Quote:
It had started out as something so small, though baffling at the time. The first day of classes at Destiny City University and Seung had been walking into his Japanese language class, wanting to take something easy as Terry wanted him to relax a bit and not dive right into things like he had been prepared to do. japanese was a language he already knew, very well, so it would be easy and without much effort or work needed from him, certainly no studying would be needed. He could read, write and speak the language already, though he was still working on his English skills.
He’d just walked in, had been taking off his messenger bag, when some girl had run up to him, in some short quick little pace, and tried to hug him while calling out senpai. He knew the word, he did know the language, but to call him that and to try and hug him? he’d stepped back and put space between them before addressing her.
As the next few weeks went on he discovered she was a massive anime fan, something he sort of expected with how she’d acted toward him the moment he’d gotten into the classroom. She paired up with him on speech practice, thankfully the professor seemed to understand his lack of comfort around her but didn’t do anything. It was likely due to the professor being Japanese that the man had understood Seung’s unease with the girl, when things had come to a small head. There had also been the time, after class, that his professor had wanted to know what his skill level was with the language, which he’d explained. He’d also explained that he had to take this basic class before he could take the next one and the one beyond that and so on and so forth, he didn’t mention Terry wanting him to take his first semester easy. The man had understood and after that they’d gotten along and there was a sort of friendship there. So he figured it was because of that, and the understanding of similar cultures, that the two of them got on well and he noted the man's eyes on Hannah several times.
Either way though the girl, Hannah, continued to try and cling to him and sit near him, stand near him, talk to him and tried to learn about him and if he shared interests with her. He’d hoped telling her he wasn’t Japanese, but rather Korean, would get her to back off, as she seemed to want to date someone who was Japanese if the cuteness she tried to pour on was any indication.
After that it seemed that while her focus was still on their class, and passing it, and she still loved Japanese culture she had apparently been doing her research on Korean culture as she had started to call him oppa. Not only that but she started with other things, mostly music and asking about his makeup and hair style as well as his clothing. She was trying, and failing, to interest him and he was doing a good job of ignoring her at this point. She liked to join him at lunch also, with all her anime friends, and make it difficult for him to escape her.
Her friends had even started to learn about Korean culture, he really...had no words for it. He got to escape them whenever Terry was free and could join him for lunch. That wasn’t the most common of things though and he found himself stuck between her group, somewhere in the middle, with them all talking to him and questioning him on various topics.
All that had come crashing down though. He knew it was her, his parents had told him all he’d needed to know in order to know it was her fault. She had apparently seen him out with Terry and had taken pictures of them - pictures she had shown his parents. How she knew who they were, or where to find them, was beyond him. She had done it though...she had shown them pictures, and told them things - made up things, which he couldn’t lie his way out of. He’d tried, and he had tried really hard, but his parents had questioned why she would lie? He knew why, or had a good idea as to why.
The shouting match which had ensued had been one sided. His father shouting, his mother between shouting and sobbing, and him just bowing his head and answering in a quiet voice as he was told how much shame he had brought onto his family and that he had caught some illness from these American’s. He’d stood up for himself, for the first time, whispering that it wasn’t the people here but he’d been like this back home also. He talked about it, worded it, like he was talking about an illness as well but he knew he wasn’t. it was just who he was, and he had long ago accepted it.
As the yelling, and sobbing, continued with his father telling him what a shame he was, how dishonorable his choices were they said one thing which calmed him - they wouldn’t tell the rest of the family. If only because they didn’t want to hurt anyone else, to dishonor them and sadden them, he accepted it and bowed as low as he could while thanking his parents for the decision to spare others this shame. It wasn’t for that reason he thanked his father, or that he was happy with the choice, it was because he would still be able to talk to his family and be accepted by them.
It all came crashing down then with his father's next few sentences. Already sporting a red cheek and still feeling like he might be ill, his father informed him that he wasn’t to have contact with his sister - he might taint her with his filth and make her like him. He wasn’t to have contact with other family members, they would find a reason for him to miss the holidays, and the worst part soon came. His father told him to pack what he could and leave and that he didn’t care where he went - he was being thrown out.
His mother, still sobbing and holding a tissue to her red nose, managed to tell him that they would support him in finishing school. They could not however allow him in their home, he was a shameful son and his behavior was not allowed. When he got better, as if he was sick, he would welcome back. They would support him in school because he would make something of himself, for when he got better and went to start a family. He knew that would never happen - a family...but he didn’t say anything...there was nothing to say. He just bowed even deeper to his parents, tears stinging his red rimmed eyes.
A stiff nod from Seung and he shuffled, head still down, to his room to pack the two suitcases he had and another two bags. Clothing went into one suitcase, enough for a few days at least. Face products, of various kinds, went into a bag. His airbook joined the products in the same bag. Shoes went into a suitcase and books went into the other bag. He grabbed what he could, hoping he could sneak in at some point and take the rest. He’d hoped he didn’t have to turn over his house key so he could do this.
Calling out to Yeong he watched the dog come into his room. Petting him gently he went to get his leash and harness and set that up so he could take Yeong with him...though to where he didn’t know. His hands shook as he finished packing his things before he went to get the dog food and bowls for Yeong and put them into his luggage as well. Toys followed, put into a plastic bag, and treats. He hadn’t a clue where to go and by now felt like curling up somewhere and being sick. The shakes wracked him as he took hold of the leash and with a messanger bag and a duffle bag over his shoulder, weighing it down, he managed to get everything out the door as his cousin was permitted to help him so he could be out sooner rather than later. With everything, including himself and Yeong, out on the street he wondered what to do and where to go now. He couldn’t manage all the luggage on his own along with Yeong and holding the leash for the jindo dog.
He had no idea that his cousin had, at some point, copied the phone numbers for his friends onto her phone and was sending a text to Terry letting him know that her cousin had just been thrown out of the house and had nowhere to go.
It was cold out, thankfully he had a coat and sweater on, but for how long would he stand here? Where could he go? And how to get there? Finally he let his knees give out and was sitting on the ground with a dog in his lap who seemed to understand the gravity of their current situation, or he just understood his master was upset. Alternating between petting and hugging the dog he pressed his face to the top of the others head whispering things, what would they do, who would take them in and where would they live. He apologized many times and that this should not be a punishment for them both but he didn’t want to leave Yeong and that it was selfish of him to want to take him into this. He asked for the jindo’s permission to be selfish and greedy, to understand it.
He felt for what he had done to his parents, he had never wanted to. He had tried not to and tried to keep them from ever finding out. They never would have found out if that girl hadn’t, without him knowing, seen him out with Terry and realized they were a couple. She had for whatever reason, he couldn’t even fathom why, decided to tell his parents. His father had said the girl had told them because she was worried for him, she understood it might be shameful to his family and they should know. That couldn’t be why...there had to be more to it.

Terry had just gotten home when he received the text and had been heading up to his room to drop off his bag so it took him a moment to read it. When he did however he stared in surprise for a heartbeat then rushed down the stairs. He spared a moment to ask permission to borrow his Mother’s car, telling her he would explain later, then continued his rush out of the house. On the drive to Seung’s house, he pushed the speed limit a bit but was sure to stay within safe speeds as he didn’t want to cause an accident, so it didn’t take him long to reach the neighborhood the other lived in. Or previously in this case he supposed. He slowed down when he turned onto the street and came to a stop completely off to the side where he spotted Seung crouching down hugging Yeong. Once the car was parked he got out and walked over to them and knelt, putting a hand on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “Seung?” He started to catch his attention but wasn’t sure what to say after.
Quote:
He hadn’t told Terry much about the girl, since he’d been ignoring her mostly, he’d thought it was good and safe. There was no need to involve the other, what could Terry do anyway? He didn’t want some fight between the two or Terry to confront the girl, he had a feeling she might be a bit unstable...she had proven him correct with what she’d done. Hearing the other's voice his head lifted slowly, dark eyes watery and droplets clinging to wet lashes. His arms still about Yeong he stared up at the other, surprise and so many other feelings filling him right now.
He figured how the other knew though - his cousin. He silently thanked her but now what? What could Terry do? “She told you?” He questioned, referring to his cousin. “Where can we go?” He asked sounding more lost than he had ever been before, and he was. At least when moving here he had his family - a home. He had a place but now..there was no place. He couldn’t even use the funds he’d saved from work and return to Korea. His parents might tell his family, he didn’t know what they’d do if he contacted his family or visited - much less tried to move in.

Terry’s heart broke seeing the tears and sadness in Seung’s eyes. He wanted nothing more than to bring back the happiness but knew that could be a while after this. “Yes, she sent me a text.” He said then reached over with his free hand to cup the other’s face and wipe a tear away with his thumb. “You’re coming back with me. Anything else can be figured out later but for now I’m taking you home.” He soothed with a sad smile. He pulled the other into a hug, careful of the puppy between them.
Quote:
He’d have to thank his cousin somehow, maybe when he snuck in to get the rest of his things. It would be the best time to leave a note somewhere in her room, maybe a small something else? He didn’t know but he owed her a thank you for this, he hadn’t wanted to pull Terry into this, if not for his cousin he wouldn’t have called or texted the other. He’d have stayed here till he managed to find a way to get all this things and get down the street and then started a search for somewhere to stay. He knew they had shelters in the city but where he didn’t know and if they’d allow a dog he also didn’t know.
“Parents will be ok with it?” He asked. He knew he wasn’t bringing a lot with him but he was bringing a puppy and who knew how long he’d be staying with the other, how long till he could find a place to stay and live? “Can’t go home...can’t contact family back home...or visit.” And a holiday was coming up, he’d have been going but now...now what? His father would likely find an excuse, as he said he would, and cancel his plane ticket and hotel room. He still wanted to go...it felt right to at least be home for it...but home alone. It was a sudden break from his family and it hurt - a lot.
“They found out...about me...and that I am dating…” The words were choked on as he shook and leaned into the other, being ever mindful of Yeong who seemed to get it and whined and whimpered from his lap.

Terry hugged him tighter and nodded his head. “They will be fine with it.” They both would understand he knew and he also knew if Seung tried to double check later they would be likely to tell him to stay for as long as he needed. “I’m sorry.” He couldn’t help but feel partially responsible for the others pain after finding out why he was thrown out and denied contact with the rest of his family. He started to stroke Seung’s hair and pressed kisses to his head in comfort. On one hand he wanted to tell the other to not give up hope completely and that maybe there would be a way around this without hurting anyone else but on the other hand he didn’t want to lie to him if it turned out there wasn’t a way. “Come on, let’s get you home, I promise I won't let you go through this on your one, no matter what.” That was something he could at least promise.
Quote:
Nodding he slowly got up, holding onto Yeong’s leash, and shifted the bags which hung from his shoulders. “Ok…” He knew the others family would be ok with him turning up tonight...but for several days and nights? Would they get tired of him? Want him to leave? If so then where would he go? He had some money saved up but not enough to do anything with it.
The others car was easy to locate and he shuffled toward it, having also taken hold of one of his pieces of luggage. He was figuring he’d get the one into the car, and his bags, before getting Yeong into the car before grabbing the other piece of luggage.

Terry stood up then helped Seung move his luggage into the car by grabbing what the other couldn’t carry. When they were by the car he opened the trunk and tucked it all inside, including what the other male was carrying, then shut the trunk. The younger man then gently lead Seung to the passenger door and opened it to let him and Yeong inside. “I’m sure Ace will be happy to have a playmate.” He said, not quite trying to cheer the other up but more in an attempt to not let him drown in his thoughts. He had no experience with this, couldn’t fathom what his boyfriend was going through, but he was hoping he wouldn’t end up doing or saying the wrong thing and making it worse.
Quote:
Allowing the other to load the car with his things, he sort of stood there staring, he got into the passenger side when the door was opened. Calling Yeong to jump into his lap he buckled up and waited for Terry to get into the car. Leaning toward the other he stared up at him, his arms wrapped about Yeong. “Girl in my class told my parents...she had pictures...and lied about things.” He hadn’t told him about the girl and maybe he should have? But still...what could Terry have done but perhaps bring this about sooner? The girl was obviously unstable as she had done this upon seeing them together. If Terry told her to back off, claimed Seung to be his, she’d have gone to his parents all that much sooner….at least he’d have had warning though? Still he knew there would have been nothing Terry could have done. Now what though when he went to class next?
What about the trip home? He still did want to go, maybe now more than ever as being home would offer some comfort even without his family - which would hurt. Damn it...he was torn.

Quote:
“Why would she do that?” Terry asked as he got into the car, brow furrowing. Why would anyone do something like this? What would have been her motive? He buckled up then turned to face Seung and took his hand, rubbing his thumb back and forth over his knuckles in comfort. He didn’t start the car just yet and instead waited to see if the other wanted to talk so he could give him his undivided attention, though if the other wasn’t ready or it looked like staying around the neighborhood for an extra moment was worse for him he would head home quickly.

“Long story...started first day of semester. Didn’t think this would happen.” Explaining that he pointed to the road. “Can go, I’ll explain on the way.” And he would, slowly though. He still didn’t grasp it all himself. “You know only some of what happened - didn’t want to tell you all...busy with school also.” Plus there was their life as knights. He really hadn’t wanted to add more to Terry’s plate, at least not more than possible. It wouldn’t be fair to the other to toss more onto his plate, and wasn’t he enough on his own already?
“First day of class, just walking in, she called senpai - you know this?” As he did watch anime, so he should know the term. “Corrected her, I’m not Japanese - I’m Korean. She sat next to me, asking about me...trying to connect over things. Next class calls me oppa.” Which while it was correct it was also very odd, for someone he didn’t know so well. He had also explained oppa to Terry and it’s use, a long time ago in fact.
“Soon was trying to talk about popular Korean things...and what was like back home. Always sitting by me...clinging and then sitting with me at lunch - with friends. Friends like her, soon started to talk about the same and questions. Fans...but too much fans.” Obsessive at least to him, maybe it was just him not being able to handle such? He didn’t think so though, it had bothered and unsettled him, he was sure Terry wouldn’t think he’d overreacted.
“Kept asking me out. I told you, you saw her and friends at lunch that day. Didn’t tell you that I wanted to run away...that it was not new and unwanted.” Not until now anyway. Now he was telling Terry everything as he sat in the car next to the other. He hadn’t told him how it affected him and how…much had been going on.
“Took your advice...it kept her away in class but not at lunch. Wound up like paranoid - looking for her around campus.” As if she might just appear, or in case she was following him. He honestly wasn’t sure what to think of her or her friends, as he didn’t trust them either. “Somehow she saw me and parents out...and saw us another time - together. She saw parents again, just them.”

Terry nodded in understanding then got them going, while he kept his eyes on the road he did keep holding Seung’s hand as he listened. He frowned as Seung explained what was going on. While he was glad the other had listened to him about taking it easy, he felt bad for indirectly causing this mess. “She sounds like she was heading towards dangerous stalker territory.” He said and squeezed the other’s hand. He would have to make plans later on to deal with her in some way, maybe report her for stalking and harassment to the college and go from there, but for now he kept his attention split only by the road and on Seung.
Quote:
“But why…?” He asked not fully understanding. He did have an idea but was it really because he was Asian and she was so in love with...the culture, the media, or something else? Was it that which fueled some need to cling to Asian people and a need to date one? At least he thought it was a need to date one, like himself, because of their race. But why? She didn’t even know about his culture, just Japanese, until he’d told her otherwise and she’d started looking things up. Why such an obsession? So it wasn’t his culture but just the fact he was Asian, any oriental male would do? So long as they had the right features - she would learn their culture. Shaking his head he ran his fingers through his streaked hair.
“Told my parents she was letting them know of my shameful ways so they could protect the family honor…” He said then after some moments of silence. She understood that at least but had she a clue they’d throw him out? Did she even care? Or did she think he’d end things and right himself and then what? Date her? She wasn’t Korean! His parents would have likely had an issue, to some degree, with any American he dated - male or female.

“I don’t know, sometimes people just get an idea in their head and obsess over it.” Terry said with a frown. The more he thought about it, the more it sounded like the girl needed help of the professional kind. He gave Seung’s hand another squeeze when he mentioned her ‘intentions’. “I’m sorry.” He said again. Once again he was at a loss of what to do other than to listen and be there for the other. They were getting closer to his house and he fully planned to get him inside and cuddle him for a while, maybe with a hot drink.

While he hadn’t planned on letting Terry know about it, figuring it was done with - he was ignoring her. If he were to find out the other had plans...he'd support it...what else did he have to lose? “Didn’t say they would stop paying for university...or support me...just not allowed in home...or talk to family or see family.” Which he honestly didn’t know which was worse...no financial support or no family connection. Both were bad...but maybe he had Terry’s family and that would work? It would be ok..but the food and language from home and the talks or places, things, experiences. None of it could be replaced.
Some girl who had an obsession had taken so much from him with one single insidious action and would she care? Would she ever know? He wasn’t sure he could confront her when he saw her in school in a few days. “Have class with her Thursday.” And it was Tuesday now...he’d had class with her earlier, before she’d talked to his parents. She had come to class already planning this and had smiled and tried to cling to him again. Oh god...he wanted to shudder at that.

“If they stop supporting you then we can work it out.” Terry promised. There were many different scholarships Seung could try to go for and if nothing else there were job possibilities, he was certain that his parents wouldn’t kick him out nor ask him for rent. He didn’t want the other to worry about college right now but at the same time he wasn’t sure if focusing on something else would also help him. His eyes narrowed as a couple different ideas ran through his mind when Seung mentioned he had class with the stalker on Thursday. “Do you want to skip class that day? I’m sure your teacher will understand.” If Seung did go to class however, he would skip his own and go with him. Possibly with college security in tow if he could manage it.

“No...my grades...would be bad. But...she was nice today in class, before the incident with my parents. She tried to cling, oppa this and oppa that, was all smiles and aegyo…Very happy and...nice.” But creepy nice. She hadn’t showed any malicious signs today or any smug looks or anything else. He hadn’t expected what had happened, or that she would do anything to him like this. He had thought it would remain in the classroom and on campus.
“Won’t be comfortable with her in class..” He finally admitted. How could he be?If she came up to him in class Thursday...or if she got smug with him? Or something else, tried to pick him up thinking he’d been forced to leave Terry. Did he tell her? Did he not? Did he hit her? He didn’t know, though he didn’t really want her to know but in a way he wanted to rub it into her nose what she’d caused...that she hadn’t thought about it properly and had hurt him and turned him so against her. But he also didn’t want her to know and be smug...or try and coddle him over the loss - like a friend. He didn’t know how he’d react also, without thinking, when he saw her and he didn’t like not being able to predict how he’d behave.

Terry shook his head while keeping his eyes on the road. “If you miss one day of class your grades won’t go down. I’m sure your teacher explained you can miss up to three days without repercussions at least, provided it’s not a testing day unless notified.” He said as he pulled onto his street. “But if you want to go to class I’m coming with you. You won’t have to talk to her and I’ll make sure she won’t touch you. It’s up to you which option you pick and if you decide to not go to next class I’ll come with you next week.” He glanced over to him and gave a small reassuring smile. “You have time to think about it so don’t decide right away.” The other male probably noticed that Terry had not made his coming to class with him a matter of question and instead a fact.

“Have to face her eventually...before or after vacation.” He couldn’t miss every day between now and the end of semester, he’d have exams and a project he had to do. “Best maybe now before holiday vacation.” Get it out of the way so it didn’t loom over the whole holiday break and spoil it, as he was sure it would. Squeezing the other's hand he shifted and rested his lips against the other's hand for a moment.
“Thank you for saying you’ll come also. Don’t know what I will do...how I’ll feel...I can think one thing and be wrong when seeing her.” He couldn’t predict it, not with all the emotions and everything…

Terry nodded in both agreement and understanding. Not to mention if Seung had other classes on campus she could possibly track him down then. “If you think that’s best then we can do that.” He said as he pulled into the driveway and parked the car. He unbuckled and turned in his seat to give the other a small smile. “No problem. I promise you won’t be alone in this, I’ll be with you every step of the way.” He reached his now free hand to cup Seung’s cheek. His promise was obviously for more than just dealing with the stalker girl though.

Unbuckling himself once they were parked in the others driveway he shifted, sitting sideways with Yeong in his lap. Leaning into the other's touch he nodded slowly. “Don’t know what I can do…” He didn’t know all the rules on campus and policies much less laws beyond it. He didn’t know what he could or couldn’t do, he had no reason to think he’d ever need such or be in a position like this. He was clueless in this instance. “Help me find out what to do….” He whispered and moved forward, ever mindful of the puppy, and pressed a short and light kiss to the others lips.
“Should get in and speak with your parents…” Explain things to them and see what they said and what they’d allow. That would help as they’d know what would be going on and could plan accordingly. Then he could go have a breakdown at some point, he felt ill and shaky still and he was fairly certain if he tried to hold either hand out straight it would in fact shake like a leaf.
