Kobe had spoken with the King and Queen of the Baharim'toto and received his formal welcome to join their pride. The Bahari was everything that he had been searching for all those years alongside his younger brother. The salty aroma of the ocean brought back memories of their old pride, the Simbafutaji. Already he felt the edges of his coat curl in response to the air.

While Maji was less than enthused, and reluctant to commit to joining just yet, he wanted to spend a bit more time with his sibling before splitting off on his own. The pair had been together for over five years, exploring the various prides and meeting a wide array of curious individuals. Maji was young when their previous pride had fallen apart, though the loss of their mother had certainly affected the both of them.

"What now? Meet the ladies?"

The dark lioness lay upon a rocky outcrop. She still liked to stay near the edges of the pride. She had grown up as a rogue and she found it hard to truely meld with the prides inhabitants. She has joined in during the event recently and she had made a couple of friends while in there midst of partying but still she had yet to find as place within the pride that she truely belonged.

Her quiet moment with her toes dangling in the sand was interrupted by voices. Lifting her head the sea marked lioness looked at the two males, and taking a deep breath, greeted them "Good morning." She smiles nervously, they maybe wouldn't want to speak to her, they seemed to be related. Still at least she had managed a greeting to the two males, that was pretty much more than usual.

The greeting drew the darker of the two brother's attention first. Maji flashed a charming smile before beginning to make his way over in Livyathan's direction. "Afternoon!" He called out in response. The lean and slender body types of both males suggested a life of travel in the roguelands. It may have been their shared 'otherness' which drew them to one another among the curly Bahari natives.

While he was less prepared than his brother, he remained as friendly. Kobe followed suit behind Maji and offered a small up-nod of his head in greeting. He could let his younger brother take the lead, but it was he who was a full fledged member of the pride. Opening his mouth to speak-

"-You from around here?" Maji interrupted. "You see, my brother here," He gestured with a paw to the larger of the two of them. "Just signed up to build houses or somesuch. Would be great to have a friendly face show him around. Me? I'm not sure i'm quite ready to settle down."

It seemed they were in the mood to talk after all. This of course lead to an interesting problem. What should she talk about? Being used to speaking so little it was, at times, difficult for her to raise her voice, still she could muster up some sort of conversation.

Luckily one of the males gave her an opportunity to speak about the bahari. "Yes I live here but I haven't always." She nodded to the quieter of the two males and smiled. "I was born in the rogue lands but I have lived here for a while now among the fishes." She chuckles, it was a sweet pun she had heard many of the doting parents use for their children.

Turning her deep pink gaze on Kobe she let out a gentle breath "You won't regret it, it is beautiful here." She whispers casting a far away look towards the sea.

Maji might not have picked up on the female's reluctance to speak, but Kobe was more empathic than his brother. "I hope we're not troubling you." If the unfamiliar lioness desired her privacy, the older male wanted to ensure that she had every opportunity to speak her mind.

When she made mention of the roguelands, however, a gentle smile tugged at the edge of Kobe's mouth. "Ah! So you're another transplant then?" That immediately gave the two of them some common ground. "And how long ago did you first arrive?"

As Livya's gaze drifted out toward the ocean, Kobe's followed suit. "It really is," He spoke softly in agreement. Returning his attention to the female lioness (and occasionally to his brother), he went on. "The ocean has always been near and dear to my heart. We grew up on the coast when we were cubs." Maji flashed his brother a look that suggested he was surprised Kobe would talk about it so soon.

"Any advice to somebody new?"

Leviathan looked between the two males her magenta eyes trying to link them together they certainly looked alike. This of course was confirmed when one of the males said they were brothers. She supposed she should have guessed. She smiled a light smile, she didn't want to force it but it seemed there was more conversation to be had.

"Yes, I moved here a little while ago." She sighs a little and chuckles "I'v been here long enough to be good at my job, but its a little difficult to be close to a pride when you are used to being alone." She wrinkles her nose and flickers her tail. "It doesn't look like you two have that problem though."

"It is lovely here, its the main reason i decided to stay."

"Where all did you travel beforehand? I can assure you that there is beauty all across the savannah," Maji replied quite matter-of-factly. Five years wandering alongside his brother had inflated his ego in regards to his worldliness. Whether he seemed to agree with the sentiment that the Bahari was gorgeous wasn't entirely clear. Either way, it was obvious that he seemed to feel it wasn't the only place worthy of such a description and that beauty alone wasn't enough to make him stay.

Kobe, on the other hand, seemed more interested in learning about Livya's experiences with the Bahari and what all they had in common. "What is it that you do? If you don't mind my asking, that is. I think my brother said something before, but to clarify, i'm one of the builders. I've always liked putting things together. I've always been something of a crafter... though, i'm not known for my fine or intricate details." Jewelry-making and the like was much more challenging with large and clumsy paws.

"But you're still able to travel?" Maji added again, without too much concern for the list of questions that were being thrown onto the unsuspecting female. "You feel trapped or boxed in? Why not get the heck out of here? Maybe not forever, but who is the stop you for sleeping in the roguelands a night or two?"

Liviyathan looked at the two males and let a little chuckle roll over her lips. "I'm a guard, it lets me sit on the borders but still be a member of the pride. I don't want to leave, I love it here, the safety of a pride suits me I enjoy the company occasionally, I love the sea." She pauses and looks between the two males.

"I wandered the rogue lands, between prides for a long time, the sea was the only thing that kept me in one place and when I found the bahari, it was home."

"Guard," Maji repeated with a little stretch. It was evident in his lackluster response that he didn't find such a position especially interesting. No, standing at the edge of a pride wouldn't be enough for the darker of the two brothers. He needed a bit more bite to what he did. "I can't say i'd have the patience for such a thing, but hey... there's a reason there are generally more than a couple options, I figure."

Kobe, on the other hand, was entranced by the story which Leviathan shared with them. It seemed to resonate with him, perhaps, because it was so similar to his own. "I know what you mean," He shared with a wide smile. "There's something... calming about the sea. Something steadying. When Maji and I were travelling, we'd spend weeks at the waters edge, following the coast from one day into the next. In some ways for me, it feels like an anchor, keeping me grounded when it feels I might need it most." Which, during the disbanding of the Simbafutaji, they had absolutely needed it.

"Do you have any stories from your time as a guard? Curious sights at the edge of the pridelands?" He was genuinely curious.

Liviyathan looked between the two brothers. She faintly wondered how two creatures that were so closely related could be so different? It made her smile. She couldn't really remember her own family, she had been very young when her mother had gone and she had no siblings to speak of. "It must be nice to have a family even if you don't see eye to eye." She mused out loud her magenta eyes flicking between the two males.

"I'm afraid I'v never seen anything of interest if I am honest with you. Most of my shifts are spent watching inwards. I'v seen a few little scuffles between pride members and a lot of rogues coming to see the sea but as I said, it isnt really in my nature to join in too much." She laughs gently "I'm sorry, I'm afraid my life here isnt much of a selling point. For me its just a beautiful place to live that I want to protect, that's all."

"Absolutely," Kobe replied without hesitation. Despite any of their frustrations with one another, Maji had helped to keep him alive in the roguelands all of those years. Not only through finding resources and hunting together, but in keeping their spirits high. Maji had always turned their travels into some kind of adventure, pointing out the incredible sights and explaining how all of their experiences only made them more knowledgeable and full of depth. There was, of course, some truth to his words, even if his motives at the time had simply been to ease that ache in their hungry bellies.

"We might but heads, but I wouldn't trade him for the world." The older of the two didn't seem the type to shy away from emotion and attachment.

Maji, on the other hand, couldn't hold back an eye roll. "Geez," He exclaimed with some level of embarrassment. Maybe he cared what the pretty female thought of him after all?

Or maybe not. With a raised brow, the darker male went on the ask rather boldly, "Really? I can't help, but feel like maybe you're selling yourself short. You seem intrigued by the beauty around you and hey, while I get not quite getting on with strangers-" He gestured toward himself with mock-surprise. "-I know, hard to believe that I, too, am not a people-person. You don't want something more? You're not afraid of settling?"

The dark female shook her head "I'm already settled." She smiled stretching out her paws. She opened her mouth as if to say more and closed it again a sigh rolling over her lips. "It was nice to speak to you." She pauses for a moment "I need to go, I didn't realise the time." She turns her gaze to the sea stretching her toes in the sand. "I'm sure we will see each other again."

Nodding her head the dark female trotted off down the beach towards the dens to find out where she would be stationed today. This had been an interesting meeting for her she wasnt sure she had such a long conversation since she had joined the pride, it was nice, maybe she would try and have more.

Woot! Scene! Thank you!

Kobe cast a sideways glance to Maji, as though to suggest that they might be losing their conversation companion due to his rude comments. Without saying anything to his brother, he returned his attention to Levi and quickly gave a wide smile. "It was a pleasure to meet you! I do hope we'll cross paths again."

Maji didn't seem phased by his brother's silent chiding and simply shrugged his shoulders as the group parted ways.
