"Hey Juniper, could you do ma favor?" The new manager mark called her over the radio.
Juniper pushed the button on her walkie to respond, pausing her folding. "What do you need?"
"Hey, I know you're folding and cleaning up the department, but I need you to go back and merchandise that Z Rail of misses clothing in the back." Mark responded to her.
Juniper was pretty sure that the store manager had told Mark to do it himself earlier. Maybe, it was really busy up front or something.
"Yea, sure I'll go do it now." She responded. She quickly finished folding the shirts in her lap before heading back to grab the Z rail.

Yawning, Juniper joined the rest of the associates in the morning huddle. She had a long shift ahead of her of merchandising in womens. There had been so much new freight coming in, it was essential she get it out as quickly as possible, else they'd be in trouble for the next truck. Her coffee was in her hand, her miracle worker in the morning, and the thing to get her motivated.
As it turned out, Mark was the opening manager, and so he got to run the huddle. He went through the numbers for the day, what they expected customers wise, coupons going on, and what projects were happening. Juniper had actually begun to tune it all out since she knew what she had to do. That was, until she heard her name.
"And Juniper, I need you to move the fixtures to match the floor plan in the new book over in JR's. This is top priority." Mark said to her.
Juniper frowned. "I was told to merchandise Womens today." She said calmly.
"Well, I am superseding that since I am the manager on duty right now. So, deal with JR's first, then go and merchandise." He responded before continuing on with the meeting.
Juniper fumed silently, knowing that she'd end up behind on her own work now.

"You know you're not allowed to have coffee on the floor, right?" Mark said to her after seeing her take a sip form the mug she had on a folding cart.
"No one has said anything before, and other associates and manager do it. I was just told to be careful." She responded.
"Well, I am not the other managers. Go get rid of it." And Mark walked away.

Walking into the store, it was obvious it had been busy. The registers had lines at them and customers were milling around the store everywhere. It was going to be one of those nights, Juniper could feel it. So, after clocking in, she hurried up from to see who the manager on duty was.
It was Mark.
"Hey, so I pulled Shelley off of fitting rooms earlier."
"What? It's so busy, why would you do that?" Juniper questioned, obviously a bit miffed.
Mark gave her a look. "Because I needed her on register more. I figured you could handle the load yourself. You are a seasoned worker here after all."
Juniper did everything in her power to hold back a snark response. Instead she turned on her heels to head to the fitting rooms.
As expected they were jammed to the point that the rails were completely full and the rooms were filling up also.
Customers were ******** this.

"I am telling you, he doesn't do anything. He just throws tons of work at me and expects me to get it done. Plus, he isn't nice about it either. I feel like I am being signaled out." Juniper complained to the store manager. The two of them were locked up in his office as she let loose about Mark.
"It's not fair or right. I don't get why he is allowed to just stand up front all day and do nothing." She continued on.
The store manager sighed and rocked back in his chair. "Look, I get that you're upset that we chose to promote him and not you, but from what I've seen he's managed to get a lot done since he's been promoted. You're the only one who has come to me with a complain about him."
Juniper practically gaped at him. "So you think I am being like this because I am jealous?" She couldn't believe her ears. "Fine. You know what. Forget I said anything."
She stood up and walked out of the office. Repercussions, be damned.

"Juniper, I need you to go get the hanger bag for a hanger pick up. After that could you put it on the truck since the trailer gets picked up tomorrow?" Marks voice came over the radio and Juniper practically seethed.
"That bag is going to be heavy." She commented. "Could you help me drag it onto the truck?"
"It's too busy up here for me to leave. I am sure you'll manage." He responded back, all the while Juniper could see him from her position leaning against the counter.

Her hours were getting ridiculous. Juniper needed money, but she was getting run into the ground. She barely got any days off since every one she had been scheduled for she had been called in. And, the days that Mark was working, she ended up leaving work even more angry and worn out than when she had arrived.
"Juniper." It was the store manager. Thank god it wasn't Mark. "We're going to need you to stay an extra 3 hours tonight. One of the cashiers called off."
She groaned. She had been hoping to just relax tonight before her opening shift tomorrow, but now it looked like she'd be closing. And she couldn't say no. She needed the money. "Yea, ok."
One of these days she'd get some TLC.
