APPEARANCE
Standing at 5'11", Bodie is built slim, lean and lightly toned. His skin is naturally a light tawny brown (thanks to his mum's half-Paiute blood), with a smattering of freckles across his face. He has a strong, almost Roman nose and a slightly pouty mouth, and eyes that are nearly black, narrow-ish and hooded and topped by heavy straight black brows. He usually looks somewhere between faintly confused and wary, when he's really just lost in thought. His nearly waist-length hair is a warm sable black with a gentle wave to it; he pulls it back into a ponytail or braid when he's working but wears it loose otherwise.
Bodie dresses the part of a steampunk even in his mundane life. His clothing largely consists of long-sleeved henleys, button-up shirts with the sleeves rolled up, or tank tops paired with close-fitting cargo pants or skinny jeans held up by leather suspenders, and steel-toe combat boots, all in various shades of sepia, white and black. He tarts himself up for steampunk events by adding a top hat adorned with goggles, a leather vest or jacket, tall Demonia boots, various pieces of jewelry, and an elaborate leather toolbelt and leg harness suspended from a belt. At work it's simple coveralls. Regardless of what he's wearing, there is always the inevitable grease-smudge somewhere on him that he's neglected to clean off.

PERSONALITY
Soft-spoken and eccentric, Bodie's an old-fashioned gentleman who likes pretty much everyone, despite being so focused on his work that he can inadvertently come across as rude on occasion. An extroverted introvert, he's not shy or reclusive by any stretch but he needs serious alone time in his workshop with his projects to recharge after interacting in large social gatherings. There is a sense of childlike wonder about him, a tendency to look on the bright side of everything, and in truth, he is a rather naive person; he believes in the basic goodness of people, and trusts them to ultimately do the right thing. He is also blunt and honest to a fault, even in circumstances where honesty isn't necessarily the best policy.
Bodie is deeply into the steampunk subculture, in love with the aesthetic and the clothes and the music; he's quick to point out that he is not one of those Victorian-goths-with-gears-glued-on types. In true steampunk fashion, he is an inveterate tinkerer and mad DIYer. He loves taking things apart to see how they work, then putting them back together again or rebuilding them altogether into something completely different. It's not just fun, it's educational, too, in that he invariably learns something that he can use as inspiration to create something else. He takes great pleasure in designing and constructing fun little steam-powered machines for his fellow retro-futurists, amazing people with his creations and scribbling out ideas for new inventions. Steam technology in particular fascinates him on multiple levels; among other things, he has plans for a steam engine that could theoretically power modern-day cars. Someday...
