What are the best gifts you've ever gotten?
What are the worst?

My favorite gift ever is the 8-foot-long purple scarf a friend made for me this year. I had told her about how absolutely frigid it can get walking from my truck to the front door of the hospital (there are no trees so the wind just whips right through and feels like it's trying to steal your soul). I already had other scarves, but this one is the best. It's a double layer knitted scarf and so long I can really snuggle into it. Plus it's my favorite color ever. ^_^

I'm not sure I've ever had a worst gift that was intended as a gift. I mean, I suppose I could count the snotty tissues and other "treasures" I occasionally find in patient rooms? (And yes some patients do try to hand us their icky tissues). xp

For best, it's a tie. One Christmas my parents got me Final Fantasy 3 even after they gave me my Christmas money. The other was actually a birthday present. Two of my friends chipped in and got this awesome figure of Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh, who I'm a big fan of.

The worst present was actually a Secret Santa gift. Everyone was getting awesome presents while I got three bow clips and clip on earrings from Claire's. I said I liked it, but it was supposed to be a lolita themed stuff. I could use the bows for other things, but not lolita. And the earrings were uncomfortable.

One of the best gifts I've ever gotten would have to be the one I got back in October actually. On a Facebook group for discussing/selling Traveler's Notebooks (high quality leather notebooks that you can switch in/out notebook inserts), I have been browsing, asking questions, encouraging others and generally been part of the community for months on end, but I couldn't afford one of my own. Finally a moderator send me a PM and asked if I still didn't have one, and I said no, I'm doing research and helping others but I don't have one of my own yet. She asked my address and said she could send a spare that won't sell, she didn't expect any payment.

Lo and behold, she send me a pocket notebook that's pink with a striped bow on it. A little girly for my taste, but I can finally write in one and carry it around! I've been using it for writing Daily Prompts and thank my lucky stars that she gave me a notebook (and some inserts) as a gift when it would generally be about $40-60! From a stranger, no less! I'm so thankful <3

As far as my worst present ever, we did a Secret Santa exchange in my theatre group in high school, and my gift was a cleaned-out bottle of Pepto Bismol, with nothing inside. The tag was a white sheet of paper with "Fresh O2" written on it. But even then, I can't really complain because it was agreed I got "the worst gift ever" and the director gave me a surprise gift of a 30 Rock DVD! xD

Agh I'm just so thankful looking back <3 <3

I sort of have a tie with best because of the reasons/person who gave them to me. (I'll do them in chronological order.) First Steven (my brother) gave me a radio/cassette player (wow I'm dating myself now) for my (then) car; it was a second-hand one, but I had been unable to play music in my car and he knows how much music means to me. I was so thrilled to get it that I burst into tears and gave him a huge hug for it that Christmas. On the box he wrapped it in was something like: Careful! Spray Can Without a Lid! lol

Next: My (late) daddy gave me an art kit complete with markers, pastels, paper, paint, etc. It was in a wooden case and was to help me with my future major in junior college as I pursued my second degree (animation). To this day I have not touched that art kit. I have not used a single item in it. I gave Daddy a huge hug and said thank you. That was the last Christmas present he gave me. emo

Lastly: About 2 (almost 3 years ago I think), the owner of my franchise at the mall where I work part-time gave me a Christmas card. It wasn't just a card, t though. He wrote in there how grateful he was to have me on board and knows how hard I work every day for him and put in extra time and effort even when I don't need to do so. He said thanks for everything. I had no idea how much he watch(ed)/watches us and how much he paid attention to everything I do. I have always given my best and then some at work. It's just who I am; I don't try to kiss up or anything. I just work hard and do my best. To receive that note and realize how much he appreciates me and knows how hard I work moved me to tears and I just stood there holding the card and couldn't get over how it had all come to pass. It was just amazing; I still work for this man today and he is just as amazing as he says I am. I guess we're both equal in that regard and humbled to no end to realize how much we mean to others. It's amazing working for him!

I got a gamecube the year they came out. That was pretty sweet. I think that was probably the best one I got. Oh. Wait, no. I got a gerbil once. He was one of the best pets I've ever had. Such a good boy. As for worst, I don't really have anything I deem the worst. I even like getting socks, so. I basically appreciate everything. Keep in mind, I've never really done secret santa things or anything, so everyone who gets me things happens to have a fairly decent idea of what I like, and they don't just cheap out on stuff either.

I've gotten a ton of awesome gifts, but I remember I was in fifth grade and got an awful secret santa gift. We all had to choose each others names for secret santa and I ended up getting a small container of bath beads and that was it. A ten year old got bath beads for christmas. I was so disappointed.

New favorite gift, and it's kind of bittersweet but also wonderful.

It's a pillow made from a shirt my grandfather used to wear before he passed. My sister and I had talked last year about wanting these, and our dad followed through and gave them to us this year. heart

One of the best gifts I've received is a Jack Skellington throw/blanket that I use daily over my lap when I sit in my rocking chair, watching television and/or DVD movies. It was given to me from my sister, with love ♥

One of the worst gifts I received was from a Secret Santa Christmas Party -- a sad-looking Snowman, filled with candy-- jelly beans, gummy worms, wrapped Christmas peppermints and bubble gum. The reason it was not welcome was because I am diabetic -- and I cannot have these kind of sweets in my diet. However, I gave the candy-filled Snowman to my son and his fiancee, and they loved it! xD

Honestly, can't just say just one from either.

The best gift I got were various gift cards when I was poor, and hungry.

Aside from that, I like it when people get me office stuff that's like related to things I like. My friend got me a batman emblem shaped little cork board that I still have and love.

My worst gifts are when people get things like they don't know me. My cousin bought me a really tan colored peasant blouse and told me it's SO you.At the time I was a "tomboy" and wore t-shirts and baggy jeans. With that said, same relative got me a crop camouflage jacket with gold rhinestones for another year.

But my MAIN worst gift was a teddy bear with pink hearts from a boyfriend. I hated plushies, pink, and bears--all of which he knew.
