The evening sun was burning through the skies as an amber flame. Streaks of gold interwoven with indigo and orange seemed to completely paint a new landscape as Nadiya moved forward. Her gaze, however, was not solely on the heavens above but rather was for the glimmering body of water below. It had been years since she had truly seen the ocean and now that she was heading back to Matori with her brother the girl found the sands of Oba shifting as they followed the path towards the shoreline.
The caravan was resting further away, but tomorrow they would completely be out of the borders and fully back into her home country. Her stomach clenched at the thought. Could she truly do this? Become some behaved lady again and face a family she hadn't seen in years? The Matori twisted the scarf hanging around her neck nervously. Her mother needed her, correct? Then it wasn't as if she had much of a choice. "I hope they remember me still..." She smiled slightly at the thought of her younger siblings. How much older they must be now!
Shaking her head, Nadiya reached into her purse. While she had promised herself not to play music when she got home there surely wasn't anything wrong with letting out one final melody. Ever so slowly the woman reached her old flute up to her lips and then finally began to play...

Less time had passed since Neryssa had passed through the boarders, searching for the sister that left so long ago. Sand smudged and a little dusty from the roads, the young Matori shook her head and pushed her bangs from her eyes. The night air was cooler then the hotter day, perhaps this is when the critters were to come out? She was hunting for something.
"Poor, seems everything was either scared away, or left." Neryssa frowned as she planted her fists on her slender hips.
Almost ready to give up and turn around, the wind shifted ever so slightly to blow the salty scent of the ocean towards her. Home. A place she said she wouldn't return to until she had found Nadiya. Closing her golden gaze, she turned away, even more determined to leave before other memories were drawn closer to the surface. Neryssa was only able to take two steps away from the memories before.. Before.
"Music?" it was the only word she could utter, Was there really someone out here playing music? While it had been years since she heard a flute, her sister's flute. But really, was her sister out here? Nah, she was a long ways off surely..
Still scratching an earfin, the matori turned around and headed towards the sounds. She wanted to know who was playing the flute, perhaps they had seen her sister? It was worth a shot anyways. Gaining ground closer to the sounds, something rustled in a bush near by, while Neryssa didn't even notice, well.. That is... until it reached out to grasp a hold of her leg. Stopping dead in her tracks and barely looking down, Neryssa.. Shrieked!

It truly was a serene moment. As she finished playing the melody Nadiya closed her eyes. If only she could just use this time to be swept away into the breeze! Perhaps it could take her to another life where she could fly freely. It would be so much easier than being caught in this back and forth tug of war between her duty to her family and the duty to her heart.
Sighing, the woman prepared to pack up her belongings before a sound pierced through the air. Was someone in danger? Her gaze flashing with life, Nadiya spun on her heels and rushed through the sands. Not that she had much of a weapon, but when she did approach Nadiya raised her flute high above her head threateningly.
"Hey! What's going on?!" In her rush and also due to the years apart it didn't register just yet who exactly she was looking at. All that mattered was that there was another Matori here who had yelled as if she were in trouble. And Nadiya was determined to help!

Neryssa didn't let the grass grow beneath her slippered feet, as she headed in the opposing direction she had been heading. Whatever it was that had attached itself to her clung to the back of her shirt. She could feel it there, in that brief moment as she shrieked, something scampered up her leg to her back. With another shriek as she peered over her back towards whatever it was to have large green orbs stare back at her.
This prompted the young matori to run faster as if it were to dislodge what was clinging to her. Eyes closed and barreling forward, she didn't see someone coming in her direction. Well, that was until she collided into said person, falling towards the ground, it was only now that Neryssa opened her eyes to see what she had hit.
"N..Nadiya?"

Out of all things Nadiya was not expecting a collision. Yet, when the young girl did run into her Nadiya found herself stretching out her arms so that her back would take the brunt of the fall for them both, "Umph!" The noise of surprise left the woman's lips before she had the chance to clear away the dancing stars which blocked her vision.
Had...had she heard her name?
Blinking once more Nadiya glanced up at the girl who she held in her arms, "No...no way! Neryssa?" Nadiya blinked a few more times. Was...was it really her younger sister? She was so much bigger than when she had left before! "Is...is it you?!" A squee left her as she clasped the other girl tightly against her body and hugged her happily, But her happiness faded quickly as she paused to glance over her sibling, "Wait...did you scream just now? Are you okay? What's wrong?!"

Neryssa flailed a little as her sister tightly hugged her as they both laid on the ground. The younger Matori squinted a little at her sister before wiggling to get off her older sister. When she achieved that, she sat up a bit pushing bangs out of her eyes. "Yes it is me. You don't have to hug that hard." she muttered looking around.
When she was asked if she was the one that screamed, Neryssa didn't really utter a word as she nodded rubbing an arm as if cold or frightened. Really she had been frightened, something had reached out from the bushes and grasped a hold of her leg and she didn't know what it was. From the bushes behind her came a rustling. Something was still there, moving.
"Did you hear that?" Neryssa asked slowly turning around as something black and green crawled out of the bush. A long horn protruded from its head and a sort of skin flap stretched between its legs. The thing that made the young Matori pale a bit was the curved tail at its back with what looked like a stinger attached to it. "Wha... What is that?"

"Why not?" Nadiya pouted as she clung to her sister, "This is the first time seeing you in years. I have to make certain you're not a mirage!" Teasingly she pursed her lips towards her younger sister before letting go to poke her on the shoulder, "I'm still older so I'm allowed to dote on you, especially during a reunion."
Still, feeling that something eerie was around made Nadiya press close to her sister. If there was something out there then she would fight it back! Clenching her fists, Nadiya took a stance before almost falling over at the sight of a maglardilla, "A monster." She whispered as she tugged Neryssa backwards, "From Jahaur." All the fear in the world was written on her face...
And then came the laugh, "It's actually called a maglardilla and last time I checked I've never heard of one harming anyone. But I don't understand, what is one doing here? And also why does it seem so attached to you?" She paused, her frown deepening, "I've also never seen one colored so...creepily before?"

Neryssa flailed a bit and swatted at her sister as she soon let her go. Of course her swatting was playful in nature as she hadn't seen the older Matori in a good long time. Heck, Neryssa couldn't count how many times she tried to run away from home to get to Nadiya. Then again, she didn't want to talk or even think about those times. She hated her brothers for always messing up her attempts, She still had to pay them back for that. Karma would be their downfall, this she was sure of.
"Well that ain't my fault. You could have come home, you know how much everyone missed you."Neryssa said eyeing her sister from the corner of her eye. "Besides, if I was a mirage, you think I would scream like that? Really." Turning again, she looked back at the insect like creature that crawled towards them, its hook like feet catching a hold of Neryssa's leg. Stiffening, she looked back towards Nadiya, a monster? As creepy as it looked, it didn't look that much of a monster. Shaking her leg a little to dislodge the critter so that she could stand up.
"I don't know either. But it seems to be following me everywhere. Maybe it likes the way I smell? Can it smell things?" These were questions she didn't know how to answer as the Maglardilla wiped its face with a leg before moving closer again. Paling a little, Neryssa looked back to her sister as if she had all the answers. This was some reunion, stalked by a critter from another land.

Nadiya flushed as her sister called her out, "True, true. Sometimes things aren't that simple though." She did laugh however at the sass, "Maybe? Sometimes my ears ring just like that, you know?" She winked before ruffling her sister's hair and moving away to stare at the creature.
"I mean have you been using a certain scent? I think it likes sweet things." Nadiya grinned, "Perhaps it thinks you're a flower." Crouching the Matori moved forward and wiggled her fingers at the strange creature, "Hey little guy. Are you trying to be friends with my sister? I hear that's hard some times, but I'm cheering for you." She teased before glancing back over towards Neryssa, "You know the more I look at it the cuter I think it actually is. What do you think?"

Neryssa looked at her sister with a bit of a frown, before her hair was ruffled. It wasn't like she didn't need to redo her tails anyways, they had bits of leaves and twig in them. The mention of things not being simple, what wasn't simple? She could have visited and stuff now and again. She did have to leave and not return in years. Looking away from Nadiya, Neryssa looked back at the creepy crawly that was on the ground before them.
"I know I need to bathe, but I don't think I smelled that bad.. Or like any flower.." Neryssa frowned even more at the Maglardilla as it turned its head towards Nadiya. "Your guess is as good as mine."
The Maglardilla moved closer to Nadiya, its tail flicking a little behind it before turning its attention back towards Neryssa. Those green eyes watching the Matori as she watched back.
Neryssa give a small sigh before walking over and picked the Maglardilla up off the ground and into her arms. It squirmed a bit to grasp a hold of her shirt and skitter awkwardly over her shoulder. Neryssa shivered a little before trying to see what it was doing. "What is it doing?" her voice quivering a little unsure as it settled on her back, clinging to her clothing.

"I never said you smelled bad." Replied Nadiya with an amused grin, "But now that you mention it..." She was just being playful, however, as she looked over her sister. And then as Neryssa picked up the maglardilla Nadiya found her gaze widening. I suppose I was pretty persuasive. Still, she hadn't expected her sister to pick up the creature so quickly!
"I suppose it's making certain you don't let it go?" Nadiya tilted her head as she took a few steps forward, "Hey little guy. I think you're supposed to make friends first before getting that close." Her golden gaze narrowed as she looked over the bug, "Is it hurting you? I'll try to remove it if you want...." Honestly though it seemed that the thing was being...loving? Could she even say that about a bug?

Trying to look over her shoulder at the Maglardilla that was on her back, Neryssa gave a bit of a glare at her sister. If she weren't standing stalk still because of something clinging to her back, she would have tackled her sister. Well, this was going to have to be something that she got the hang of, cause it didn't seem like the Maglardilla was going to let go any time soon.
"No, just leave it. It's just clinging to my shirt, and that tail looks like it could hurt." She didn't want her sister to get stung or whatever happened with these critters. "I am sure when its ready, it will let go and maybe leave. I don't know."
Giving a shiver, Neryssa took a couple of breaths before easing off on the tension. Perhaps having something clinging to her back wasn't such a bad idea, might come in handy really. But she didn't think it would stay around too long, perhaps find a tree and leave...
"Anyways, were you with anyone else before? Surely you weren't out here alone..." She never should have been alone either, but she... Kinda didn't have anyone to travel with as of late...

Nadiya pursed her lips in protest, "Are you certain?" The Matori girl just shook her head at the creature, "One wrong move buddy and I'll demonstrate my lightning kick for you - so you better not hurt her." Sighing, Nadiya circled back around so that she could see her younger sister's face, "I hope so - if not you might have to work out how you'll be changing cloths and bathing from now on." Despite everything the bard couldn't resist the urge to tease her sibling. It did seem like the creature was more comfortable with Neryssa so Nadiya wasn't too worried. After all she had never heard reports of a killer Maglardilla before.
"Ahren." Nadiya smiled sheepishly, "I was with Ahren. I met him back in Jahaur and he told me mother wasn't so well....I figured it was time to come home for a visit. How about you? What are you doing out here?" Her eyebrow rose in question as she realized that she was facing her sister, "Aren't you going home too? I mean - what are you doing out here even?"

The Maglardilla just looked at Nadiya as if she were crazy. Tilting its head and staring aimlessly. Had to wonder if it really did understand what was being said. All the same, it had settled itself on the back of Neryssa's top. "I can just take my top off. Its just on my outer shirt, not the one underneath." Neryssa pointed out. I just have to undo the sash that and take off the outer shirt." Honestly she didn't know about her sister sometimes, but what worried her most was the threat that she had given. She wouldn't be showing off her kick if it were still attached to her. Waving off the idea she looked back to her sister as she explained why she was here and what was happening. The news had her paling a bit. Something was wrong with their mom? She seemed fine when she left to find Nadiya a while ago, this seemed sudden. "She looked fine when I came out here looking for you. I wonder what could have happened, it seems to be happening really fast." Puzzled she looked away for a moment. "I came out here looking for you, really. Home life wasn't the same after you left, you have no idea how many times I tried sneaking away from home. the boys always ratted me out though." She frowned crossing her arms. She hated her brothers ever still, she would get them back eventually.

"True, true." Nadiya nodded her head though she was still wary. The last thing she wanted was to return home only to bring their mother news that she had also allowed an insect to kill her other daughter. That would not be the most pleasant experience. Nadiya frowned before glancing back at Neryssa.
"It's not like she's dying." Nadiya quickly waved her hands as if to reassure her sibling, "Ahren just said she was feeling weak lately so I figured I could come home. Apparently it started out as a cold, but it's dragged on a bit more than it should." She tugged on a stray strand of hair thoughtfully, "I'm sure it'll be okay." It had to be, right?
"You...wait you did what?" Nadiya blinked in surprise as she studied her sister, "Neryssa..." The usually playful girl's gaze was solemn as she studied her sibling, "I'm sorry. I guess I truly didn't think of you guys. I was just so caught up in wanting to do my own thing. To play music without worrying about fighting mother over it." She sighed, "And of course the boys would rat you out - they'd miss you too much if you left. That and they do like to be trouble makers of course."
Nadiya forced a small smile, "Well it seems like i may be home for a little bit now. Would you want to come home with me now that we've found each other like this?"
