So at long last we have decided to release Elders properly into the shop. However we would like some customer input on how they should be released before making any final decisions.
Some questions we'd like answered are:
Originally Elders were supposed to be released as a perk for anyone who RP'ed and showed their characters growth and maturity that would then entitle them such an exalted status. Should RP remain part of the requirements? If so, how much RP? Should any RP count or should it have to show growth and development of the character? Should there be a time limit on how old an RP has to be for it to qualify or should any RP you've ever written with the character be acceptable?
Alternatively we have the option of a questionnaire. Since we know a lot of people RP off Gaia and may not have reliable logs to transcribe to the guild, this would be submitted in a thread where staff can look over your answers and get a feel for the pet in question. Questions would range from describing the pet's personality to talking about a life changing event that made them change and/or grow as an individual. Questions would be expected to be answered at a bare minimum of a paragraph (four sentences).
Age limit. Pretty straight forward. How old should a noodle have to be before attempting to try for an Elder stage. Six months? A year? More?
Bribes. Again straight forward. Should you be allowed to bribe for an Elder stage? This would be provided they are of age and approved by whatever method is decided.
Should there be limits on how often you can acquire an Elder stage? Every month? Every six months? Once a year?
How should Elders be given out that is not customs or bribes? Elders will not be released through regular customs at all, however should we give them out via auctions, raffles? Should they be special monthly events hosted in the same way colorists host god/dess contests?
And finally, what should be the actual perk of owning an Elder? An extra breeding slot? Extra bowls? An extra slot however would really only be usable provided both partners are Elders. An Elder/non Elder would have the standard three slots.
Your input would be most helpful and if anyone has any questions and/or concerns not mentioned here, please feel free to quote Mameha Otome or Lady Argentum Draconis to ensure an answer in a timely manner.
This thread will be open between now (Nov. 15th) until December 31st so that Elders can roll out at the beginning of next year.

I think the RP element should remain, but maybe have a certain number of completed RPs as well as an age limit?
And a questionnaire could ALSO be implemented just for the sake of "if the RPs aren't quite a full view on the personality of the noodle in question".
And rather than give out Elders, give out Elder Slots via Raffles and Auctions, for people who want to skip the requirements for their noodle to become an Elder?
And, so there's not a random surplus of Elders at the beginning of next year, maybe have 1-2 qualifying RPs out of, say 5-7 total that have to have been started and completed within the past few months, so people aren't digging for dusty threads for Eldership?

I don't really think I should be allowed to have an opinion on the rp aspect because I don't rp my noodles already. > w>;; However, I do think rp should be a part of the requirement because, if the noodle's going to be a super special awesome elder, they should be more of an established character through rp. I think the idea of an "elder quest" sort of thing would be fun, too, maybe with something that has to do with the Noodle's personal interests. IDK, take what I say with a grain of salt.
I agree with Cheza's suggestion for elder slots as raffle/auction prizes, too. Monthly elder events would be a great idea as well!
I think the noodle should be at least six months old, maybe more, and that each user should be allowed one elder "ascension" per two months at least. I.E. User A wins Elder slot for Noodle 1 in January. User A can win another slot for Noodle 2 in March. The month in between can be used to gather rps for the next ascension.
I also think an additional breeding slot would be pretty damn awesome. I mean, I can tell you that I would absolutely peruse the elder stage for Seth and Shayden if that were a perk. I know you can get mock babies, but a fourth litter for them would make me SO happy. They're my babies and I want them to be SWAMPED with children.

I think RP should be a requirement for Elder status. Especially if they are going to have a different look. Say 5-10 finished RPs before the month they can be picked.
Since more people RP out of the guild, I think a questionnaire is okay. It doesn't feel quite right for those who do the RP requirements in guild or transcribed into the guild.
Age...I think 6 months is fine, for the starting point. They can use RPs from kit to that age and on as how they have changed over their RPs.
Elders seem more like a special happening to an adult noodle, so bribing for them seems wrong, along with customs. Unless being given out for an event, story line in shop. Otherwise they will be sought after even more. So depending on how many of the colorists are doing the Elders, have a thread where people can post when said noodle is ready to be looked at to become an Elder. So every quarter there can be a chance of Elders happening. That way there is no over whelming colorist with having to look over.
Perk: Extra bowls. Unless if after they become an Elder and have used their original 3 slots, they get their fourth breeding slot.

RP:
-I like it when RP is required but not an extensive amount.
-I think an application with a single RP showing if elder status is something the pet in question should get would be good enough.
-The RP should be fresh and all new. No digging for dusty old threads!
Questionnaire:
-A good alternative for those of us who don't have the time or energy to properly RP our characters. I know myself and other people have extensive histories/storylines for our characters that, due to reasons, aren't RP'd out, but instead plotted/backplotted. That doesn't make them any less than chararacters that are RP'd.
Age limit:
- I feel like Elder status should be reserved for older Noodles. 1 Year+. Not only does this prevent people from elder-ing noodles that are fresh, but it also gives a lot of time to develop personalities/stories.
Bribes:
-Yes. Bribes ARE for special things, after all. But you cannot bribe for a from-scratch elder, you can only bribe for an existing noodle to attain elderhood.
Limits:
- Yes. Every 6 Months or Once a year. This would hopefully prevent the same people from winning over and over, if Elder ascensions aren't held often enough.
Other Releases:
- Special events and Raffles.
Perks:
-Extra bowls. Base of 4 with a chance of 5.
-Maybe special Elder-Only RP events?
-Extra breeding slot IF Lifemated for 2/3 or 3/3 of their original breeding slots, extending to their Lifemate. Also counts as lifemating perk I guess!
Other:
-Elder Gods? How do?
-Limit on cosplays becoming elders?

To clear up some questions:
Gods cannot and probably will never be able to ascend to Elder status. They are already at the pinnacle of their power and abilities once they reach adulthood. Anything further would be overkill.
Cosplays:
In regard to this subject I am going to refer it back to you, the customers.
Should cosplays be allowed to become elders at all, since their creation, personality and growth was developed predominately through the source material they originated from?
Or
Should elders be the sole domain of the original characters that you have developed? (Note: Children of cosplays would be allowed elder status provided they are not canon to the parents in question.)

I don't think cosplays should be allowed to reach elder status, unless they have some super special other form in their show/manga/whatever that can be used solely for the elder stage. (Like, say, a Sailor Moon cosplay with an elder form that's her princess form or eternal sailor form) Otherwise, cosplays are already special enough and should stay true to their canon forms by not becoming elders.
Children of cosplays on the other hand, sure, unless they're canon characters.

~ I think that a questionnaire or a log would be a good idea. And I agree it would be nice for them to be answered in detail to show concern and care for the noodle to get the reward of elder
~ A lot can happen in a year or less but I think if the noodle is not activate then it should have to wait a longer time period before apply for elder. If the noodle is active in events, or rps and show progress then they should be allowed to try for an elder slot
~ I do not think that it is fair to do bribes, I think it should be earned and bribe would or could cause too many elders to show up.
~I think there should be a limit to how many can be acquired at one time. I think maybe three per every six months max
~I thank customs are a good idea but a rare custom. Raffles could be a good idea but there should be a limit like the same person can not win a elder raffle twice in a row. A monthly event could be a good way to go about it or maybe a contest to show growth or activity in shop or rps
~I think an extra breeding spot would be good, Or maybe elders could win points to help the owner get an custom or semi custom noodle. Maybe the owner of the elder can keep an extra bowl from a breeding
