global consequences

• Magic is no longer a secret. It is a known quantity, but an extremely rare one: those known to have its gifts are often pressured into certain career paths or lifestyle choices. Cases of magic being an extreme negative are as common as that of it being an extreme positive, but mostly it is treated as something to be wary of.
  
• There is no story of the witch on the beach. Sunny, for all intents and purposes, seems to have ceased to exist.
  
• While your characters have similar family or home lives, their history in this world may have changed to accommodate the existence of magic: this is up to you. Players who participated in the meta will remember the pre-meta world. Those who did not participate have the option of creating a new memory set for their character to fit the new world.
  
• Technology as we know it exists. However, magical versions of the same items exist as well. They are extremely rare and usually found in the hands of the extraordinarily rich, intelligent, or magically talented. Keep this in mind.
  
• Other Ashdown still exists and is not common knowledge. Magic in "real" Ashdown is freer, but still limited: consider all "but it's tiring" restrictions on your characters' magical abilities to have been nixed.
  
• Magic still doesn't manifest until the user is at least sixteen years old. The only exception is Sunny/Sonny.
  
• You need permission to have a personal NPC who can use magic. Please PM the mule to ask for that.
  
• Magic is incredibly rare. It occurs in less than a thousand people per generation: the clustering of magically talented people in Ashdown in 2016 is unprecedented. Keep this in mind while rewriting your histories, if you choose to.

Shun remains in possession of his amulet from Heliodora. Its function remains unchanged.
Shun still possesses the Nokia phone. However, upon powering up it will only declare that it can find no signal. Even the contact list cannot be accessed.
Upon his return to the office, Shun finds that he has been promoted to Detective Lieutenant: Jeremiah's old job. The case files on his desk indicate that the case drawing the most focus is one suspected of magical involvement: the ritualistic murder of a teenaged girl named Ascencion Shore. Several names he recognizes are among the notes as suspects. One of them is Jeremiah Mercer.

Nope. The magical community prior to this has been good at concealing specifics! Where weres have been discovered, they have been good about passing themselves off as one-offs for the good of their specific pack.

Yes, they can keep their old memories if the player likes. However, they still exist in the new world either way. Civilians, however, will generally have new memories as this is basically a timeline swap...

However, Temperance, America, and Shiloh can "preserve" the old memories of their civilian friends due to their ties to the sigil. In this case, they'll function like visitors who have chosen not to receive new memories. Just let me know if you choose to use this ability so I know what's up.

also the only magic she had before didnt channel all seeing at all save for her one temporary power from him and im not sure what "magic drawn through all seeing" means pls 2 clarify i am just a lost baby bird /cries
