She'd lost them again!
Kicking the ground in annoyance, Scorpa wandered the festival grounds in a temporarily frustrated mood. She'd come to hang out with her friends and gotten distracted by a grilled foods stand. It'd been so tempting...
"Wait, it's-" Spotting a troll up ahead in some sort of gunslinger type garb, the yellowblood thought she recognized them! Not known for her great attention to detail, the girl galloped on over to jump on him and loudly exclaim!
"Gotcha! Didn't think I'd see you here!" Her eyes glittered with a playful glint.

Amazing. There were plenty of words Garand could have used to describe the Festival and the plains that held it, but that one seemed the most appropriate. All these trolls packed together in one place, all the foods he'd never tried before, all the green of the grass and the plants the farmers had grown. He'd never seen anything like this in the desert, and it was honestly almost overwhelming just how interesting it all was.
Eyes wide and Pan chattering nonstop in his ear, he'd just been wandering through the crowd, looking at anyone and anything that caught his attention, when suddenly something slammed into his back. There was a loud 'Gotcha' in one ear and a shrill squeak from Pan in the other as he teetered off balance. The blueblood stuck his arms out in attempt to steady himself, flailed hopelessly when that didn't seem to be working, and then, finally, fell flat on his face.
"Who?"

"Hehe, surprised to see me?" Her voice rang out laughing as she kept her butt firmly on his back, sitting comfortably on him. Buffel had been pretty entertaining at their last encounter and she wondered if he'd get mixed up into something unfortunate again tonight! Smirking, the yellowblood chattered happily to fill the air with some noise.
"I had a lot of fun at the desert last night. We should really do it again." Normally Scorpa hated the desert. She hated the dry heat, the dust, the other kids. Pradapalps barely payed attention to her when they were out and about already, it was even worse when her other children were around. Buffel's flailing antics had amused Scorpa into almost liking her brothers and sisters for a moment. Not for long enough to last though, sadly.
"I found this really cool place you might like, actually. It's got this crazy door covered in sand! I think it might have treasure inside!"

Garand didn't know who she was supposed to be, but she clearly thought she knew him well enough to make a chair of him. The blueblood got an arm up under himself, enough to lift his head and shoulders up a bit, but his attempt to turn his head for a good look at the girl was stopped short by his right horn hitting the ground. He let out a quiet sigh, slumping back down a little, and then tuned back in to her chattering.
Wait. The desert? Last night? He couldn't have forgotten meeting a troll the night before, he knew he couldn't have, but- How did she know he was from the desert? And- A door covered in sand? Had she found a ruin that he hadn't yet? He had to find out more.
"Hey," he started, and he put his weight on his arm to begin lifting himself up a little more. "I don't know w-" There was a sudden weight on his head and down he went again with an 'oof'. Pan stood indignantly on top of it now, squeaking out a lecture for the yellowblood with wide and dramatic waving of his paws. He'd no doubt forgotten that she probably wouldn't be able to understand him. "Pan," he groaned, "why?"

"Wha?" Scorpa blinked at the sight of a mouse lusus. It was so cute! She usually preferred the more tough looking lusii, they were more impressive, but this one looked cuddly and soft! Waving wildly, she didn't understand what it was saying. Did it... want a hug? Figuring it couldn't hurt, the yellowblood reached out and grabbed it, pulling Pan into a tight embrace.
"There! But yeah, it looks really cool and I could use a hand checking it out!" Scorpa began rambling again, taking time to mention in great detail how mysterious and dangerous the place might be! Those underground hives were bound to have tons of secret passages and hidden items tucked away in them! She wanted to take all of her friends with her to loot the goods but didn't know how safe the place was. Deserted hives were empty because they'd either been abandoned or someone had died.
"So what'dya say? You in?" She'd wear him down. She had time. She'd ride this cowboy however long it took.

Pan clearly had not expected this turn of events. When he had something to say like this, Garand usually just sat back and listened, instead of scooping him up and squeezing him like this. The lusus squeaked and flailed for a minute before giving up and slumping into the hug. There were worse ways to be cut off from a lecture, he supposed, and it wasn't like he couldn't just get out whenever he wanted. Right?
Garand had likewise given into his fate for the moment, listening to every word Scorpa had to say on what she'd found and what she thought they might find inside. He was still honestly baffled at that. He'd been sure they'd never met, but here she was giving him something practically tailored right to his interests. By now, he already knew he wanted to get in there and check it out, but...
Done with eating the dirt, the blueblood made a sudden move, lifting himself up and twisting around in what he figured was the best tactic for knocking someone off of his back. One knee still under him, he finally turned his head to get a look at the girl. He definitely didn't think he'd ever seen her in his life. But she'd been asking a question right? What did he have to say?
"You're heavy." He announced decisively. "And I'm in."

"Uwaa!" Scorpa yelped as she was flung off of Buffel. Startled, she held onto Pan tightly so as to not accidentally throw him somewhere in the chaos. While she was miffed at being tossed off, she still liked the cushy soft lusus and didn't want to hurt it yet.
"What the he- HEY!" The yellowblood started at his insult about her weight until she realized... she had no clue who the hell he was. Buffel's eyes had looked baggier than that. So who was this guy? And why was he declaring he still wanted to come along!? Her eyes noted a red scarf tied around his blue jeans. She'd initially thought Buffel was just wearing some stylish jeans and trying to look higher class than normal today but now... her eyes made their way up slowly to the symbol on his shirt. s**t. It was a blueblood. She'd just sat on a highblood and snickered for seven minutes..
"Er." Her confident demeanor changed to one of confusion as she started to back away.. "Sorry, I think I got the wrong person."

Garand pulled himself to his feet and watched as the yellowblood gradually realized her mistake. Even before she said as much, it was easy to tell the exact moment she knew he wasn't who she'd thought just by the look on her face. He wasn't going to hold it against her, of course, because it was possible that this was just a thing she did with whoever it was she'd mistaken him for and she hadn't meant any harm. Before he could say as much though, Pan waved a paw with a attention-grabbing squeak.
Garand's eyes narrowed in confusion. Why was she hugging his lusus so tightly? He blinked, and then she was backing away as if she meant to make an escape. "Hold on," he stepped forward as she stepped back to keep the distance between them from growing. "You can't leave yet."

"Don't mind me, just gonna head off now!" Scorpa laughed nervously, taking another step back for each step forward of Garand's. The world's worst salsa dance. She didn't know what his deal was, did he want revenge or something? She didn't want to hang around and find out! But why was he giving her such an intense look? Like seriously it'd been an honest mistake! Back off!
"Trying to leave you alone now~" The girl informed him in an awkward sing song tone to sound nonthreatening. He was starting to get on her nerves in more ways than one, however, following her like this!
"I already said I was sorry, what else do you waaaaant?" She eventually whined.

With every step they took, forward or backward, she seemed to get more nervous and uncomfortable. Garand didn't really get it, since he wasn't the one making off with someone else's lusus or anything, but he kept following her regardless. Finally, she cracked and he realized he'd made a mistake himself in not being clear with his intentions. He'd just kind of...thought it was obvious? Coming to a stop, he very deliberately lifted an arm to point towards Pan, just to be sure she couldn't misunderstand.
"My lusus." It didn't get much clearer than that, did it? "You can't just take him." Pan was already nodding, beginning what Garand would understand to be an overenthusiastic description of just why she couldn't take him. He was already on to the third burrow that he just absolutely had to check on tomorrow night, and barely even a few seconds had passed. "And," he continued over the mouse's squeaks, "I want to talk to you."

"Wha- OH!" Scorpa yelped at the realization she was kidnapping his lusus. Secretly, a small part of her didn't feel bad about it. This mouse thing was super fluffy and cute. It'd felt light as air which was why she hadn't noticed she'd been still carrying it.
"My bad! Here you go!" Placing Pan in his hands, Scorpa didn't understand any of the squeaking lecture and got off fairly easy. While it was very high pitched, it was easy to forgive as long as it wasn't right in her ear. She wished she didn't have to give him back but rules were rules. Plus Pradapalps might actually up and leave her if she brought home another parent. She couldn't bear the thought of it.
"Sorry sorry!" Scorpa waved figuring that now they were done. His 'want to talk' sounded a lot like 'hold still while i call security to come kick your a**' and she couldn't risk getting any kind of mark on her file for insubordination or disrespecting the hemospectrum. Especially not after the incident with Static!
Hmm maybe Lorata was right after all. Bluebloods were trouble.

As soon as Pan was in Garand's hands, the mouse lusus scurried up an arm and settled in his usual place on the troll's shoulder. The blueblood glanced over at his lusus, making sure he was alright, then turned his attention right back to the girl still obviously ready to get away from him. Any other troll he probably just would've let go once Pan was safe and sound, but this one had gone and gotten him interested in what she'd been saying, and he couldn't pass up the opportunity of a good ruin to explore.
"It's about that door you found," he threw in, before she could make her get away. Maybe she'd stop doing that now that she knew what he wanted to talk about wasn't anything bad. "I can help you check it out, if you show me where it is."

"You actually want to come see the door?" To say Scorpa was stupefied would be an understatement. She hadn't expected that at all. Looking at the blueblood like he was crazy, the yellowblood wondered what he was thinking. He looked serious about it. So he wasn't joking?
"Alright! But one condition!" She held a finger up. Then that finger pointed at Pan on his shoulder.
"I get to cuddle him next time."

Both troll and lusus nodded the affirmative and then listened attentively for whatever that condition might be. When her finger dropped to a point though, Pan actually jumped with a little 'eep' and scurried around to the other shoulder. Now it was Garand's turn to stare at her as if she was the crazy one. "You cuddled him this time," he pointed out, but he guessed if that was her only condition, he should probably consider it.
"Alright." Pan startled again, tapping a horn and denying ever agreeing to such. "You might have to catch him though." As Pan huffed and then gave a tiny, resigned thumbs up, Garand reached out a hand one more time. "Garand Luceid," and then, when another squeak came, "and Pan."
