Misha had never been much of a morning person - she had been completely honest when she told Brian once that she had seen many more sunsets than sunrises - but that seemed to be changing the longer she stayed at the Prytaneum. Here it was, she thought with amusement, barely eight in the morning and she had woken up and showered and decided breakfast sounded like a plan. Winding her damp hair into a smooth rope of a side-bound braid, Misha slipped into a sweater and mini-skirt over leggings, boots and coat and scarf. Then she skipped across the grounds to reach the dining hall.

The cold air nipped her cheeks, bringing a pink blush to them, but she did not bother to bundle up properly. The walk was short and her body still warm from the shower. There was no point.

In fact, Misha shrugged off the coat and scarf the moment her foot crossed the threshold of the dining hall. She hummed under her breath as she went but abruptly stopped at the sight of an unknown man, slim and hunched over a plate. She thought she knew everyone on campus. Hmm. A new Chosen? That was exciting!

Folding her coat and scarf over her arm, Misha approached wearing an easy, sweet smile. "Hello, there. Good morning, Sunshine."

Elias rubbed the sleep from his eyes and dipped his fork into the plate of scrabbled eggs with bacon. It was nice to have someone else cook for him.
Otherwise he would eat PB&J's. Not that he wasn't a fan of his own cooking, but it was always far more enjoyable to see someone else eat his creations. Cooking made eating boring. He sat his fork down, grabbed a slice of bacon and put half in his mouth. Letting the flavor melt over his tongue, he freed his hands and unfolded his bomber jacket that was sitting on the seat next to him.
In the internal pocket was a hardcover book on medieval weapons, with hot pink sticky notes on the pages referencing gauntlets.

Elias mindlessly chewed on the bacon dangling on his lips, and fingered through the volume. He heard her before he saw her, the hollow tap of her boots against the tile floor. As he looked up, he started to scramble, fixing his v-neck shirt and flattening his hands over his jeans. Rising to stand, he put the book down and pulled the bacon from his mouth and put it down on the plate in a swift movement.

Elias cleared his throat and extended his hand. "Elias, normally, or Eli if you prefer. Sunshine is a new one." Talking to girls, women, was getting easier. Or so he thought. "How are you this morning?" He motioned to the seat next to him, which he swiftly cleared of the bomber jacket.

Misha smiled at his manners and immediately took his hand in her small one. Instead of a proper handshake, though, she gave it a friendly squeeze. Despite just coming in out of the cold, her fingers were warm and soft. "I'm doing just peachy," she answered. "Getting better and better all the time."

Then she released his hand and motioned for him to get comfortable again. "I'm Misha. Well, Mishael but that's only when I'm in trouble." She cocked her head to one side and her smile grew. She may have called him sunshine but that expression of hers gave the nickname a run for its money. "And, please, go ahead and eat. If you don't mind, I'm just going to pick up something for myself and I'll be right back. I hope you don't mind a bit of company."

She seemed to assume his answer would be in the positive and draped her peacoat and scarf over a chair two away from him. Then she gave him a cheeky little wink before disappearing into the kitchen area with brisk steps.

Her hands were velvety and warm, and after he released her hand he sat at her command. Heat was rising in his cheeks, and he furrowed his brows. Elias wasn't sure how to respond, lost in her pale gray eyes and responsive facial expressions. There was an undeniable aura of sensuality about her, and it surrounded him, erupting butterflies in his stomach.

"Mishael. Misha, I'll remember that. I have a cousin named Misha, I'm sure it's spelled different though." Elias cleared his throat, and gave a weak smile. "I'm sure you'll never been in trouble with me." His mind was making sentences and his mouth just rolled with the punches, improvising with his blood pressure. That certainly didn't come out how he wanted it too.

"I don't mind, I'll be right here." As she walked away, he couldn't but help to watch, and her wink hit him right in the gut. She was sashaying towards the kitchen, her hips and hair swinging. Elias shifted, focusing on his breakfast, and began to shovel the last of his eggs. He repeated mantras in his head, trying to calm his nerves, and move his attention from his lower half.

Elias laid his silverware on his plate, folded his napkin, and pushed his plate towards the center of the table. Running a hand through his hair, he waited patiently for her to return.

He did not have to wait long as it turned out; Elias had only just managed to settle back in his chair when the petite brunette re-emerged from the kitchen area. In her hands, she held a plate and a glass of orange juice which she set down at the empty spot beside him. She flashed him another warm grin as she took the seat after smoothing her skirt and giving her shoulders a little roll to settle her sweater.

It appeared her concept of breakfast was on the light side of things which also explained how fast she had returned. All that was on the plate was a bagel slathered with cream cheese and a handful of strawberries. "And you're still here," she declared with pleasure in her tone. "Thanks, Eli. I really hope you don't mind hanging out a bit with me."

She manage to give her chair a little twist to better study him. She picked up a strawberry and smiled. "So how long have you been here?"

Elias was surprised at her quick return, and minimalistic plate. Breakfast was the most important meal of the day, and should be the largest. But to each his own, he thought. He grabbed his napkin and wiped his mouth again, returning her smile. She hadn't even been gone long enough for the scent of her hair to dissipate.

The smell of her freshly washed hair was exotic: possibly Argan or Moroccan oil, hints of honey and vanilla. He wasn't completely sure, there were several other people in here, and it was a bit drafty.

"Not at all, where else would I go?" Giving a weak smile he let himself relax, turning to face her with an open body posture. Elias rested his arm on the table, and he fidgeted with his napkin. "About a week, honestly", he paused to find the right words, "honestly, I've lost track with all the magic and tours I've done."

"I'm supposed to go see Max, I think, later this evening about scheduling some classes and some bed sheets." Elias let out a hearty laugh, remembering how his grandmother tried to pack cabbages in his luggage."I packed my entire life into two bags and forgot to bring bedding."

Misha's eyes widened at his sheepish admission, strawberry freshly bitten at her lips. Quickly, she chewed and swallowed, lowering the fruit. "Do you mean you've been without bedding for a week?" She sounded more than a little horrified as if lacking such a basic item was cause for concern.

Setting the little bunch of strawberry leaves on her plate, she tilted her head and gave Eli a very thorough once-over. He looked alright - not too banged-up or exhausted or rumpled. A slight smile, completely reflexive, appeared on her face. After all, the inspection also reminded her of first impressions; he was quite handsome indeed and seemed adorably shy.

She shook her head. "That's not good. You must think we're the worst hosts ever. I'm sorry." Misha reached out to touch his sleeve lightly. "Did you manage to sleep okay?"

Kyjoto
You did just fine! Misha definitely goes for feminine and sweet scenets.

Elias couldn't help but laugh at her astonishment, he hadn't thought it was such a horrific thing, just a lack of thought on his part. Somehow the pots and pans too precedence over sheets and a blanket.

"Yes, a week. It's not so bad, I brought enough sweaters to make a nest." He returned her smile, his cheeks warming at her concern-filled gesture.

Elias couldn't help his head, but her manicured nails and soft hands screamed to be held. "I don't think that at all, so far everyone has been very welcoming." He went to reach for her hand, but thought better of it, keeping one on his napkin and returning the other to his knee. "Since I've been here, I've had the best sleep of my life. Anything is better than sharing a room with my cousins." He replied sheepishly, he wasn't used to talking about himself.

"How long have you been here?"

Misha arched a dark eyebrow at his assertion that he was sleeping perfectly fine in a nest of sweaters, minus the company of cousins. That was an interesting revelation on so many levels. Just where did he come from, after all? What sort of life did he have before a God started talking to him?

When he asked her about her own arrival, she smiled gently, fondly, and gave a little laugh. "It kind of feels like forever but it hasn't even been a year." She tilted her head and gave it some thought. "June, I think. Probably." Another soft chuckle slipped from her as she lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "Time flies when you're learning new things and meeting new people and having both fun and not-fun. But that's something I'd love to know. Which God chose you?"
