Since he was a Patron for the pride he figured going forth into the rougelands would be a bit of good fun. That and he was sure he could probably find some things to steal away towards home with. While he was a Lord first, he was still a thief. Rolling his large shoulders he padded along, his fluffy golden mane bouncing against his chest and back as he moved. The weather was growing cooler and this delighted him a small bit, though he would always enjoy the salty cool air of the sea more. He wasn't entirely certain if he had ever seen snow, he had heard of it from travelers but hadn't experienced it for himself. At least from what he could recall from his lifetime. He figured if it was meant to be, it would be. Slowing down as he came to a rather grassy looking area with decent amounts of foliage and landscapes in the distance he figured he'd hang out around here until he either got bored, was run off or found someone to talk to.

Jua had grown up in the safety of the Pridelands for her entire life. While she had every opportunity to do so growing up, she never travelled outside the perimeter of their home. The Pridelands were comfortable and secure... and it was for that very reason that she began to wonder what exactly laid outside.
After completing the morning hunt with her enormous extended family, Jua returned to her den to gather a small satchel of items for her wilderness trek. She told herself that she wasn't being overly cautious, she simply had no way to preparing for what she might find. Deciding to take a little bit of everything, she eventually slipped away from the prying eyes of her family's hares.
There was something exciting about the untouched terrain (at least by her own paws) and unfamiliar sights. The thought of danger did not yet occur to the sheltered Pridelander as her golden eyes scanned the horizon.

As he moved along his eyes fell upon the tan and gold colored lioness. She was a welcome to his travelers eyes and a smile formed upon his lips as he walked towards her. He moved a little slower so as to not make her think he was possibly charging her or anything and kept the smile on his face. "Afternoon." He called out once he was within talking distance of her.

Despite his every effort to be non-threatening, the sudden appearance of someone else made the golden lioness freeze in her tracks with an expression of momentary panic. "I, uh, uh-" She started up, trying to think up a suitable answer to the unspoken question of what she was doing out there. It was her very first excursion and while she was a grown lioness, fully capable of surviving on her own, she had yet to prove that to herself.
The awkwardness was almost palpable as the lioness internalized her thoughts and considered the entirety of the situation. "Oh," Upon realizing that she hadn't yet greeted the stranger, she blabbed out a reply in a hurry, "So sorry about that! I wouldn't find my head if it weren't screwed on, you know? I mean, Hello! It's nice to meet you! Well... start to meet you, I suppose." Embarrassed and flustered, she returned a wide smile.

He watched the little display as she seemed startled by him and he gave her a smile in reassurance. "It's quite understandable." He knew sometimes being lost in thought happened, it happened to him quite often enough. He flicked his tail behind him and looked around for a moment and returned his attention back towards the female. "It is nice to make your acquaintance. I'm Asker." He said with a small dip of his head. "What is your name?"

The smile was certainly reassuring. Beneath her pale golden fur, a faint touch of pink could be seen as her skin took color. Collecting herself, she dipped her head in greeting and gave a more proper introduction. "I'm Jua." With a glance back toward the direction she had come, she went on to add. "I'm from the Pridelands. I..." Jua returned her attention to him. "I don't believe i've seen you around. Are you also passing through?" Shiri would have been more guarded about sharing personal information, but Jua didn't have the history of struggles in the roguelands to teach her caution.

The pridelands, he had heard a great deal about them. "Jua...." He allowed her name to trail across his voice. "I've heard a great deal about the pridelands. We had a member of the pride visit mine not too long ago. I'm from the Kizingo'zaa. So you wouldn't have seen me before." He said to her with a warm chuckle. "I am just passing through. I figured I'd come this way and see what this pride was all about."

When Asker seemed to consider her name, she added helpfully. "My family tells me that it means sun." She didn't seem to hold any strong feeling toward this revelation, but it was a little tidbit she could share.
At the mention of another pride, the lioness' curiosity was piqued. Unfortunately the 'Kzingo'zaa' didn't sound especially familiar. She was terribly curious and a handful of questions rose to the forefront of her mind. Stepping out around the male, perhaps to get a better look at him in his entirety, she proposed, "Are all the lions in your pride that colorful? Your fur is... incredible!"

"It suits you." It truly did, she was the soft color of sunshine in the early morning, it was nice. As he fell under her gaze he couldn't help but let a coy smile spread across his face. "They are, though I would say I'm one of the duller colors." It was true, there were quite colorful members in his pride. If she thought he was colorful she'd be in for a treat. If she were to ever go there anyway. "Have you been in the pridelands your whole life?"

"Oh," Jua answered sheepishly. "Thank you."
While she might have still been somewhat embarrassed, Asker's smile was infectious. "Dull?" It was evident by her surprised expression that she never would have used that term to describe his coloration. "That's surprising! I mean, the Pridelands have their fair share of gorgeous coats," She felt the need to clarify. "But the majority of us are shades of gold, tans and browns. Though, i've heard that many years back we also had more reds."
When asked about her personal life, she considered the question a moment. The answer made her feel more than a little sheltered. Her family hadn't kept her prisoner, of course. Her curiosity had just never gotten the better of her until now.
Offering a small nod, she answered, "I have. Though... i'm hoping to see more the world. Assuming i'm not too late, of course." A small chuckle escaped her mouth at that last part.

He gave a small nod of his head. "Some prides like the subtle tones, plus it works with the terrain you have." He gazed about. Ad he listened to her words an idea came to him. "Would you like to come see my pride? I assure you, you'll be safe with me." While he knew she had no reason to trust him he was a lion of his word.

"That's true," She commented. It certainly didn't change how curious his vibrant fur color and patterns were to her eyes, however.
At the mention of visiting his pride, her attention was peeked. "Oh? You think that's a possibility? I mean, we barely know each other, right? Maybe, um... Can you tell me a little about your pride while we're on our way?"
For the most part, Jua seemed willing to follow after the curious male to his home. But how could she guarantee her way back? Would he help her find her way or keep her company? What if this pride of his was one of the ones she'd been warned about. He seemed like a pretty trustworthy guy...

"It's definitely a possibility. We get travelers all the time from other prides." He said to her with a toothy grin. "We're commonly called the Gypsy Pride. We live on the edge of the sea and adore trinkets and sing songs on occasions." He said with a light chuckle. "I'd be more than happy to tell you more on the way though." He said as he led them on their journey there.
