I'm turning 21 this year, so I've decided to treat myself. I'm spending a week and some change crashing on my friend's couch in beautiful Arakawa!

First time out of the country, finally putting this passport to good use.

Where's everybody live nowadays? There's a layover in Toronto for a few hours, let's meet up and get fish and chips! They love that stuff across the pond.

in live in the piney woods and granite mountains of northeastern ny state

but our cousins own a cabin in Algonquin Park in central ON, just north of the "cottage country" and we love to go there.

at a chip truck I get chips (fries) with plum sauce!

and I like to take home a bag of crisps (potato chips); my favorite are "fully dressed", like the way you would load up a hot dog with lots of toppings

hockey is back, and finally the Maple Leafs have a bright young star! he got four goals in his very first game. Matthew somebody; how could I forget so soon? sweatdrop

Wait, so there's a food truck that's just freedom fries? I assume they put a lot of gourmet spices on them.

Wait, so there's a food truck that's just freedom fries? I assume they put a lot of gourmet spices on them.

they have fried fish to go with the "chips" and now you can get teriyaki chicken on a skewer, which is way better than what Swiss Chalet sells

we were there! i wish i knew you were too.
we took the CNR from Montreal all the way west.
i stayed a few days in kamloops at the university there; Thompson? Frazier? One of those rivers. we saw bald eagles, five of them flew over the observation car, coming down from Jasper
we took a cheap tour of Vancouver by riding the rails around the place; there were many fine views!
the people were friendly of course, Canadians always are. there was free entertainment too, down by the water
