Noh moved for the Speaking stone, the chil moving with a smooth, easy motion. It had been an easy, normal hunt, at least, until she'd stumbled on a lean, hungry lioness huddled from some rogues. The chil had easily dispatched them, but the female followed her - even knowing what she was following when Noh tried telling her. Even knowing the chil had no means to personally keep her - but Noh had ideas and Noh was a clever female. She knew her duty - as a chil she had opportunity to inherit - a difficult prospect, for a pale demon, but it meant her cubs and her mother's works continued. She merely needed to prove it outside of battle, so now she sat, addressing those gathered with asmirk, and nodding her head, winking. "I thank you all for coming." Noh began smoothly. "I'm well sure you are all busy, but tonight I bring a gift to be given to some pride memnber. I'm sure many are uneasy, even mistrustfu of us welcoming the outsiders, allies or not, so I bring someone to alleviate those fears. As you know, I weas hunting recently, and found something... Exciting." She moved, and nosed the pale female forward. "A sador, a gift. I've no way to provide for another one, and she will accept the one I deem worthy - yes, dear ones, she knows what her place will be. But I think it good for someone to have a healthy Sador. After all, lion sador offer many uses." What's going on?This is an ORP for a lovely lady sador! ICly, Noh has caught her by kindness, and wishes to prove the pride still demon by granting her to a demon! This will be decided with a dice roll at the end, but each post is one ticket (Gods help me). This ORP is for discussion - how do you feel about the Dvergr? A pale demon aiming to inherit a place in the leadership, or do you just think the lady is pretty? Noh is on-paw to talk to everyone, and has the ear of Moricorm herself -0 and can thus discuss concerns. You can also try to coerve Noh into giving the sador to you - woo her, threaten her, ETC - all in all, this is a demon gatherng with a goal - who wants to get a sador for your demon? Anyone can get this girl - although I might stare at you guys. To encourage newbies, if you have a rogue and want to see what's up, you can - but be aware you might be in danger and run off, istolen into the pride, or similar. In the end, the female WILL be given out - and to encourage newbies, Pride Newbies (Anyone without any member) gets 2 tickets per post. Good luck!

Angra Mainyu, fresh meat, was welcomed to the pride with a warm embrace from Noh. So it would have come as little surprise to see his beaten up looking mug around the Speaking Stone during the chatter. He had missed her speech - the timelines crossed and so he had come in after the fact.
"Who is this lioness?" The red lion, patterned with loud swirls had made his way over to the pale lioness that had been made a prize - so to speak. He wasn't new to the ways of the Demon pride and so he recognized a Sador when he saw one, but he wondered her purpose. Did she have one? Or perhaps there was more to this.NovaCracker So he hasn't been approved in the thread yet, but I figured I may as well post? Please let me know if it's all good. The merging of their two prides had been met with mixed emotions from the Aegnor'hini members. Of those, Shetani was among the more reluctant. The dark pelted lioness watched all exchanges between old and new allies with a cautious and mostly mistrustful gaze. She silently wondered what reason they had to trust these pale coated and demonless strangers.
As a second gathering was called together and another unfamiliar, light-colored female was pushed to the forefront, Shetani joined the small group. A sador gift to be given to one deemed worthy? While the golden eyed lioness had grown up among the other demons in the Aikanaro, she had never yet had a sador lion under her care and protection. But yet another pale, demonless rogue to dilute their strength? Perhaps in her care she could reveal this lioness' true potential?
When a voice broke the silence, the quiet female turned to inspect the source. The intricate pattern on the male's legs were impossible to miss. He looked all too familiar to another she had recently met. With a narrowed gaze, she remained quiet - for now.

Noh purred at Angra, pleased to ee the ale as she moved to answer the question.
"As I was hunting, I came upon a lioness. She has agreed to join the ranks of the sador and will trust my paw finding a suitable demon to look after the poor creature."
Poor. Right. Still, Noh sat, rumbling. "We may welcome our companions of the Earth, but they we know are strong. She is a rogue. She will work hard and she will serve well. But tell me.
The chil paced, studying those assembled with a calcuating gaze, one her pale coat made a stark contrast to norms.
"Whom has need of healthy paws? A new sador to hunt? Perhaps cubs to mind? Surely someone has need of a sador."
She smiled a toothy smile, and nodded.
You can still post to enter for her! Will you be interested in the sador for a hunter? Cubsitter to allieviate work for the nannies, or do you just want that pretty girl for OTHER reasons? Remember, I'll be rolling a winner at the end, but why not have fun trying?

Berihun had heard recent whispers of the pride that lie in this direction. Some pretty unbelievable things: chiefly, that these lions were demons made fur. Their names whispered fearfully, when they were spoken at all. He'd probably be well within his rights to take these tales for what they were - cubs' stories and folly, the kind of thing that siblings told each other for a lark, or elders passed down to make the world outside their prides seem that much more fearsome.
The golden male remembered the stories his father told, though. Whispers of other names, and the burdens a lion's stronger soul could bear. He licked the overlarge fangs that poked over his lower lip, as he was prone to do when thinking of the old man; only he and his brother had inherited that particular feature. That, along with dear ol' dad's other quirks, made the stories a little less inconceivable. And of course, once Berihun decided that a pride of demons could be out there, it only made sense to see them for himself.
There must have been something of substance happening today, though. The lion found his passage into well-trod ground less obstructed than he might expect, and there was a curious scene before him to boot.
Berihun's ears pricked forward as he approached, able to catch just the tail end of questions asked by a pale lioness. That one looked like someone in a leadership position if ever there was one. His eyes roving briefly over the assembled lionesses - and lone other lion, gauging them carefully for signs of hostility. Were these his sought demons?
"I should hope I'm not interrupting anything?" He offered, low tenor filling the space left open by the pale lioness' voice. His gaze lingered a touch longer on the lioness she had called a "sador". He couldn't say for sure what that was, but he recognized a prize on display when he saw one.

A smile broke across his lips as Noh gave him a purr of recognition and then he listened intently as she spoke of her hunt. To have a lioness come willingly as a Sador, what a treat! How compliant would she be when she finds out in due time what some Demons could be like? With that thought his smile became a smirk.
"Well, we could always use one, no?" He looked directly to Noh, using a well thought out 'we' in his statement. "I'm sure there will be plenty to do, down the road that would keep her paws occupied." He mused lightly at the possibilities - it would have easily come off as playful teasing of their future, one that had yet been truly discussed.
It was after he spoke that he discovered they weren't entirely alone, not that it would have changed his words any. A female, with a dark pelt, had stared at him - almost as though she had recognized him? Impossible. He shook off the sensation that kind of stare always had and then a voice grabbed his attention.
"No, no. Come, take a closer look at this Sador." Angra never thought he'd be playing the role of invitee nor would he ever have thought he'd act so kindly towards another lion. Lioness, that was another story, there was a game to be played but with other lions there was no gain - now he thought of the pride - and even wondered if that would become a normal thing.

Well, well. He wouldn't have expected an invitation to this strange little gathering from the lion, but he wasn't going to refuse. "You're too kind," came his rumbled reply. In any other instance, the red male looked like one he would sooner fight than bandy words with - that just tended to be the way things worked out in the roguelands. Beri would have to keep this in mind: yet another difference between the rules of a pride, and those who scraped out their living alone.
But that was neither here nor there. The golden male took up the invitation rightly enough, padding warily closer to the assembly and lioness in their midst. It seemed even clearer now, from their appraisal of her...from the pale lioness' last words, and the red male's response... It was hardly surprising to realize that there were prides about who kept slaves, although there was a beat of confusion. For one to come into such a role willingly, and unchained? Additionally, either the 'Sador' nor the pale lioness that had brought her in bore signs of abuse.
His gaze raked her over once more before settling on her eyes - or her face, would she not meet his eyes. "This 'Sador'... Some sort of servant?" There, that was a better word. The pale lioness was either a very gentle master - which seemed unlikely - or those that the demons called slaves held a few more rights than that word would properly denote.

Amadi held his breath... He was actually following the scent of the very lioness that the group were currently discussing in an...unfavorable manner. He had found her smell attractive, like she smelled of home and thought he'd track her for the company. He'd managed to stay down wind, thankfully, so was not seen when she was first taken... or well, not really taken. Coerced is what it looked like, but even Amadi's hearing was unable to catch the exact dialogue.
He'd continued, probably because he was an idiot more than anything else, into what he knew was a territory of a pride. The smell was everywhere, but especially the smell of blood. It didn't strike Amadi in the same way that blood normally would. Blood typically made him salivate and his stomach rumble. This blood smelt old, stale. Like it was decoration rather than nutrition. Instead of rumbling, his stomach twisted.
He wasn't the only rogue present, which allowed him to breathe more easily, but only just. This group didn't seem completely hostile though there was an unmistakable air of danger... for this reason he felt if even for a little longer, it was best to stay hidden. The truth, really, Amadi hadn't made up his mind of whether he would stay or go... mostly because he was too nervous to move, and the unmistakable beauty of the lioness made him less apt to leave her in unsafe hands. The lion continued to watch the exchanges, one ear tilted forward and one ear tilted back to listen for unfriendly lions that might join him in the darkness.Post 1: 267 words

Of course he'd invite the rogues in, any rogue could mean new blood - whether that rogue anticipated a long stay or not. A wicked grin broke his lips briefly before disappearing into something a touch more welcoming, at least as welcoming as scars and healing wounds can appear.
Kind. The red lion smirked. If only he knew. "She is, or will be a servant to someone amongst us today." Of course this would be an ironic fate for her, to be pledged to someone from outside the pride - he wondered what Noh had up her sleeve if it came to that. She was a tricky lioness - if she was going to do something she likely already had the wheels of mind spinning.
Angra Mainyu had noticed movement, not far from the group, but a distance enough away for him to care very little. If anyone else had stumbled upon their group he was sure that they may have taken a less blunt approach in simply wandering over - that was intelligent. He himself was trying a taste of intelligence, thinking before acting and he'd disliked it. Part of him wished the individual hidden with the brush not far from them would come out, even if I meant for a fight - the red lion was growing impatient.

There was a change in the air. It was subtle, swamped as Beri's senses were with foreign lions and strange grounds, but it was doubtlessly there. The golden glanced over at the red, claws briefly extending. Again came that roguelands mentality; the addition of so many others was beginning to make him feel...edgy.
With a grunt, the lion turned his attention back to the matter at hand. "Demons must treat their servants well, then." A tilt of his head, and another moment of slow regard, flavored with an analytical, almost amused curiosity. "How unexpectedly generous.
"I admit that I came so boldly upon you having heard of something like this before. The slave was not willing, though. Also, as I recall, much worse for wear." Would the one entrusted with this Sador be expected to rehabilitate her? Would it be considered duty to return her to a proper weight, or weakness? Were Sador owned, their temperaments gentled the way one might train a beloved pet - or free-willed servants in their own right?
Berihun made a sound in his throat, halfway between a grunt and growl, before catching himself. It was with some reluctance that he backed away from his study of the lioness, tongue once again flicking over one fang. The rules of a pride were messy and complicated. Strangely fascinating, though. Strangely compelling.

Amadi was disgusted. Slave? That was enough to cause his muzzle to wrinkle and expose his wet fangs. He was sure not to make a sound, but it was only just that he restrained the desire to growl deep, deep in his belly. Amadi wasn't quick to become angry, and certainly wasn't a fighter. He was sure to notice he was not nearly as muscular as some of the lions in this pride, and he highly doubted if he was as talented at fighting in either respect. But he couldn't—he wouldn't—just leave the lioness without knowing her fate, or at the very least, that she was making this decision with a competent mind. (Of course, Amadi's inner self commented that it couldn't fathom that she was willing to go into slavery AND was doing so with a sound mind...)
With a deep swallow, he lifted his paw, ready to expose himself from the brush--
But he hesitated... something stopped him. For just a heartbeat, for just a moment, he believed he made eye contact with the lioness. He blinked and it was gone, but for just a moment he thought she could see him and it wasn't fear he saw. He could have imagined it but it was enough to stall him, to regather his courage. Frozen like a statute, he remained where he was.

Noh watched the discussion with the rogues with a calm expression, entirely unphased by their astonishment, and she raised one paw, grooming it calmly. The rogues were intriguing, but not really dark - in fact, if she thought it possible, she would overpower them to bring sador to the pride. They'd make for lovely sador, and demon-cubs at that. Finally, she decided to address the clear misunderstanding after she neatly groomed her ear.
"A sador is not a slave. They are not things and they arte not mistreated." She chastised patiently. While unamused at the accusation, there were things to clear up.
"They merely are not demons. A slave is below her - a servant may yet use what we do consider slaves - criminals, to the rest of the world. And lest you question, we have but three - a murderer, a would-be murderer, and a cannibal." She stretched. "They attacked our own. If she were a nat, or slave, she would not be given to anyone. Nor would I see to her wellbeing."
It was a warning tone,, really.
"But, rogue, should you wish to know, my own father is a sador. The leader."
She moved, approaching him calmly, despite her small size, and looked up, eyes narrowed calmly. "Much, if you wished to join as a sador, you would be treated with kindness."

The leader spoke, then. Berihun turned to regard the pale lioness with the respect the situation deserved, regardless of whether she might have gotten from him otherwise. She might have, even-tempered and unassuming as she seemed, but in this moment his best behavior was all but a given.
Bad enough to be here on land claimed by others; he wasn't going about disrespecting one of their authority figures. Learning that she was some sort of an heir - provided that worked the same amidst the demons as it did elsewhere - only cemented his decision.
Beri, for his part, took that bit of news with little more than a raised eyebrow. "I see. Thank you for clarifying - but it begs a new question." She would keep his attention on the approach, the presence of the hidden male dismissed, for now. "You invite me in as a sador - not a demon. Would that same kindness hold, I wonder, if I sought more?" His eyes on hers were a cautious kind of curious, his tone once again reflective. There was a note of seriousness there, too, turning over the lioness' words carefully and drawing a few of his own conclusions. "What if I wished to join as a demon? Would that which separates you from your father not hold true for me?"
He did not easily dismiss the presence of the other lioness and the red male, however. He had a feeling that either would go from 'toleration of the impetuous rogue' to 'true and rabid demons' indeed at a single word from this heir of theirs.

When the chil came to speak - to ask what use would those gathered have for the new sador, Shetani considered the request carefully. The presence of a new arrival, however, drew her attention toward a golden colored, striped male. The pale colored coat, the bright shades of yellow, made her visibly grimace with agitation. And yet, he spoke with a confidence and comfort that she could not easily look past. She did not know him, but with how readily the guides of the pride shifted, it was possible he also claimed to carry in his soul, the strength of a demon.
Shetani watched with her narrowed gaze as the striped stranger padded forward to inspect the sador. One sador watching another? The edge of her lip curled upward in a menacing smile.
The demoness' ear twitched back at the arrival of Amadi - the newest rogue to join the group. Slowly, but surely, curious strangers were beginning to trickle inward. Silently, the female demon appraised each and every one of them.
"You could not simply join as demon," Shetani finally spoke up, padding up and alongside the striped male with a level of comfort that betrayed the fact they did not know one another. She was uncomfortably close as she eyed him more seriously than she had before. "You carry in your heart a demon. Or you do not." With a slight tilt of her head, she examined each cut and scrape that he might have sustained in the roguelands.
Shifting her gaze to the leaders of the gathering, she spoke again. "I was born and raised in the Aikanaro and gladly offer my services to the Aegnor. I believe in my blood is the strength of our ancestors. My mind carries the knowledge and the lessons of our past. For that reason, I believe I would be suited to educate and train the sador." At the mention of Sador, her eyes briefly crossed over the golden, striped male. Perhaps it had been he and not the offering which drew her interest?[ 2/5 posts - 524 words ]

((Just wanted to give a little bump to keep this going! ^_^
As an aside, while i'd love for Shetani to gain a sador under her watch IC, i'd rather someone else play them! If I end up winning, i'd love to rehome the lioness to someone who doesn't have an Aegnor lion!))
