 Khalifa was out in the rogue lands on a regular hunting and scavenging trip with a group of other males from his pride.
So far they hadn't been a very successful though. With the change in the seasons, it was taking more and more effort to find enough food for everyone. The young male took pride in providing such an essential resource for his homeland and it made him feel useless to return with nothing.
So, Khalifa took it upon himself to wander away from his group in hopes of finding prey in another part of the land. Maybe they would be more successful if they spread out a bit. He wouldn't know until he tried.

 Anga was currently crouched watching a herd of wildebeests. She had been planning on taking one down, however none of them had wandered away from the group and she hadn't yet spotted a chance to be able to try and take one down within the group.
She had still been wandering around in the roguelands, still not sure what she was wanting to do since she had been separated from her family and she craved some... adventure or something. She wasn't sure. She had thought quite a bit about joining a pride, but so far she really hadn't run into anyone who had been able to convince her to stay in there's. So, here she was, still by herself, hungry and trying to take down a wildebeest.

Khalifa wandered through the lands on his own for quite a while searching for any signs of food.
Eventually, he'd come upon an area where the ground was littered with hoof prints that looked like they'd been left behind by a sizable herd. That caught his attention immediately. It was the sign that he'd been looking for! So, Khalifa followed the tracks until he saw the group of wildebeest in the distance.
Normally, he would only attempt to hunt down prey that was easier for him to both catch and carry on his own. However, given the present circumstance, he was going to do everything that could to bring down and drag back one of the beasts.
Slowly, he crept closer and closer to the herd looking for any chance to strike. In his present focus, he did not notice the lioness that was also present.
