The Mecha Mook Mash 2000 competition was about to start, and Wallas wasn't going to miss entering for anything on Alternia (except maybe a surprise blood color swap and promotion to seadweller or purpleblood). Gritting his teeth, he began the routine inspection of his mechanical automaton contraption backstage, hoping that it would hold together on its way to the ring. All the component gears and gizmos seemed to be intact, which was a small relief. Maybe, just maybe, this mechanism would be able to last a round in the actual competition, perhaps cleave through a dozen mooks or so before something broke down.. Still, his "battle bot" needed a name. Wallas had never been one for excessively frilly names, and while he wanted something with oomph to it, he didn't like things that might be too ostentatious. He became lost in his name musings as he tightened a few screws, almost slipping into a trance and becoming unaware of everyone else.

Every sweep Chittentown would held a Mecha Match specially inclined for kids. Last sweep Polair couldn't enter, as the mechanical contraption she wished to build was probably able to cull someone (the judge's words not hers) and was overly complicated. So because she was a prodigy and knew so much, she was restricted to participate. This sweep, however, she applied to help out as an assistant for this special event. She's been doing the same with other events she isn't unable to participate, always trying to motivate the contestants to do their best while being productive at the same time. With a clipboard and her portable reading device at hand, she went to and fro-- getting all that was needed. As she was about to deliver the participants list to the judges she stopped halfway as she heard the sounds of gears working. The highblood felt curious, she really wanted to see the types of bots competing this sweep. So... she took a quick detour backstage. Sending a few echoes with her bracelets she explored the area. The participants all seemed lively, and enjoyed talking about their bots (bragging yes, yet nevertheless they explained it.) However... this one troll, they seemed... concentrated? Perhaps too concentrated... It was funny, as she thought of herself as a kid. Actually, she would do something like that now! Carefully, so she wouldn't stop the young troll's train of thought abruptly, she approached the redblood and send small pulses to his contraption to analyze it. Simple robotics, she appreciate his work very much. The highblood cleared her throat to attract his attention, she was just too curious and excited. "You have a nice mech there... Anything you could tell me about your creation? If you don't mind that is."

Wallas jumped once at the sound of someone clearing their throat, and then jumped again when he saw who was in front of him. A seadweller. The highest of bloods. The kind of troll that could just cull him right there on the spot and then walk away. He swallowed nervously and tried to manage the oncoming stutter. "Ah, um, yes, certainly. This mech... i-its main weapons are a cleaver and a piston for smashing mooks that get too close. The piston has a little knockback, so it should buy it some time in the ring, I guess..." Wallas scratched his head by his right horn. "It, um, doesn't have a name yet, I'm afraid..." If the seadweller had any recommendations, he would welcome them, not only because all his ideas had fled, but because saying no would probably mean a culling.

"Interesting." She said as she crouched down his size. Although all Polair could could see was a blur, she could still picture the objects in front of her. So his description more or less helped her picture it better. "It's very nice, I'll give you that..." The seadweller smiled slightly at the redblooded boy and turned her attention back to his creation. A name? It missed a name? "Hmm... Sorry, I'm not the most creative when it comes to naming my creations." She chuckled. Two heads were probably better than one, however, she did made the silliest names back when she was a kid. Trying to be all serious and older for her past age. "But hey," She said reassuringly. "It'll come to you in time." Polair cocked her heard to the side to "look" at the boy. "What's your name?"

Wallas managed to muffle the oncoming sigh of relief. The seadweller seemed more interested in his creation than in any sort of violence; perhaps his execution had been stayed. "Thank you... My name is Wallas, Ma'am. Wallas Ziegel." He hoped that the seadweller wouldn't take offense to being called Ma'am. It was meant to be polite, but if she thought it aged her too much... that could be a problem. Honestly, a little part of Wallas's mind had decided to play possum. It was like the anxiety had dropped and become acceptance of his potential death. "May I ask your name?" Certainly, he wouldn't press for it if she didn't want to share it. He began to fiddle with a piece of his mech, making sure it was attached properly. As he adjusted the piece, he tried to search the edges of his thinkpan for a name that would fit.
