Niamh sat on a checkered blanket in the meadow, laughing as her pair of Vespercats frolicked in the flowers. It had been another long day at school, and she was happy for a chance to unwind. The sun was setting, and the tiny Fey had snuck her dinner out of the dining room, wrapped up in a napkin.
She picked at the dinner roll, popping an edge of it in her mouth. The perpetual dusk around her was darkening, marking the oncoming night. She knew she had a solid hour until curfew, so she could enjoy her freedom a little while longer. And her familiars.
Her Crocobee was happily buzzing in the flowers while the Vespercats played. It was all quite blissful, really. Niamh had found great comfort in familiars since acquiring her fist Crocobee. It was like always having friends around. She grinned at the thought. Friends were great.

Aedus walked towards Niamh with a bunch of his familiars following him, his Skyfish, Spectrefoxe, Yellow orange wisp, Blue green wisp and many more of his familiars following behind him. Floating and running off to play with Niamh's familiars, especially the sibling and parent corcobees that wanted to play together. Aedus sat down across from Niamh and said gruffly. "Hey Niamh.." He wasn't sure what to say next but there were familiars and she was there so it was better than trying to talk about a movie or something. That would have been inpossible, seriously talking to a female about a movie who did that?? Aedus watched as she twilight started fading into a darker twilight. "So what did you want to know??"

The tiny Fey watched as a stream of familiars streaked out into the meadow, and perked up as soon as she saw the Crocobees. If there was one thing better than her familiar friends, it was her real Daydream ones. She grinned broadly and half squealed as Aedus sat down across from her.
"Aedus!!!" She lunged across to give him a quick hug, totally oblivious to the need to respect the personal space of others. "It's so good to see you!" Obviously her friend had also graduated from their freshling course load. He looked older, too. She offered him the dinner roll on her napkin, because that was what friends did. "You want some? I didn't feel like staying inside tonight, so I uh... snuck it outside." She smiled impishly. You weren't really supposed to take food out of the cafeteria, but really, who was she hurting?
She tilted her head at the question. Of course there were lots of things she wanted to know. She just hadn't had a particular thing in mind... But how helpful of her friend! "You're so nice! Uh... How would you suggest I entertain my Vespercats while I'm class. I'm so afraid that they're getting bored while I'm gone. Azure is happy to just buzz around, but they seem so ancy when I get back to the dorm, and I just feel so bad!"

Aedus was happy to see the family of crocobee together, and it was nice to see another daydream though he wouldn't admit that out loud. Certainly not as happily as Niamh did. Aedus frowned he was confused he had been confused by this little fey from day one, he growled she smiled it just seemed to be the way of things between them. Aedus did his best not to be harsh with her though, since she had been there for him, even when he was grumbling like a jerk. Aedus mumbled. "It's good to see you too." He wasn't sure what to do with the pounce hug other than to catch her and awkwardly pat her on the back. Aedus sat down and shrugged accepting the bread. "I won't tell." he said plainly. Aedus blushed she flustered him so much. It was hard to figure out what to do with Niamh for Aedus. "Well for entertaining my familiars, I set up toys they can play with at my dorm while I'm in class, or take them to my parent's place." He grumbled them "I'm sure my mom would watch yours too if you need the help."

She smiled happily and fished out another dinner roll. "Thanks. I don't wanna get detention or something. That would be lame, just for wanting to eat outside. " She rolled her eyes. There were a lot rules to follow when you lived in a dorm. Ah well, it was still a lot better than a huge variety of other cases! She popped a piece of the roll into her mouth, and chewed while watching the frolicking horde of familiars.
The blush on her friend's face went right over her head. Perhaps one more side effect of being a cache child. She listened to him keenly. "Ugh, that's so smart. Seriously, how did I not think about setting up toys!" She shook her heading, and smiled. " Good thing you're an expert! Also, that's so nice! I might have to take you up on that sometime!"
Chewing on another piece of roll she glanced at her friend. "How is it, having parents right there?" It was an oddly deep question for Niamh. She generally didn't spend too much time reflecting on what others had and she didn't.

Aedus shook his head "You don't blond in detention, your to good, I'm the detention type, not you." He grumbled, he couldn't even imagine Niamh having to go to detention that would be so weird. "I'm sure you would have gotten permission if you had just asked, I doubt anyone would say not to you, about this." Aedus said simple as he ate a roll. Aedus smiled watching the familiar, taking care of them was really what made him happy. Normally he hid the softer side of himself, but somehow Naimh had broken down his walls. Aedus waved away her embarrassment. "Don't worry about it, you didn't have many familiars when we met as freshlings, so you had right to not know yet." Aedus grumbled softly. Aedus rolled his eyes "My mom is a pain, she's the one who decided this move was "good" for me."

She nodded slowly. It was hard for the little Fey to really imagine what it was like to have parents. It was only a concept to her, something taught in class. It was all in the abstract, like multiplication, or something. She polished off the last of her roll, as full dark started to settle in. Almost curfew.
"But it hasn't been all bad down here, right? There's interesting familiars and stuff for you to study, right?" She watched her little familiar family playing in the field, feeling a little guilty that soon they'd all need to go inside.
"And, I guess as soon as you graduate you can move back Above, right?" That made her feel a little weird. She appreciated their friendship. They were already juniors, so did that mean that pretty soon, he'd be gone. Weird.

To Adeus family was solid annoying thing that drove him up a wall, made choices he didn't like. It was hard for Aedus to understand where Niamh stood never knowing a family, as he had, he didn't really feel sorry for her. Since clearly she was a sweet kinda being without a family standing behind her. Aedus nodded "You really always do see the glass as half full don't you." Aedus grumbled in his normal tone, he couldn't tell her she was wrong. Since she was right there were familiars in the Bellow he would not have met in the Above. Aedus frowned he hadn't thought about it before leaving, leaving would mean leaving Niamh. "You know it's weird I don't know if I'd want to go.." Aedus said softly his voice low.

She stared down at her knees. This was just a weird conversation. Niamh was generally a little more topical. "I guess so. I mean, really, what's there to be sad about? We're still young, anything we don't like can change. " Strangely deep for the little Fey.
Full dark had settled onto the meadow. Niamh looked wistfully out across it, and the familiars. She let out a shrill whistle, and her familiar family streaked towards her. Azure buzzed near her head, the Vespercats made a purring pile at her feet. "Well, I know I'd miss you if you went back Above!" She shot him one of her usual smile.
"I think it's time for me to go back to the dorms. Not getting detention, y'know?" She stood up and dusted herself off. "Thanks for hanging out! Oh, and thanks for the idea about keeping this lot entertained. We'll see you soon, right?"
Midnightglow18 Shall we wrap up, just in time for the meta? XD

(Works for me since I have no idea how we would transition otherwise O.O ) Aedus smirked at Niamh it was odd having someone around who cared about what he did so much besides his parents, but by the time Aedus graduated from university, he would be old enough to make his own choices. The idea of leaving Niamh bothered Aedus though he didn't really get why; she was just a female fey. He shouldn't have cared so much about her right? Aedus got up and said "Come on I'll walk you back to the dorm no sense you walking back by yourself." Aedus shook his head and said "Don't worry about it." Aedus didn't want to leave Niamh to wander around school by herself. (If they get caught in the meta heading back to the dorm I think that would be fine, or setting it when they were at the festival. )
