nine it was lessening down.... she could do with a break. The question caught her off-guard, head turning back to him and ears flicking gently.
"A trade?" She asked, tasting the words thoughtfully. Money was mostly what she went for, but if she could trade for someone useful and, in return, provide a service.... it felt more rewarding, in a way. It also would cut down on how much time she spent purchasing things outside of projects, too. She'd already have whatever it was she traded for.
"It depends on what the trade is for." Her tone, briefly, hit a playful one before molding back into her vaguely disinterested business one.

[3/24/2016 4:16:51 PM] Jinx: "Beads," was Liam's return response, in a fairly casual tone. His expression also held a bit of disinterest, like it didn't matter one way or another to him if the Imp wanted to trade or not. In a sense it didn't, though it would probably pinch greatly in the part of his ego that was proud of his work. For all his self-assurances that other's opinions didn't matter as long as he was happy with himself, he was still remarkably open to hurt. But that was a thought resolutely shoved away any time it even tried to surface.
"I have several different kinds with me right now, besides the ones you just saw. I can also make custom requests." He hesitated a moment, gently twitching the tip of his tail back and forth, though not enough to cause his rattle to sound. "I can also do glass charms, though those take me longer since I'm....particular about wanting details to be just so. I've made a few for practice."
He actually had them on his person right now, but these were tucked in a special pocket of his shirt, and more carefully wrapped than the beads. He'd been reluctant to even bring them in the first place, but had done so in the end. He hadn't shown them off yet though, too wary of all the crowds pressing around to bring them out.

[3/24/2016 4:20:46 PM] Yushika: She eyed him critically when the beads were mentioned. They were, while beautiful, not of interest currently. She could make her own, and she had plenty of spares. She was unsure about giving away one of her own things for beads. However, it seemed the glass charms caused a brief stir, head tilting to the side as she pondered it. She didn't have those, and they'd be something she'd keep for her person. Probably. Nodding, the Imp threaded her fingers together.
"I am interested in the glass charms." She announced, tail tip twitching.

[3/24/2016 4:50:58 PM] Jinx: Liam considered it briefly, then reached into the pocket on his sweater and pulled out another fabric bundle, much smaller than the ones his beads had been wrapped in. Inside that were three little objects, each separated wrapped in bits of silk. He unwrapped each one separately.
The first was an abstract of a bird in flight. The body was rounded white glass with blue running up the sides, the head another rounded bit with blue on the top and bottom running along the back and belly, with a little point for a beak and tiny black dots for eyes. The tail was a simple bit of glass, more white and blue. The wings were somewhat scalloped in shade, almost like shells, which started out blue where they connected to the body and faded to white at the tips.
The second was an owl. It was done in a variety of cream, black, and brown, with swoops of color meant to resemble the feathers. The body was long and slightly oval, with two more ovals on its side for wings. The head was short and round, with big eyes and little points for ears and the beak. A bead was fused to the bottom, making it look like the whole owl was perched on the one bead.
The third was a rose in full bloom. It was mostly pink, but the outer petals were much lighter than the inner ones, and streaks of the darker pink showed through on the outer petals like wisps of smoke.
Each charm had a small, subtle loop where a chain or jump ring could be fed through. Liam left them sitting in the middle of their wrapping, waiting to hear the Imp's opinion. He was still experimenting on making different things and had other kinds, but as he didn't want to bring a bunch of charms with him and these were his best, they were the ones he had wrapped up to take along.

[3/29/2016 3:07:32 PM] Yushika: As he began to fuss around Echo, again, jumped off the stool, approaching to see the items set out better. Her ears flicked slightly, head tilting to the side when the wares were exposed. Most would assume, but the rose ring she bore, she'd head right for the rose charm, yet her eyes had focused on the simple and pretty bird. So much work had been put into the lovely creature, and the simplicity of it left a calm, comforting warmth in her chest. It felt like a companion. A silent but beautiful one.
"This one is beautiful." She commented, a claw extending to gesture towards the first charm revealed. She didn't touch it, almost too scared to. Glancing up at the naga, she swished her tail behind her, wiggling ever so slightly. "As are the other two, but this one reminds me of home." She didn't carry further, casting her gaze back to the charms with a rare and small smile.

[3/30/2016 2:03:53 PM | Edited 2:05:05 PM] Jinx: Liam felt a swelling of pride in his chest, that the Imp liked his work. She almost didn't have to say it; he'd been watching her closely, and could see it in her eyes.
"I've been experimenting with different colors, most natural and a couple less so. This one seemed right at the edge of realistic and showy, and it's one of my favorites. I thought it would be liked best out of all my other pieces," Liam said, always willing to chat when it came to his beloved glass.
He picked up the little bird and offered it to the Imp, since it seemed to be the one she liked best. "Here, take a closer look. It's stronger than it seems."

[3/30/2016 2:09:30 PM] Yushika: The imp flicked her ears up, startled by both the movement and the offer. Delicately, she accepted the small glass bird, internally wincing as her claws clipped against the crystalline glass, causing a soft 'tink' to rattle through. She almost feared holding it, looking at him briefly before nodding absently, examining the bird.
He was right. Of course he was; he made the thing! Still, it startled her how... sturdy it felt. She rolled it over, examining each curve. This was something she couldn't do. Her claws always got in the way of glass work. Beads were one thing. Charms? She'd never been able to master that, and for a second a twitch of envy rushed through her. Glancing up at the naga, she offered another hesitant smile, gesturing lightly with the bird.
"I like this." She stated, reaffirming her desire for this small and peculiar trinket. "If you wish, you may take as many beads as you desire if I could.... take this one?" Her voice faltered, as if worried she had made an assumption. This was for trade, right? She was taken with it, but perhaps she shouldn't have jumped so fast.

[3/30/2016 2:09:36 PM] Yushika: (( AKA Echo is a nervous wreck hello hi. ))
Quote:
[3/30/2016 2:56:02 PM] Jinx: Liam rolled over the idea of the offer in his mind. Her beads were indeed pretty, and like nothing he had made so far. So far was the key though. He could make beads like those if he wanted, his style was just different. Honestly he didn't have much use for beads. They were just things he made to sell for money, and very rarely did he ever make anything with them. Again, it wasn't that he couldn't, but it just wasn't where his interest lay. If he had the free time to create, he'd rather be practicing his glass pulling.
His eyes rolled over to the Imp's jewelry pieces again. Of course Liam wasn't under any illusions that his single charm, no matter how lovely, was worth one of those. It had higher value than a bead, certainly, but it was still a trinket. They were actually a bit problematic, since it was worth more to do something with them than to sell the charms as they were; people bought bags of beads because they were multifunctional, but only people who made jewelry for a living bought charms in bulk. If he could get enough local demand it might not be a problem, but a great deal of his money was made through online transactions. Packaging and shipping would likely cost him more than the worth of the charm...
"I was thinking something a bit more...extensive," Liam said in hesitating tones, not sure if the Imp would be interested or if he even wanted to do this. He'd was very much a loner and still didn't want much to do with other people. It was only the thought of the potential increase in business that he entertained the idea at all.
"I was thinking of a....partnership, of a sorts," he said, shifting a bit nervously. "I have no skill as a jewelry-maker, and these charms are more valuable in finished pieces than on their own. I have more examples I could show you, just not with me. If you need more convincing of my skill, I'll create something unique based on whatever example you care to give me. You can even come watch how I work, if you like."
Liam paused to let that information process before continuing. "In return, you trade me finished pieces. Equal value, we can work out how much the charms are worth compared to your own work. These would be mine to either keep or sell." He tilted his head slightly. "You give me credit for my work, I give you credit for yours. Our names get exposed to wider ranges of people, and it brings in more business for both of us. Ideally."
Liam nodded his head slightly to indicate he was finished speaking, then looked off to the side nervously. Offering to work with anyone in any capacity was a bit step for him, regardless of what the Imp's answer might be. It gave him a feeling like he was standing at the edge of a great height, and he wasn't sure how he felt about that.
[3/31/2016 3:38:03 PM] Jinx: "If you're prefer just a one-time deal, perhaps we can still haggle prices for more charms in exchange for one of your pieces," Liam added, just in case the idea of a partnership didn't appeal to the Imp. He still wanted to get his product out there, and there was always the chance she'd come back to him later as a customer even if she wasn't interested in his idea.

[3/31/2016 4:19:09 PM] Yushika: The first sentence caught Echo off-guard, and she immediately began lowering the charm. Was it the wording? Whatever it was, immediately Echo considered whatever he wished for she wouldn't be able to give him. No, it was that tone, as if he was about to propose something unsettling. Luckily, he fixed his error quickly, her head tilting to one side. At first, she was about to refuse. People were not her thing. She was sure, in no time, they'd bicker. It wasn't worth that, honestly. No, she wasn't sure. Partnering with someone she just met? That meant more exposure to them. 100% guaranteed signing herself to be connected to him at least a few times a month. The imp bit her bottom lip, eying the bird charm in her hand.
Perhaps she could negotiate?
"I'd be willing to consider trading charms for some of my work for the time being. If that goes well, perhaps," A nervous flicker touched her face. "We could partner?"

[3/31/2016 4:38:03 PM] Jinx: Liam considered for a moment, then nodded. It made sense to enter a potential partnership carefully. He knew some artists could be quite fickle with their moods, which affected their word. After all he'd only just met this person, the Nine only knew what her normal lifestyle and behaviors were like. Of course to be fair that could also be applied to him. Certainly he wasn't the easiest of people to get along with.
"That sounds agreeable," he said, then hesitated as he considered his next move. He kept most of his finished pieces in his room so he didn't have to worry about them getting broken by students or mixed up with class projects. Certainly the easiest way to show off all his charms would be to bring the Imp there, but he shied away from that option. Not only would asking be awkward as hell and make him look kind of like a creep, his room was his sanctuary. The one place he could go to be completely alone when one of his moods came over him and just couldn't stand to be around others. Even if she did agree to come to his room, he'd probably be fidgeting so much from nerves that it would be very distracting.
He could always bring them down here, but the thought of bringing small pieces down into these kinds of crowds made him internally shudder. Since the Imp was showing off her own wares, she might not want to have him taking up space and causing distractions. Man, how was he going to do this?
"Ah, if you want," Liam began, hesitating and trying not to stumble over his words, "we could...arrange a meeting? Perhaps later today, when the fair is finished? Or I could all my finished charms here, if you'd prefer to look them over now." He fidgeted slightly, trying hard not to look off to the side or ruffle his hair out of nerves.

[4/13/2016 2:55:18 PM] Yushika: Her tail flicked gently as he agreed, head tilting slightly at the taller man. Meet later? For a second, her nerves fluttered, however she bit it back. This was just business, that was all. It wasn't like he expected her to be amusing, or anything. She was just a normal Imp who might become his business partner, that was it.
"We can meet sometime after. Perhaps at 8 at the coffee shop around the corner?" She offered, bringing her tail into her claws to fight gently.

[4/13/2016 10:43:21 PM] Jinx: (( Do you want me to do a skip to the new location? ))
[4/13/2016 10:47:58 PM] Yushika: (( SURE ))

[4/13/2016 11:02:56 PM] Jinx: Liam nodded, still feeling unreasonable nervous. He cleared his throat. "That sounds acceptable. 'Til then." He hesitated, trying not to flounder like an awkward juvenile with a crush. He almost put his hand out to shake hers, but since she was sitting down further away from him he refrained. Instead he chose to nod his head, wrapping up the charms and tucking them away. He faltered slightly as he reached the cloth where the bird had been. "Ah. Keep it. As a good faith gesture," he said, tucking away the cloth then turning to retreat back to the safe solitude of his room where he could mentally berate himself for acting so weird and prepare for the meeting. It wasn't until he was several feet away from the stall that he thought to turn around and add, raising his voice to compensate for the distance. "My name is Liam." And with that he all but fled, already beginning the internal berating.
Several hours later, at the coffee shop, 7:45pm
Liam had claimed one of the bigger corner tables that was out of the way of the main flow of activity and traffic. There were several people still coming and going in the shop even at this hour. He had a drink in front of him, mostly untouched and starting to cool. He had a couple glass charms in his hands and examined them as a way to distract himself and calm his nerves. He was so embarrassed for his behavior earlier. He wasn't sure what the Imp thought of his manners, just running off like that. It had probably seemed quite abrupt and weird. He would probably be lucky if she even showed up at all.
Liam sighed, setting one charm down on the table and picking up another to roll between his fingers. It was a new one, freshly made. Since pacing hadn't worked to calm his nerves he'd gone down to the furnaces and decided to get some work done. When he was working glass that's where all his thoughts tended to center. To do otherwise would have been hazardous to his health, considering all the ways one could get injured when working glass. It always had the effect of calming him down. He'd had time to make two new charms before heading back to his room, going to the bathroom to scrub away sweat, soot, and the smells of metal and fire. He tried to wear a slightly more agreeable top this time, even if his monster top was his favorite. He wasn't trying to impress the Imp for personal reasons, he just wanted to try to make a better impression if they were to do business today. Liam fidgeted, glancing briefly at the door then turning his attention back to the charm. He was pretty early and didn't expect the Imp to arrive for at least another 15 minutes. He probably should have taken a walk or something, but the weather was still kind of nippy and he wanted to make a good impression by being there early. He hadn't considered what sitting and waiting would do to his nerves....

[5/2/2016 3:16:36 PM] Yushika: Echo watched him, head cocking softly to the side, eyes trailing to the bird seconds after his comment. She leapt off the stool, slowly walking over to accept the bird. Her head raised, lips parting to offer a goodbye when, instead, a name was thrown at her and he fled. Ah, had she said anything wrong? Strange....
Lifting the bird, she delicately admired it, rolling it about in her claws before, gently, setting it back down, a faint smile on her face. She might have an idea of what to do with it...
7:50pm
Echo had closed her booth a bit ago, tucking her prize away at home and quickly fussing with her hair to shake away the stress of the day. She didn't change, instead grabbing her purse and heading out the door. While Liam was nervous, Echo was... quiet. She could only assume that was the reason people avoided her so much; she was strange. She didn't look as if she expressed much, and she kept her thoughts soft, almost muted. She was a difficult Imp to understand, and she had no desire to become an open book. It didn't bother her she was alone, either, but sometimes she wondered if her parents would have been disappointed. Probably.
She was late, but Echo lacked a phone on her to check the time. By the time she arrived it was 8:15, and she entered the store with little worry. The tiny Imp stood at the entrance, eyes fluttering about to find the naga she was supposed to meet, hands clutching the strap of her purse and tail wrapping around her slim frame. Ah, there he was. Padding over, the little lady gently tugged a chair free, setting herself down with barely a sound.
"You came." She stated, as if reaffirming that yes, he was here, and it surprised her.
