To play the character of your dreams as a member of an elite group of people touched or gifted by the whims of the Multiverse King! Need to hear more? I didn't think so! But I'll tell you anyway...

How does the contest work?
Answer: Each RP'er will have the opportunity to conceive a character of whatever class, power type, and item loadout that they desire...so long as those designs are somewhat within reasonable power limits! If you've ever wanted a Persona-User of a specific type, a character based on the Murakumo Items, or a raving mad Strega Executive, now is your chance to create them!

Answer: Simply copy a character creation format from the Profile Skeleton section and fill it out in the style that you desire, then send it to Arena Emperor in a PM titled 'I Swear Fealty to the Multiverse King'! Any questions that you have about the character's story, where they come from, their powers, etc. can be directed to Arena Emperor on Skype!

Answer: Yes! But if they are related to anyone who isn't yours, you must have expressed permission by the character's owner to do so! If it is your own character, you must introduce them in a way that is acceptable to the logic of the Guild. You may also use an existing character and simply change or create an all-new loadout for them as a gift from the Multiverse King, if you choose!

Name: Shinnosuke Sakurazaka aka "Shinya Sakai" Nickname: The Sublime Master Thief, The Springtime Shadow Thief, "Tsubaki Dark" Age: 18 Appearance: Parents: Sai Sakurazaka and Suzume Kirihara Love Interest: ??? Personality: There are two sides to Shinya that are constantly at flux within himself. One one hand, there is the side which he inherited from his father which compels him to be calm, cunning, and cool, a mystery and a hero who says little, keeps to himself, and rejects praise and pomp. And then there is the side which he inherited from his mother, a more innocent and energetic side...which enjoys showy displays proudly proclaiming himself to be the 'Sublime Master Thief, Tsubaki Dark' or what have you. It sees him talking in bunches all at once, in a flamboyant and almost NEET fashion. The former is the side he likes to show, but the latter is the side that slips out when he gets going. Both are true to who he is and where he comes from. And neither is the complete picture for anybody who seeks to know him. Bio: From the jump, it is important to know that Shinya is a young man who comes from a world that is outside and different from the one that you are familiar with...he is not a resident of this world, nor is he a resident of the Bad Future from which the Travelers of Time come. Instead, Shinya was born into and raised in a world in which his father's quest to defeat the Lin Kuei Crime Syndicate in Oshu City...to thwart its expansion outside of the city, its growth as a military and criminal power...was derailed by happenstance. Rather than victory in the final confrontation between the two, the unexpected intervention of a child soldier in the Syndicate caused Sai's resolve to kill his old partner to waver for just a moment...allowing Jian to slip away and Sai's ultimate moment for victory to fall by the wayside.
Soon after, the Lin Kuei's rise accelerated to speeds impossible to stop...the city of Oshu becoming practically bought and paid for within 6 months...and it was when the manhunt for Shinya's father Sai reached the doorstep of his apartment with his new wife Suzume still carrying their son that he knew the only safe choice was to escape and put distance between themselves and Oshu...eventually settling on the Island of Shikoku near the old Iyo Province and the unusually-peaceful castle nearby. It was there that Shinya was raised, aware from his youth that he and his father were hunted men, that supernatural assassins would always be hunting them, and that if they wished to survive in a cruel new reality that they would have to continue to grow, to learn, to fight. His father was a wunderkind at such things, however despite Shinya's inhuman talent he was not his father...and he had to learn and develop his own style in order to survive and oppose those who would have their lives.
Growing up training with his father, avoiding assassins, and fighting back against the Lin Kuei meant that Shinya grew up unlike most children. He learned to fight, he learned stealth, he learned how to be cunning and to think ten steps ahead of his enemy...he learned how to survive with a target on your back and how to fight back against those who would kill you. But whereas his father fought more directly, Shinya chose a different path. Shinya chose the path...of the Thief. To stay to the shadows, to pickpocket a man looking directly at you, to steal anything and everything and thwart those who would harm you. And whereas they sought to kill him, he never sought to do the same to them...his mother's pity and his father's ferocity. Those were the traits that defined the type of fighter he became.
The majority of his teen years, then, were spent opposing the Lin Kuei in his own way...stealing precious items, precious shipments, weapons, information, whatever his father wished or whatever he desired he would procure from his enemies and then escape without a scratch. That, as it happened, became his true superpower...his very own talent. And upon his 18th Birthday, he came into an item that changed him forever...
...The Grand Panacea. One drink, and he knew that the world would never be the same for him again. One drink...and he became immortal, though not without the warnings of all the drawbacks that his father knew about. But this was just another step in the growth of a Sublime Master Thief, as he began to call himself. His greatest heist came soon thereafter...and it was this heist, along with his increasingly-singular existence in Japan as an enemy to the more and more powerful Syndicates...that brought him to the attention of the Multiverse King.
...The new Administrator between worlds and the replacement for the now-defeated Polaris, the Multiverse King was much more mischievous than his predecessor, and much more willing to bargain with humans and other lifeforms...mostly for his own amusement. In the case of Shinya, the bargain that the Multiverse King...who was amused by him already...was the opportunity to enter into a world where he could steal an item that would help him change the course of fate within his own world. The catch...was that whenever the Multiverse King should call upon aid to oppose threats to the stability of the world and the Timelines of the Multiverse...the Sublime Master Thief would answer the call.
And though his mother worried and objected to his leaving their time, though his father warned him against the dangers of the journey, Shinya...as he called himself to mask his identity as Sai's son 'Shinnosuke'...knew that this was a task that he had to accept. For his own sake, for his family's sake, for Japan's sake...the risks were worth it for himself and any who would be asked to join him.
His world needed to be saved...and if the Sublime Master Thief's unique talents could be put to good use protecting all of Time and Space as well? There wasn't an item in the Multiverse that would be safe from his hands...

Primary Motivator: Recognition. At home, Siona is mostly known as one of Kyori's subordinates - and while she both loves and respects her mother, she wants to be recognized as independently worthy and valuable by her peers. A few notable needs to her name, such as protecting the timestream of a world, is a good way of getting that attention.
Emotional Disposition: Calm. Siona is typically a positive person - like most Japanese deities, she can be vengeful if angered, but she's usually sedate.
Moodiness: Labile. Despite her calm disposition, though, Siona is often quick to change her moods - when something nice happens, she's happy. When something offensive happens, she gets angry. She's also fairly easy to placate. Notably, she feels almost obligated to react in certain ways to certain things due to her position - she tends to be softer on people she likes and harsher on those she doesn't.
Outlook: Upbeat. Siona has a basically positive view of the world - she understands that there are problems and troubles, but as a protective goddess, her very existence involves helping resolve such things.
Integrity: Honest. Siona is fundamentally trustworthy - most of the time. Foxes are notorious pranksters in the pantheon, and she's no exception to that. When she's not messing with someone, though, her word is good.
Impulsiveness: Spontaneous. Siona tends to live in the moment, and aside from her long-term goals, she doesn't worry too much about the past or the future.
Boldness: Confident. Siona is quite intrepid, and has little fear of most things she encounters. This might have something to do with the fact that her body is just an avatar...
Agreeableness: Warm. When she's not offended by something, Siona is generally welcoming and friendly to others. She's forgiving when they apologize, tolerant of mistakes as long as people make a genuine effort, and altruistic towards those who need help. She's especially fond of those who give her offerings, since those are a part of the recognition she seeks.
Interactivity: Engaging. Siona is quite cheerful and willing to chat with others about various subjects, and she can be rather candid when she's doing so. Like most deities, she is fundamentally social, and actively seeks interactions with people.
Conformity: Conventional. Siona is fairly normal for her kind, and generally supports the heavenly deities of Japan.
Sense of Humor: Prankster. Like most fox deities, Siona is inordinately fond of pranks, and has been known to tease those she likes. However, these pranks never extend to the point of being actively harmful - she wants to be known as benevolent, after all, and negative attention isn't the kind of recognition she wants.
Adherence of Faith: Strong adherence. She is a deity, after all.
Tolerance of Faith: Inclusive. She's more than willing to accept that others have different beliefs - after all, there are many deities in their pantheon, and she doesn't consider that to be a bad thing. That said, she flips over to intolerant when dealing with those who are actively hostile to her pantheon.
Bio: Siona is the daughter of Kyori Hoshiko, one of the Tenko (heavenly fox spirits) of the Japanese pantheon. Though not as strong as her mother, Siona is a low-ranked goddess in her own right, and has served her mother for at least several hundred years. More recently, though, Kyori asked Siona to travel to a certain world after the timestream was nearly broken by certain... individuals.
Given her lesser degree of power, Siona needed some help for the trip, and that was where the Multiverse King - who had reasons of his own for sending people to that particular world - decided to lend a hand...

Name: Suika Ibuki Nicknames: "Watermelon" Age:I'unno, pretty old. I lost count after 1000 or somewhere Appearance: Clan: Oni Rank Leader Love Interest: Personality: Jovial and carefree, Suika doesn't let herself get too agitated by problems. She also loves drinking, and despite her coherency, has stated several times to have not been sober in centuries.
When it comes to humans, Suika finds them often to be good drinking mates, people who are at their best when they are just relaxing and drinking all of their cares away. She also doesn't mind being around other demons like herself, but the ones from her own dimension were too strung up in their own machinations that they didn't know how to relax.
Despite her constant drunkenness and happy-go-lucky nature, she is quite observant of what goes around her, and is quite blunt when giving people what she believes they deserve.
Being an Oni, she is quite honor driven, and despises trickery and lies, but is not so driven as to stomp them out completely. Bio: It was never a thought to even go on this adventure. But then again, she never even expected to meet him.
Suika originated from a realm where chaos and antics ran amok, but there was never any true threat abound. Most of the time, she would spend just drinking or testing feats of strength among others. Sometimes, others would drink with her, but she was never too saddened by only drinking by herself.
It was then, during the local passing by of drinking with the sakura blossoms in full bloom, that she had met someone that was completely new to her, but also gave off the air of competency. It was then, Suika noticed the veil of her own world that she had knew of for several centuries, possibly even millenias if she could kept count, slip away from sight. It was then, she was posed a question: Would she help him with his mission? But, before he could explain all of his reasonings and what it pertained, Suika quickly interjected with her own statement; that she would give thought to it if he could handle a day of oni festivities, since it was just the eve of the festival.
The festivities went on for a while, and at the peak, she challenged the mysterious person to a drink-off. He seemed pretty formitable, but there was no real knowledge of who won, Suika blacked out before she could discern who did. But afterwards, she confronted them about the question they had posed before, and agreed to join them on their quest. It would probably be a long time before she could see her old friends, if ever, but she was hopeful to see many more new friends.

At the cost of risking becoming drunk if drinking isn't spaced out with 3 posts in between... Oni's Thirst - Becoming 'Drunk' doesn't hinder Suika the same as other people. If Suika downs too much Sake at once, she'll enter a state similar to confusion for 3 turns known as [Drunk], which cannot be cured by traditional methods, but grants a Double-tarukaja boost for said turns. During which, roll 1-6, with the results... 1. Suika attacks an Ally. [Basic Physical attack] 2. Suika does nothing. 3. Suika Attacks an Enemy [Basic Physical attack] 4. Suika Attacks an Enemy with a [Skill] 5. Suika Does nothing. 6. Suika strikes an ally with a [Skill] Manipulation of Density - Suika has a unique skill that gives her an edge and diversifies her from other Oni... Bio: Leif Wolfgang, born to mother Arimina Wolfgang of the Lin Kuei Crime Syndicate of Oshu never met his father, as was the way of many children in the Family. It was considered normal to have one, if not both, parents at least missing, or known to have been devoured by other members. Arimina was a very doting parent, and she pampered Leif from the moment he was born, but she was never controlling, and allowed the young boy free reign to explore the mountains around their rural home, outside of the city. Such an upbringing gave him his carefree personality, and a slightly wild look in his eyes that never left him. Years went by, and as he aged his mother became a more active member of the Family again, sometimes bringing him with her to learn of the future he would have.
When he was thirteen, he was brought before the Family head, Jian Lin Kuei, and something instantly changed inside him. Before him stood a man of true power, true bearing, true nobility, and Leif knew he would serve, and serve well. For months after that meeting, he studied hard, he already had an affinity for animals, from his own heritage as well as the time he spent exploring the mountains, and he focused his research and experimentation on that field, while striving to emulate the power he felt from Jian. On his fourteenth birthday, he attained his ability. Through whistling he could put animals of lower intelligence into a completely obedient state, one where they would follow his every whim.
Having his own ability, now, allowed him to throw himself into work for the Family, certain jobs only a someone his age could do, and he revelled in them, with his animal companions, growing ever more brutal in the execution of his orders. He quickly made his way through the lower ranks of the Family, becoming a valued member in his own right, and halfway through his sixteenth year he was granted the Grand Panacea all members sought. Now immortal, Leif visited his mother, Arimina, and she, trusting in her own son, let down the guard all Family have around each other, and hugged him, proud of her son.
This proved to be her downfall, however, as all Leif saw before him was a woman who had powers he desired. And so he devoured her, in the same way he heard his father, and many other members of the Lin Kuei, had been devoured before, laughing all the while, feeling his mother's powers, her memories, flood into him, including her most recent memory, extreme pride in her son, and an exceedingly short-lived burst of fear and surprise as she realised what he was doing. Leaving his now dead mother's home, he returned to to Headquarters, and was promoted to a direct underling of Jian's Second in Command.
Every moment he wasn't busy on a mission for the Family, and they were fewer these days, most of them being handled by weaker members, Leif trained his body, or his abilities, focusing heavily on the shapeshifting ability, rather than his teleportation, both received from his mother, and his own, self-developed ability, and quickly became far superior, physically, to what his mother ever was. On his seventeenth birthday, Leif decided he was ready, and, meeting the Second in Command, quickly turned on him in a surprise attack.
It didn't go exactly to plan, however, as the man was strong enough to be only one step under Jian himself, and Leif's first assault was beaten back, giving his opponent long enough to activate his own ability, freezing Leif with the most crippling fear he had ever felt. He tried to run, but found he couldn't move an inch, not even falling to the ground as his opponent moved in and began to beat him. Suddenly, something in Leif snapped, and he no longer felt any fear. He thought for a moment that the Second in Command had let up, but he discarded that notion immediately, the man was still attacking him.
Whatever it was, Leif didn't care, and he quickly altered his form, growing in size and power, until he was a giant half-wolf half-man hybrid. Grabbing the man before him, he pulled without even trying, and arms tore out of their sockets, to be thrown aside haphazardly. Leif swung wildly, and sent the armless body in front of him flying into the wall with a dull thud. Striding his way across the room, Leif picked up his opponents body, and placed his right hand on it's bloody head. Instantly, he devoured this man the same way he had his mother, and felt both power and memories flood into himself. The power he didn't much care for, but the memories he did.
Without even changing his shape back to his natural form, Leif strode through the halls of the Lin Kuei headquarters, coming to stand before Jian Lin Kuei, the man he so admired, and he swore his undying allegiance. He had proven his loyalty to the Family over the years, and had now proven his strength.
Wild Whistle: Description: His first, and personally developed, alchemical ability allows Leif to gain control over animals through whistling. Those under the influence of the whistle have their free will completely taken from them, and replaced with a compulsion to follow his every command and desire, in a manner similar to that of devoted followers, through adoration, and fear of displeasing him. They seek his praise, and to fulfil all commands given to them, regardless of the cost to themselves, or others around him. This affect lasts as long as Leif wants it to, and, once released, the animal regains full control, though with no memory of what they did while under the effect of his whistle. Subsequent uses on the same animal cause it to become more and more obedient to Leif, even without use of this power. Particularly strong-willed or intelligent creatures prove difficult or even impossible to control. [Can have under his control up to 5 animals at any one time, with greater preference for wolves]
Heart of the Wolf: Description: The first of two abilities Leif "inherited" from his mother, Arimina, allows him to, at will, shapeshift into the form of a werewolf (either bipedal yet furry or totally appearing as a wolf). This significantly increases speed, strength, and hit points, and gives added resistance to physical attacks. In any form, the power of this alchemy ability allows his normal attacks to deal Very High Physical Damage.
Dimension Step Description: The second ability Leif received from Arimina allows him to displace himself, at will, through an alternate dimension briefly, reappearing at a desired, pre-selected location, with longer distance trips taking a much larger toll than short ones. The teleportation itself leaves behind a cloud of purple smoke, and a faint, otherworldly smell. [Can be used in combat to gain Evade Phys, cooldown of 5 posts]

She had her friends, and she lived happily... until the day they needed to move out of home. At first, she couldn't understand why...but things had turned dangerous. The Lin Kuei were spreading, and now under the service of the Mori, the efforts to bring her mother to the Shogun's side were doubled...they weren't safe anymore. So, the Amagai family moved away from the mainland...so they went to a place where the Mori influence seemed less prominent, in Shikoku...near the Iyokono Castle. And there they were safe for a long time, protected...getting to know the other people who settled there, even glimpsing the Lord of the castle down there from time-to-time...when he flew off to beat back the government forces getting too close.
Kiki continued living her life, and perhaps she became a little bit too comfortable, despite her mother's nervous worries and her father's leveled advice. She strayed too far from home, and she was taken by agents of the Lin Kuei. They hadn't been as safe as they thought they had been... Members of the criminal organization had been sent out to spy on the family...know their routines...know their faces. They knew who she was...and as Minori's daughter, they had a bargaining chip to finally bring her over to the Shogun's side as he wished...more because they could than any need of her now.
But it was on the boat to the mainland, when she was locked in the hull of a ship, that someone unexpected appeared and interjected himself into her life in the most dramatic way!
It was the Sublime Master Thief of Shikoku! In a display of impressive skills and nimble movements, he helped her escape into the water and back home. Together they were able to return to the city near the castle...where to their great surprise, they learned that they lived not-so-very far apart from one another! Both refugees from those who sought to break up their happy families...or worse. They were fast friends, their families, and partners in crime the two of them before they knew it!
And perhaps it was just how flashy they were when working together, that showy charisma, that caught the eye of a certain...unusual observer. A strange, dark-skinned vagabond-looking man with an endless appetite...he called himself a King, of a Multiverse, in fact!
...He was halfway shoved through the door by Minori when he deleted her favorite coffee cup as proof of his identity and his power.
...And he was completely out the door with a less-special coffee cup shattered at his feet before she finally heard him out. (Nobody touches her World's Best Mom Mug. Kiki gave her that.)
It was at that time that they learned of a very special destiny that the two children might come to face... An opportunity to aid in the cause of a higher power in the worlds that surrounded her own and in return, to be gifted the strength necessary to fight back within their own.
Kiki's mother...did not take the idea of her baby girl leaving especially well. And even the highest of the high Gods in the Universe learned never not to tempt too carelessly the wrath of an angry mom. But in the end, who could say no to a destiny like that? An offer like that? IF the man was who he said he was (and he had a pretty convincing way of proving it, cups not withstanding), then saying no was akin to blasphemy. And the chance to see and heal other worlds in addition to her own was an adventure nobody could say 'no' to!
Thus, her adventure as a member of the Multiverse King's Time...Force...thingy...began!
