Paws rough with years of travel moved silently, claws digging into the earth with each push off of the parched ground below him. Black pelt rippled and in the orange glow of the setting sun, red markings were set alight like fire.

The son sired by fire and shadowed rogues was all predator and confidence. As something stirred ahead of him and the grass moved, his eyes narrowed and his lips rose slowly in a snarl before his jaws parted in a roar that shook the silence.

His paws which had been outstretched before him, claws out and spread, his a solid body and when it didn't budge, he grunted and snarled as his body collided with the large water bison. It was large, and obviously male by the strength of it's musk and the point of it's horns. Why it was alone, he couldn't fathom, but with no herd, it was as good as dead.

The animal bucked and kicked and he dug front and hind claws into it's back while his teeth sought purchase at the back of the bison's neck.

Enlil. The name meant Lord of the Wind and sometimes he did feel like it. His blue mane ruffled in the wind as he walked about. He had felt a small hunger growing since the last time he had hunted. It was a movement to his right that made him turn and face what was going on. He saw another male take down a prey beast.

"Impressive." The word was a bit sarcastic as he said it. It had been alone, without a herd. Really it was too easy of a kill. "Though would have been more impressive had it been in a herd and you focused on it alone."

He came a bit closer towards the male. Enlil wasn't super hungry but maybe he could sneak in a bite or two to sate the slow growing hunger in him. No, better to work up his hunger by hunting on his own. He would take leave from the male and go to actually try to kill something within a herd as opposed to the one long creature out and about.

So he took his leave from the male to hunt before he would take a short rest.
