In recent sweeps, a few enterprising trolls have considered the untapped potential of 12th Perigee's Eve. Sure, traditionally you sit at home with your lusus, trying to smile at whatever dead animal it's dragged home as your present, but why not expand on that. Why not buy presents ... for your friends and enemies as well? The marketing campaign was aggressive, sweeping, and wildly successful. This sweep, throngs of trolls are flocking to the nearest retail branches and shopping stems, clutching long lists and bulging beetle bags. While a few stores have caught on with the trend, the majority are still unprepared for the hordes of trolls that descend on them, and their stock begins to run dangerously low. As always on Alternia, everything is two steps away from a fistfight, and this is no exception. Are you prepared to enter into a festive nightmare, to risk life and limb, for the sake of a few cheap trinkets? Go forth brave troll. And a happy new sweep.
Salmire Outpost Residents: The chaos taking place during the holidays is ideal for you to sneak into Four Fronds and buy some necessities. Surely your faces will go overlooked in the madness!
Quest Trolls: This game is open to accepted quest trolls if you do not have any in-shop characters. Quest trolls will not be able to claim any end prizes except for EP/decorative prizes.
General Notices: Users can play this game with as many trolls as they want, but prize claim will be limited to 1 troll per user, with the exception of decorative prizes. Each post should have min 50 words of rp to qualify for any of the prizes or to count the event as a rp/battle.
Game Mechanics
Trolls can travel to their local shopping center solo or with a wingman to get shopping done (game can be played by 1 or 2 trolls). Posts can be in this thread for trolls going solo, or in separate thread if trolls are going with a friend. This event counts as a battle! Trolls (teens+) must hit 0hp to claim it as one. Children can claim it as a rp, if they rped in a separate thread with another troll. As always, young trolls should be accompanied by their lusus or have 1hp.
The goal of course, is to get as many presents as possible. But larger presents are better than smaller ones, aren't they? Er - maybe your goal is to survive. Aw heck, just try and grab as many presents of as many different sizes as possible. And enjoy your outing!
Each troll should pick from the store below to shop. You can switch stores at any time during your shopping trip, but should keep accumulated presents from each store separate.
To shop in a store, roll 1d10 and check the results for the store you've selected.
Your troll will have snagged a certain amount of presents, but taken damage from either the physical or mental strain of shopping in such extreme conditions. Heck, it might come from a punch in the face via a rival shopper, if competition over the goods gets too intense.
Once your troll takes their total hp in damage, they are exhausted and must head home. If a roll brings your hp to 0/below 0, you claim the presents gotten with that roll, then end your game.
If trolls are in a group of two, damage gained per roll can be split between the trolls, however you would like. The only rule is that it must be either fully taken by the troll who rolled it, or distributed between the two. (If troll A rolls, troll B cannot take all the damage). Presents accumulated between two trolls should be divided as equally as possible at the end, before submitting the final scores.
Each user is in charge of keeping track of how many presents of each size (small, medium, large, huge) they have collected, and which stores the presents were collected in. When they have hit 0 hp, please submit the final totals here, or they will not be counted.
Remember to submit your totals once you have finished the game. Only submit this for the troll you are using for prizes.
Shops Available Helega's Tuber Shack Do you want to buy various vegetables for your friends? No? How about mugs with spuds painted on? Embossed root-based plaques? Potato sack couture? Well, if you shop here you should at least be able to avoid the worst of the crowds.

Giggle's Mirthland Slightly overbearing religious overtones aside, this store is crammed full of whimsical, charming bits and bobs at all times of the sweep. Just, whatever you do, don't look at the scary masks in the back.

Each user can only use one troll to claim prizes, with the exception of the 1 present exchange tier (shopping bag rewards). Oh gog. Oh gog oh gog oh gog nope. Nope he was not ready for this.
Mahmud had thought, incorrectly to note, that after the Space Race he'd be ready to interact with trolls more freely. After all, he had handled himself just fine in there (albeit a few minor freakouts, and hiding under the table all the time). He needed to go shopping for the 12th Perigree's eve now that he had friends TO shop for... why not now?
He very swiftly learned that the reason why was because every other troll in the entirety of Alternia wanted to shop now, too.
Getting through all the hubbub was a monumental task. Lord knows how many times he had gotten trampled, stamped... was that a shoe-mark on his left calf? Who even HAD a chance to kick him? He didn't remember getting kicked! But there it was, plain as night. Poor Mahmud had gotten battered so much he finally submitted to crawling on top of his mother's back in order to save himself from certain death.
As they shopped around, Harpommy facing much abuse via horns and hands, Mahmud laid eyes on a mug. "World's Goatest Lusus", it said. "Of course!" he replied to a mug, which in and of itself was ridiculous. With some careful maneuvering, he managed to stand on Ommy's back and reach for the porcelain gag gift and take it. Lanata would love this! Kinda! Well... she wasn't a goat. But it was a pun, and Poe had to learn his love of puns from someone. Goats were close enough to--- ACK!
Just then a surge of trolls rushed past his mother and shook her, sending him toppling to the ground. "AH! WATCH OUT!" Too late. With the grace of... well, a bull in a china shop, he fell on top of another troll's head, crying out as he hit them.

Static had heard about new pedigree's eve and how it was nice to give gifts and such, so, with a lot of persuading, and some begging and bargaining, Static and Raijin were at the mall. Static, upon seeing the crowd and the chaos, froze. Raijin growled at his troll. They were already here, there was no way they were just going to turn around and go home. Raijin bristled up, glaring at the blueblood. "Get in there and fight!" Static cowered before his lusus, stuck between two terrible places. As the blueblood felt himself start to fall apart he saw a shock of curly black hair. Was, was that Mahmud? Like a beaken of hope, Static fallowed the troll he was pretty sure was his friend into a shop at random, and fought the crowd to get to the brownblood.

As 12th Perigee's Eve drew near, Elidae began to panic that her shopping list had not quite been crossed out yet. In fact, she had been procrastinating on what to get some of her friends, mostly due to indecisiveness and, well, forgetting. Between working and working, and well, working, Elidae's schedule could barely squeeze in some for holiday shopping. Some of her friends couldn't make it to go shopping with her, but her lusus, despite his condition, decided to come along with his charge to make sure she was okay.
There was one troll in mind she definitely needed to find something for in the next week, but what exactly completely eluded her.
So with Ladydad on her shoulder, she wandered around the biggest store, the one with the most variety. There were so many trolls! Elidae, despite trying to keep to herself as she maneuvered around, got elbowed right in the eye. She hissed in pain, and moved to evade from the clustered area while Ladydad fluttered in a panic. After a few rubs and blinks, the yellowblood opened her eye again and then suddenly spotted what looked to be the corner of a box underneath some random garbage. "Whoa, hey! Look, dad!" Elidae cheered, after pushing the wires off of it. It was a hoverboard! Those things were a little... dangerous... but hey, they were kind of hard to find right now and were pretty cool! Picking up the box and holding it with both arms, Elidae took her found prize with glee.

As she reached the front of the store, Elidae slipped forward and flopped to the ground unceremoniously.

Originally, Elidae thought searching for ammo would be a little less crowded, but how she was wrong. Somehow she ended up on the ground again, after being shoved into by. After getting her fingers stepped on as she crawled towards them, she picked the trio up and stared at them thoughtfully.

"DAD. WE NEED THAT MICROWAVE. Elidae whispered harshly to her lusus, who immediately went into action. The buggy lusus flew up to the high shelf, and pushed the large box slowly off, slightly straining himself. Elidae stood with her arms outreached, ready to catch.
"Great job, Dad!" The lusus landed on her shoulder, and flopped over.

Gleaming under the artificial lighting were two matching wallets. The stye and polished look felt like finding As she reached for them, another hand clashed with hers. An orangeblood scowled at her.
"I saw these first!"
"N-No- wait, I want these really bad!"
"Well, that sucks! Cause they're mine!"
Blowing air into her cheeks as the orangeblood swiped the wallets, Elidae glared at the orangeblood and clenched her fist. After a quick deicison, she threw her arm back, and then Elidae's fist flew straight into the orangeblood's sniffnode. The orangeblood howled in pain, dropping the wallets and grabbing at their face as brown blood leaked. Horrified by what she did, Elidae stepped back and unclenched her fist. Glancing down at the wallets, then to the orangeblood, the wallets, the very angry and bloody orangeblood... she quickly bent down and snatched the wallets.
"Th-thank you!!" Elidae said quickly, and then hightailed out.

After her experience in the other two stores, Elidae hopped over with a few bloody knuckles. Waving her hand from the pain, she weaved around the customers in a particular shop. Everything was... a little odd? But adorable? So many vegetable themed things! Even if she was elbowed in the ribs quite a few times. Stashed in a box somewhere, she found two shot glasses.
"These are SO CUTE." Elidae squealed. She didn't really know anyone who drank, but surely these are a delightful gift!

Feeling fatigued and ready to head home, Elidae and Ladydad continued to saunter around Helega's in a daze, staring at all the root-vegetable themed items. They didn't even know this place existed. An unusual box left untouched in the middle of the store caught her lookstubs.
"Oooo~" Elidae picked up the box and shook the box a little, wondering what was inside. "Well... I guess... we'll take it...?" She asked with uncertainty, but with a positive smile.

Giggle's Mirthland. Feet burning and eyes redder from exhaustion, the yellowblood wandered into the clown-esque store. She ventured far in, staring at the assortment of items that varied from adorable to absolutely dayterrorish. Instead of fighting the crowd, Elidae simply went with the flow. Yet the flow lead to the back of the store. Along the wall, harrowing masks hung. Elidae and Ladydad let out distressed screams.
Running and shoving her way to the front, Elidae huffed, ready to leave, with Ladydad flying behind. As she reached the front and tried to move past the line at check out, a juggalo employee appeared to halt her in her tracks.
"Don't forget this, miss! Happy ******** Holidays!" They said, gleaming with holiday mirth and shoving a mysterious bag into the yellowblood's arms.
"Wait! Wait- no! This isn't mine! I don't want this!" Elidae cried, but she had been shuffled off and out of the store. Blinking, the yellowblood peaked inside to see what was in the bag. A mask.
Bewildered and wide-eyed, Elidae stood in silence outside the door. Then she took in a sharp, icy breath. "Okay!" Elidae said with a forced cheerful voice, pitched with anxiety. "Okay! Time to go home!" With Ladydad barely holding onto her, Elidae and her lusus headed back to the train station, ready to jump into recuprecoon.

This was a terrible mistake, but there wasn't any backing out of it now. Dei really should have paid more attention to the date on the signs he'd passed on the way into town. Of course the one night he decided to leave the house was also a huge sale night. There was mayhem everywhere. So long as he didn't get decked in the face or something, Thypion saw this as an excellent time for socializing. As if.
After managing to weasel his way through the crowds, Deimos made it into the Military Surplus Outlet. Originally he'd wanted to come into town to see if he could get some more mapping supplies- but that just wasn't going to happen. Even if he found the supplies he wouldn't want to risk getting them torn up or something on the way back.
He'd at least check them out and come back later when it wasn't so busy. In the meantime, he figured he might as well get some other useful items. Dei shuffled down one of the empty aisles- well, mostly empty, it looked totally ransacked, almost everything was off the shelves. As he neared the end, something caught his eye... A game grub? X-Treem Solitaire.. now that was interesting. He picked it up and turned to Thypion, holding it up for his lusus to see.
"I'm getting this." Just his luck that he'd found the last one and it game with a useful game.
