Fiona sat at the breakfast nook with a cup of hot coffee in hand as the snow fell steadily outside. The house was quiet and warm now that the heater was on. It seemed a bit early in the year for snow to be falling but she wasn’t about to complain; “It’s not like the cold bothers me anyway.” She rolled her eyes dramatically as the ceramic mug was brought to her lips.

“Really? Did you really just say that?” Startled, Fiona spat her coffee back in the cup.

“When did you get up?” The bluenette watched her twin with a raised brow as she ran the tip of her tongue over her teeth just to make sure she could still feel the taste buds after being burnt.

From the kitchen counter Breanna waived her hand dismissively before grabbing a Keurig cup from the drawer and sticking it in the machine to brew. “A few minutes ago but that’s besides the point. Did you really just quote Frozen?”

“Unintentionally yes. They’ve been playing the song on request at the rink at least twice a day; more if there is a birthday party. Plus… I’m kind of the... You know.” Fi shrugged her shoulders since it kind of went without saying that the Senshi of Cold had some sort of immunity to the element her sphere was taken from.

“Oh I know, which is what makes it just that much more punny.” Bre chuckled then sighed nostalgically. “Do your remember when we were kids how we’d go outside and try to catch snowflakes with out tongues and try to make igloos but never got the walls higher than a foot before the neighborhood exploded in a snowball fight?”

“Yeah, or the time we went to the top of the hill and tried to make the biggest snow ball by rolling it through everyones yard and down the middle of the street.” Fiona chimed in before taking a bite out of her English Muffin.

“Oh yeah, stupid thing broke in half before we got it home.” Mrs Whitten was so angry at them that year that the twins nearly cried having their perceptions of Grandmothers shattered in such a way. It wasn’t exactly their fault that part of the snowball landed in her flower bed, it wasn’t as if there were any plants in it anyway; bulbs maybe but the leafy greens were definitely dead. “What do you say we go outside. You know, for old times sake.”

“Sure, why not.” Fiona stood up from her seat and walked into the kitchen with her now empty plate and put it in the dishwasher. “Let me just get my shoes on and grab a coat.”

One misconception was that you never really got too old to try and catch snowflakes despite what many would have you believe. Yes they would probably look weird to those watching and they might think that the two of them were touched in the head but that’s ok; they’re twins, it’s not like anyone understood them anyway.
