Another long day of lessons. Now that the youngling was slightly more mature she was finding it easier to adapt to the languages and customs thrown at her. Yet, that did not stop her feet from wanting to move. Sighing, Danika rolled a small twig in her fingers before leaving some glyphs in the sands. Surely that was enough self-study, right? Glancing around at the empty area Danika grinned slightly.
If everyone was off to meet with those visitors then maybe this was her chance to have some fun finally!
Stick in hand the youngling slowly began to walk her way around the trees and ventured closer to the shoreline. Maybe she could at least stick her toes in the wet sand and watch as the waters moved towards her. That was always a fun way to relax! Danika [1/10]

Tyiva was walking along the shores of Chibale. Once again her mothers had left her behind while meeting with the elders and so the young alkidike was pacing to pass time. How long would this meeting take? Another full morning? Sighing, Tyiva pulled back her dreaded hair from her face. “I should have brought a bow to practice with.” She murmured to herself absently before a sudden noise caught her attention. Was someone else out here?

After finding freedom from lessons Danika had taken to wandering the shores. Ever so carefully the older youngling would splash through the shallow waters that lapped the sands. It felt nice on her feet and only fueled her imagination for what it would be like to truly swim across into the other jungle. One day, I’ll be able to do it!
Just maybe not today. Giggling Danika pulled back away from the moving waters as they threatened to knock her over. Whoops!

Crouching low, Tyiva moved forward. Not that she was fearful of anyone on Chibale – after all it was only her sisters who were allowed upon these grounds – but it didn’t mean she shouldn’t be wary. Yet what the alkidike saw made her smile quietly. So that one was in charge of all that splashing?
Shaking her head slightly, the Alkidike called out. “It’s a bit dangerous for a youngling to be playing out here alone, you know.” Taking a few steps forward the older one reached out a hand to pull the youngling out of the waters and onto the shore.

Grabbing the hand, Danika grinned. “Is it?” Surprisingly the youngling’s gaze seemed far more mature as she glanced over the other alkidike, “I suppose you’re right.” It was a good thing then that the other girl was around, right? The thought made the child grin. Though she hadn’t talked to this girl before Danika felt as if she were familiar. Was she on the island a lot?
Pursing her lips thoughtfully the young mystic let go of the helping hand so she could stretch her arms, “So…who’re you?”

“I suppose I am.” Replied Tyiva as she studied the other alkidike in turn. Who allowed their youngling to walk around like this? Though the little one was older than a recently bloomed it was still obvious that she wasn’t an apprentice just yet. Still there was probably only a few years between them. Frowning at the thought Tyiva crossed her arms, “My name is Tyiva. You?”
Though by now she had noticed the strange markings and slowly was beginning to piece everything together. Was this the young mystic so many had whispered of? No wonder it seemed as if she were talking to an elder rather than a child at times…

“Ty…Tyiva.” Danika repeated the name to herself before beaming up towards the other alkidike, “Ty! I’ll call you Ty.” Immediately those dark eyes lit up with an energy that proved she was still a youngling, “I’m Danika, but you can call me Dani if you would like.”
Bouncing on the balls of her feet the little mystic glanced around the beach. The elders in charge of her lessons were still in a meeting so this meant she had a bit of free time left. So what did she do? Perhaps the other girl would want to play with her? Danika glanced over with a grin, “So do you play, Ty?” [4/10]

“You wish to call me, Ty?” The Alkidike actually laughed, “I suppose I should allow it, but only for you.” She gave a small nod. After all this young one was surely that mystic. The very mystic she had always wished to meet one day and keep watch over. It was just…that she hadn’t expected to meet her when she was so tiny. It definitely would be a memory to hold onto for later years.
“Play?” She found herself repeating with a thoughtful frown. Surely the other alkidike was still young so it would make sense that she would want to play. Yet Tyiva had never truly allowed herself much amusement before. It was no wonder then that such a suggestion truly surprised her. How would she know what the other one wished to play? “So young mystic what do you suggest?” [4/10]

Danika beamed. Nicknames were a key thing in friendship, right? For some reason the young mystic felt connected to the young woman next to her and even a small thing like this made her happy. Perhaps it was simply because Ty was the only younger alkidike she had yet to interact with, but still! It was enough for her.
And she was willing to let her play! “No, no. Dani!” Pouting the youngling shook her head, “No mystic stuff please?” Her gaze pleaded with the other alkidike as her antenna twitched nervously, “I just wanna be called Dani.” Reaching out her hands towards the other girl, Danika smiled. “And I do have an idea! But I’m not supposed to go alone so at least you’ll be with me~” [5/10]

Bowing her head Tyiva smiled, “Alright, then Dani.” Though at the mentioning of the child needing a guard the woman paused. Should she allow the young mystic to lead her away from the area? What if she was supposed to stay here?
Still…she was just a child.
Was it such a shame to let a youngling have fun on occasion? The thought may have surprised Tyiva, but it was true. For some reason she felt soft towards the young mystic. There was just something about the way her gaze beamed at her. That light and that inner kindness….even for a youngling it still was touching. Flushing lightly Tyiva waved a hand, “Lead the way and I’ll guard you….I mean come along to play.”
If there were consequences later then fine she would deal with it then. [5/10]

Oh! She was really agreeing to it? Danika could smile any brighter as she grabbed the other Alkidike’s hands, “This way then!” While basically dragging Tyiva after her the young mystic made her way over a worn path that weaved around Aisha’s long roots and eventually ended up on the far side of the island where her limbs didn’t truly reach.
There was a slight opening in the rocks where a small cavern had formed. Of course Danika didn’t push them far in, but rather stopped at the entrance. “It’s not big, but they still worry since it’s so far away from mother.” She explained quietly, “But there’s really cool dirt here to play with.” [6/10]

“Cool dirt?” Tyiva finally spoke despite being quiet on their walk towards the area. She had been honestly confused about why the young mystic wished to venture so far away from Aisha, but now as she studied the cavern it made some sense. How had such a rift been formed? Curiosity made her venture forward and Tyiva found herself reaching a hesitant hand forward.
What she touched was cool and surprisingly moist. “This isn’t dirt…” She whispered before pulling out a handful. What was this? Mud? No her mothers had once shown her such ‘dirt’ before and even allowed her to make things out of it. “Clay.” She stated simply before turning to gaze at Danika, “You meant to play with this?” [6/10]

“Clay?” Danika blinked as she climbed over some rocks in order to move towards Tyiva, “Is that what the name is?” Her small fingers moved forward so that she too could get a lump of the damp ground, “I knew it was different, but I didn’t know what it was.” She smiled sheepishly, “Thank you.”
Holding up her fingers the girl grinned, “So what do you think?” [7/10]

“What do I think?” Tyiva pursed her lips, “I’ve used this once before to help create pottery for my sisters. I’ve never thought to ‘play’ with it before.” She rolled the clay in the palm of her hand thoughtfully. How did one even play with this? Yet her gaze ventured towards the side where she noticed small footsteps and finger prints. Danika had been here? A few small strange looking figures greeted her curious gaze and the Alkidike frowned, “What are those?”[7/10]

A light blush decorated Danika’s cheeks as she reached over and picked up one of the strange figurines, “Sisters.” She whispered quietly as she handed one over to Tyiva, “I wanted to make figures for them.”
It had been a fun project though most of the figures were lopsided or fallen over from her lack of experience. At least she had tried? But now that Tyiva was studying one of the figures Danika felt embarrassed, “I thought it was fun to do.” She whispered quietly, “What do you think?”
