So she had willingly come with him to come to the Pride on the ocean shore. He was glad she had trusted him, he prided himself on the fact he was honest and trustworthy, occasionally he had a slick paw and would relocate items but other than that, trusty. His gaze danced over towards his traveling companion and he gave her a smile. "So, what would you like to know?" He had the inkling to nickname her sunflower. It could be her gypsy name. Not that she was joining the pride or anything she just wanted to visit it. "I'm an open book."

As the pair walked alongside one another, a thousand voices spoke at the edge of Jua's mind. Was it entirely safe to trust the word of a handsome, but unfamiliar rogue? Hadn't her family warned her to be cautious? What sort of precautions was she expected to take? Audibly, she released only a soft breath as she pushed her concerns away for the moment. Maybe this was actually the beginning of the adventure she had always dreamed of?
When Asker's voice broke the silence, a wide smile spread across the golden lioness' face. Without her worries holding her back, she gave off such a pure and vibrant glow of excitement.
"What are your favorite places to go within your pride? Everybody has those, right? A secret nook at the edge of the Pridelands where you can see unfamiliar and familiar faces pass one another in their travels," One might presume she was referring to a place dear to her back home. "Or maybe a beautiful source of water where prey and predator remain neutral in one another's company?"

Kieko Soooooo sorry. Just poke me and remind me if it takes this long. I knew I was forgetting something. What are the other ones I owe? At her question he smiled. There were so many favorite places for him to go but there was one in particular that he loved most of all. "I like to go to the seashore. It's definitely my favorite place in the pride." The reminder of the salt in the air and the way it coated so many of the things, especially branches. He always had a fondness of chewing on those. "Though I do have to say, stuff like what you mentioned would be a nice spot indeed." He gave her a small wink. "What is your favorite place to go?" He inquired since she hadn't really said if she had a favorite spot of her own.

AstoriaFallen No worries at all! I was gone for most of Dec on vacation anyhow! The holidays understandably kept quite a few of us busy. Jua listened to Asker's answer with a sense of eager excitement. Anything he might have shared with her would have been entirely new. She'd only heard the barest of rumors about the surrounding prides. Though, she'd also spent the majority of her youth especially cautious to remain only within the Pridelands territory. Seeing more than a couple injured pridemates had done enough to frighten her from ever stepping foot outside. As an adult, however, she had come to realize that some experiences were worth the risk.
"The sea?" She repeated with a wide smile. "I've never been. The water is..." She thought of how best to phrase her question. "It's different there, isn't it? Not like the watering holes in the Pridelands." From what she understood, there was something about it that made it unsuitable for drinking. "Do you swim? Is it dangerous?"
When he asked about her own favorite spots, she let out a light laugh. "I believe i've already given myself away. The place I mentioned before, the secret nook? There was place in particular that i'd frequent. A narrow path which followed up an exceptionally tall rock. It was close enough to the border to provide a great place to overlook interactions between our pride and the roguelands." Somewhat sheepishly, she added. "I suppose it was as close as I came to exploring."

He loved the interest she had for his pride and he smiled. "It is very different from the water around here." While it wasn't at all drinkable it was still useful for stuff, especially cleaning out wounds. "I think you'll enjoy it though. I don't want to spoil too much for you before we get there." He watched the yellow female curiously. He felt somewhat protective of her in a way that was new to him. While he was guarding of his siblings this was a different type of protective. Though he also wanted to be able to give her the world or at least show it to her. "I never would have guessed that was what you were talking about." He humored her with her answer to his earlier question. "At least you'll be able to say you got out into the world now."

Jua seemed especially amused when Asker refused to spoil the reveal for when they arrived. It only made her a little more anxious about showing up, but surprises could also be exciting!
The golden colored lioness glanced over to him while the two of them walked toward the Kizingo'zaa. His response drew a soft laugh before she narrowed her eyes and shook her head. She'd given herself away, but her favorite spot had been fairly important to her growing up.
"I look forward to getting there," She commented. Giving herself a quick look over, she wondered how brightly the coats of the Kizingo lions would be. In the Pridelands, she entirely blended in with the prevalent blonde and tan coats which were so common. Would they know she wasn't nearly as worldly as many of them? Would that be a problem for her?
She bit down on asking how much longer he thought it'd take. Everything felt like it took longer when you were nervous about getting there. With her tail flicking about behind her - a small show of excitement and nerves - she followed him on their path.

[quote="Kieko"mobile and sick so this may be short lol]
He was pleased she was excited to see his pride and he gave her a smile. "Do you have anyone that will miss you back home?" He was curious, family was important in his eyes. He supposed he could have asked sooner donate could have let others know?
He was curious if she had a love interest too. He wasn't a spring chicken anymore. "My family never really frets when I disappear for a while." It was common for patrons to be gone for a few days at a time.

The question jarred the young lioness back to reality. Here she was, running away with a complete stranger to join a foreign land she knew nothing about. For all she knew, she could be running directly into danger. While there wasn't anything about Asker which seemed to make her nervous - and Jua felt confident in her ability to read others - she didn't know too much about him or where they were going. She tried to ease her concerns with the reminder that it was a surprise to be revealed and she could always change her mind once she got there.
After a brief moment of pause with some internal reflection, she finally answered in a soft voice, "Y-yea." It was clear that she might have been second guessing her crazy decision, but wasn't going to turn back now. "My parents, siblings... the rabbits." The last part might have required a little explaining. Glancing over to Asker, she clarified. "I actually have an enorrmmoous family. We've always been close, but... also kind of distant. There are so many of us, there's always been someone around. But, my parents were young when they had us. Not really especially attached. There's something about big families that allows you to get lost in the shuffle. And the rabbits... they're something of a trademark in our family. We've always had them around. They've grown up alongside us."
She shook her head gently. "Man... I'm sorry. I sort of rambled there a bit." Her cheeks took on a pale pink in coloration. There was, however, no romantic interests mentioned.

As he waited for her to respond he walked along in silence, lost in his thoughts. His sister would definitely want to show Jua around, perhaps even decorate her mane with some beads and feathers. The thought made him laugh lightly to himself and then he turned his attention towards her as she spoke. Rabbits? Well, his sister had a rabbit so that would be something they could talk about too! "I totally get that. I have quite a large family myself. As you'll soon see when we get there." He said with a small chuckle. "And don't worry about the rambling, it was nice hearing some about you and your family." At the rate they were traveling they should be there in the next day or so. "You might have a lot more in common with me and my family than you thought." He gave her a wink. He didn't want to ruin her meeting Nemmie, his sisters rabbit when she got there.

That Asker spoke so fondly of his sisters seemed to be something that Jua admired. While she had her own familial issues, she'd also love them. Without their support, she would probably never had gathered the courage to finally leave the pridelands to explore what else was out there.
"Do many of your pridemates have familiars?" While she didn't have one of her own, it might come up in the future. In hindsight, leaving with one of the family's rabbits might not have been the worst idea. At least then she would have had a piece of them with her. "Any in particular?"
Reflecting back on her family, she thought out loud. "It's interesting, I think... My grandmother was born in the roguelands. She always wanted a better life for herself and for her future cubs. She fell in love with a Pridelander and they settled in there. My uncle left to join the Firekin when he fell in love with a lioness between our borders. They were only cubs then." Her cheeks burned a brighter pink. "The story is actually quite cute... My point is. We have a long history of leaving one place to find our home somewhere else. And here I am..."

"Oh yes, quite a few have familiars." He said thinking of some of the different varieties their pride had within their midst. He listened as she spoke about her family and it made him smile. "That's really awesome." He was quite fond of romances like that, they were so spontaneous and unexpected. Looking around as the sun was starting to set he located a decent spot to rest for the night. "We should probably rest here and then continue on in the morning." He suggested.

AstoriaFallen Looks like a good place to wrap up here? Want to start the next thread within the Kizi? "Oh, alright," Jua replied with a little disappointment. It was evident that she was excited to arrive, especially with all of the surprises that Asker wanted to leave for when they got there. Instead, she helped him to find a safe space for them to settle down and curled up for them to spend the night. They were still relatively new to one another, but cold weather would prompt curling up close to keep warm.
