Why was she in this part of town again? Oh yeah! There was a small library near by and the russian blue was interested in trying to get in. The big city library had better security, not to mention the chance of that cat stopping her again. This library she was headed to would hopefully have weak enough security she could get in, or she could just walk in while someone was leaving and not get caught. She was hopeful, she needed to get into a library! She was tired of sending people to borrow books for her...it was so time consuming when she could easily do this all on her own...well aside from taking the books home with herself. But that was a small, minor, detail.
If she could get in each night she could do her reading there all on her own! There would be no need to borrow the books. She could sit in the library with all the books she could need. It would be made easier, a lot easier, if she could take on a human form...but alas that was beyond her reach for some reason.
The fact that she’d met a corrupted cat, like herself, who could take on their other form caused the hair along her back to raise. Green eyes alight with anger over this. She would not remain beneath that other cat for long! She would catch up and be her equal, if not her better.
Nodding her head as she thought about this, a pleased purr rumbling in her chest, Katya came to a stop. Someone was nearby….not likely one of hers but someone who could be…..ohhhh…
The idea of rows and rows of books was tempting, very tempting, but...but it was a corrupted senshi she felt! Biting her lip, giving a mental apology, she took off toward the feel of chaos. The books would come...later but they would be hers!

Getting across town was a lot easier when you were powered up. There were some downsides if someone caught you at it, but for the most part if you kept to yourself it was all kinda thrilling. Leaping two stories was a trip and running along rooftops kept you out of mundane traffic, seeing things no one else got to see.
It also gave you chances to fill quota when opportunities arose, like now. Booted feet hit the pavement behind a portly man in a white shirt and greasy apron, coming down with a thump that drew his attention. Too bad for him, it wasn't quite fast enough as he lowered the still-smoking cigarette from his mouth and made to turn. He never quite made it and the cig fell forgotten to the ground as he groaned.
Fulgurite grimaced as he held the guy in a tight headlock and pulled with all his strength on the thread of energy he'd seized hold of. He wasn't gentle and he wasn't merciful, but he didn't see much reason to be. The corrupt had a quota to meet and the fast he got it done, the better. The bigger man slumped as his energy drained and finally Fulgurite let him go, standing over the collapsed man with a sizeable ball of energy in the palm of one hand.
Looking at the man on the ground he felt... nothing, and something about that worried him. It was a whole lot of numbness and little else. Sort of like the emotion in it all was hard to find these days. What did any of it matter, really? That man didn't matter... the woman he drained yesterday didn't. They'd sleep it off and be fine tomorrow. His fingers closed around the ball and he blew out a long breath, shifting the hairs that hung in his eyes.
Probably time to call in a captain to take the energy... one of the many annoying aspects of this.

As her four little legs carried her closer to the signature she turned off the side walk and away from the people walking about, some woman with a phone pressed to her ear almost tripped on her as Katya dashed in front of them on her way down an alleyway.
After some time running, wanting to close the distance before the corrupted could leave, Katya finally spotted them and called out. Her little hat had, at some point, started to fall off her head and was dangling by her ear only. "Finally! I found you." She called out, glad to see them still there, and oh how they looked good. But what were they senshi of and who had brought them into the Negaverse - so many things to find out about them.

The senshi jerked as he heard someone call out to him and he spun, expecting a woman or someone who had stumbled onto the scene. He was fully prepared to shove his hand into a chest to cover his tracks, but... there was no one there. A quick glance around, and then downwards, produced only a small grey cat with some sort of odd pink hat dangling off one ear.
It was probably that more than anything that clued him in to what this was and his eyebrows rose, the ball of energy he held rolled between his long fingers.
"Found me? Were you looking?" He said as he rocked back on his heels, his head tilted. Long hair poured down his back, black streaked in blue, till it nearly dragged the ground, sweeping his ankles with the motion of his head.
"If Alex sent you, you can report me being a good little soldier, see?" He said as he brandished the energy orb. "I was just about to call a captain for the turn in."
The cats the Negaverse kept around were an oddity to the young corrupt, who still hadn't had much experience with them. He saw them around, saw them with people, and had heard they could identify senshi needing awakened, but that was about the extent of his knowledge. It put him at a bit of a loss what to do with this one, who seemed very intent on him right now. Almost uncomfortably so.

"I was not but I sensed you and decided to head for the signature." That said she moved forward, without a moments hesitance, and rubbed herself right against his legs. "I was out on my own, there is a small library near here." And she had been hoping to find a way in, somehow, but this was far more interesting to her.
"I like to check in with any corrupted senshi I sense." Since they were her realm of power, in a sense. She could identify them and awaken them...or help in doing so. She could help in naming them and she also liked to think of them as her's, at least the ones she helped in awakening. They were sort of her family...even if they didn't know or like the idea.
"I'll let him know though, when I return home later. For now I think I'd like to spend some time with you. Not to observe but I do enjoy the company of corrupted senshi." As she knew some officers didn't like corrupted senshi...they could all use a little extra love, in her opinion, because of it.
"According to Benitoite's notes you would be Fulgurite. I'm Katya."

The young senshi remained very still as the Mauvian rubbed against his legs, the motion so very cat-like he could have sworn she was just another, normal, cat. Lola used to rub against him like that, before Orah moved out and took the cat with her.
That thought darkened his features and it was a struggle to shake it off... his sister's room mate still had Lola, though Orah had been missing for over six months now. He still had her things too, mostly because Matthew and his father kept avoiding going over there to collect them. Doing so felt like giving up on her... admitting that she wasn't coming back and accepting the situation. He, for one, wasn't ready to do that, so Lola stayed with Arian.
Fulgurite frowned down at the cat weaving her way around his ankles and sighed, the energy orb still rolling in his fingers. So she hadn't been sent by Benitoite, but she knew him well enough to have seen his notes... and it made him uneasy to hear the general was keeping notes on him. He didn't want any more attention paid to him than strictly necessary, and that would be better served with no notes.
"Yeah, that's my name. Senshi of Springs, I guess. Katya, huh? Do you Mauvian's choose your own name, or does whoever corrupt you choose it? Or do you like... have owners before, who give you a name?" The senshi asked. He hadn't realized he had so many questions about the corrupted cats, but once he got started, more popped up. "Did you have owners before you joined the Negaverse? Were you a normal cat before, or could you always talk?"

"Good to know." Nodding her head she got up, onto her back paws, and stretched against the others leg. Did she need to ask him to pick her up? It was easier to be more on level than looking up at him, hurt a cats neck after a while really. "I think it might be different for each of us. Benitoite named me, but I did have a previous name." Not one she wished to think about, it was rather childish but she'd been named by a child. She had been pampered by the previous family at least, as if it made up for the bad name she'd been given.
"I suppose normal...I don't know if we were reborn in the same way all of you are. We might be and just need to be woken the same as you all are." She sat down for a moment before preparing herself to jump...and launched herself toward the others chest. intending to cling to him and leave him no room to really do anything other than hold her. Claws out and meaning to cling to his clothing as she tried to hold on.
"We should...get walking." She said with some manner of strain, he had better be ok with carrying her. She wasn't walking about all night and trying to keep up, and stare up at him while talking.

"Reborn?" He asked, starting as she jumped at him, he jiggled and hissed as her little claws went right through his thin uniform, reaching automatically to put his arms under her and lift her up so she'd let go. It was any cat owner's sort of reaction and he wasn't really inclined to be mad at her for it, even if the unspoken demand to be held was mildly annoying, in the way cats were sometimes mildly annoying.
"Do you mean like... a fancy way of saying we're now all these special soldiers or like... reincarnation, die and become a cow, sort of thing?" He had only a barest understanding of the religion his mother had practiced. Orah had known more, but he'd just never cared. She'd also had a living teacher for longer than he had...
"Where to then?" He said as he boosted her up onto his shoulder. He didn't fancy cradling her the whole way, soft and cute or not. "Bischofite named me... I didn't get much say in the matter. Does that mean you've always been with Benitoite?"
He didn't know the blonde General terribly well, but he hadn't wanted to try to know him better anyway. He hadn't wanted to be part of all this, it hadn't been at all appealing to immerse himself further in it.

Retracting her claws she took the time to nuzzle at his chest and try and apologize. She had not wanted to hurt him, she would never hurt her corrupted senshi - they were hers after all.
"Something like that. You were once a senshi - white moon...in an ancient past. It is why the youma do not like you even now. At least that's what i think. I'm not sure on that since Negaverse officers were once knights in that same past. But I assume that's why youma don't like corrupted senshi or cats like myself." She spoke gently from his chest, where she was nuzzling even more, as if to take the sting from her words away. To know something hated you, for something you'd never done and weren't any more, could hurt.
"All of us, even on the other side, are reincarnations or descended from a previous...though I don't know how to tell the difference. But you aren't born up or down some sliding scale...you won't become a cow or something like that." She stated, staring up at him, and sticking her nose up at the very idea. Her...a cow? Really?! Never! That was absurd...and disgusting.
"I was living as a normal house cat before I was brought in by one of the higher up's...by a General Queen - though I don't remember which one. I decided, on my own, to go with General Benitoite and he renamed me." She was not about to mention her previous name...it was mortifying and embarrassing. "Anywhere you wish to go, lead the way." Draping herself across his shoulders and taking the time to lick at his cheek and whatever other skin she could reach.
"Benitoite is a good General - cooks fresh meals for me since I don't need, or want, cat food. That stuff...how I survived on that as a normal cat I will never know." Nope, that stuff was not suited for any cat...guardian cat or otherwise - it was a crime! Purring as she rubbed her face against his neck she settled in for him to walk and her to tell him whatever he wanted her to, she liked the feeling of being around one of her corrupted. The aura was calming for her, unlike those poor white moon senshi who didn't like the auras they gave off - too bad on them.

She was certainly… affectionate. The teen melted under the nuzzling of a small head against his chest and forgave her instantly for her claws. He couldn’t help it, even if he’d never admit it to another soul. She was just so small and soft and disgustingly cuddly... how could anyone say no to her?
The reincarnation talk was simultaneously fascinating and kinda of disturbing. It had been easier to brush off when it was a nebulous concept he only ever saw on TV and movies. Hearing about it from someone who was supposed to know what she was talking about made it uncomfortably real. Who had he been in his last life? Would there be another after this? Did he get any say in who he’d be reborn as? A lot of questions with no answers.
Katya settled warmly around his neck, a little bundle of heat behind his hair, and he couldn’t help a crook of a smile at the way she set to rubbing against him. The licking, however, had him grimacing, but he tolerated the scratching till she settled down. It was worth the little discomfort for her slight weight on him. Anywhere I like huh? There wasn’t any particular places he wanted to go, so he chose a direction at random and set off, putting up a hand to brace her when he jumped to the next roof and settled into the familiar rooftop landscape. He knew this view well and it was a comforting thing. He’d see anyone coming before they got close, and no one on ground level could see him. It was perfect.
“My sister’s cat, Lola, never minded the cat food we gave her.” He noted. “But since you’re not really a cat, I can understand why you might not like it. Do you do other cat stuff, or do you literally just look like one? And what exactly do you do? I mean, I know some corrupts get found by cats, but I didn’t have one. So if you aren’t required, then what else do you do, that the Negaverse wants to keep you around?”
They seemed like legitimate questions. No one had ever really explained it, and for an organization as blood-thirsty as the Negaverse to keep around something potentially useless… there had to be a reason.

With her head laying against his uniform, and flesh, she let her ears twitch and swivel with each sound before they focused in on his voice. "Indeed, normal cat food...is rather disgusting in texture and worse in taste. I don't doubt some have eaten it before, and maybe still do, but it's not our thing really. Though I can't say if it's a healthy and nutritionally balanced thing for us. It's not as if a vet would be a good place to take us and ask." She wasn't sure if anything different would show up and the risk of slipping and talking too high, especially for some of her fellow guardian cats. Not to mention what may come from a full exam, blood and all. No, it wasn't a good idea really.
"Especially since some of us can take on a half human form. I can't - yet but I will be able to." She stated giving a deep purr at the idea. She had seen, and faced off against, another of her own corrupt kind and they had taken a human form and walked away from her. She would attain that...soon. Then she would get back at the other.
"We do groom ourselves like a cat, since no hands, though a brushing is preferred by me. I know of at least one who I believe would have a thing for cat toys. As for myself...shiny things are rather eye catching." She got distracted by luxury goods, especially things she wanted and thought would look best on herself - not someone else.
"We aren't needed but we do serve a purpose. If a General goes to corrupt someone and they should be a senshi - like you...it can't be done. The General cannot corrupt them. Here we can come in and identify that yet they should be a senshi and we can give them their senshi name, henshin pen, and we know their sphere. We can't do the corruption, a General Queen or King must do it or someone higher." Their Queen.
"We serve to guide those senshi who serve our side - like you. We are here more for you than the other officers. As cats on the other side serve senshi so too do we." There was a unique sort of bond there perhaps...or something similar. Where the cats should be closer to the corrupted senshi, even if they chose to live with an officer as she had. She had a special love for the corrupted senshi and wanted to especially take care of them - they were hers.
"Benitoite had one by the mall...I found them and let him know that I'd found a potential senshi. He called in the General king to do the corruption. But I remained after giving their name and sphere. I wanted to make sure they did not leave and were not too stressed or anything of the sort." She hoped by way of example it explained her role just a bit better, explained the car a cat should have for corrupted senshi.

Fulgurite wasn't entirely sure how useful a cat actually was, if all they could do was identify senshi, their sphere, and give the a pen. Still... if they were on this side, they weren't awakening new senshi to make his life harder, and that was nothing to sneeze at.
The reminder that a general couldn't corrupt a senshi quieted him and his arms tightened a fraction as he frowned. He knew that fact quite well, actually. Not that she had any way of knowing that if Benitoite hadn't told her. Who would think it much of an ordeal, anyway? It was just having your very soul invaded... twice. No big deal.
It sort of soured his mood though and he swung his path around as he paused.
"Do you eventually want me to take you back to Benitoite's? Or just drop you off anywhere?" Probably best to head that way, rather than way from it, if he had to go there anyway. It was probably a better idea to drop her off than leave her to fend for herself, she was such a tiny thing, but if its what she wanted, he wasn't going to force her.

Noting the slight tightening in his hold on her the russian blue nosed at him gently. "Did you know we can also, though it costs a lot of energy, help in a battle. The cute little star on my forehead isn't just for show, same for other guardian cats as well. So if your ever in a tight spot and I'm around I can help you." She said raising a paw to pat at him gently. Sh would help out, and be there, for her corrupted senshi whenever she could be...especially if she could get carried about and held like she was now - it was very nice.
At the others question she took a few moments to think. She had wanted to get some books...but this had side tracked her, not that she was about to complain - this was worth it. Maybe home instead of going back for books, she could do that another time. "Home, or as close as you can go without going out of your way. I'll be safe, as I said I can laser beam something in the face if it comes for me." She said this with a smile and a cats version of a giggle. She could handle herself, small or not, she had some magic with which to defend herself. "You could always crash at Benitoite's if you are too tired to get home - the guest rooms are always free to officers to use as needed." Especially for those Benitoite considered members of his team, and Fulgurite was one of them.
Katya had no idea how far he had to go from here to get to where he was staying, she also didn't know where he would drop her off and how much more he'd have to travel then. She didn't want him traveling if he was tired, especially not alone.

Fulgurite’s eyebrows lifted skeptically as she talked about being able to help him out in battle, but he smiled a little at her gentle patting. She seemed to really want to help him, and it was sweet from something as small and vulnerable as she was. Cats were weird, disconnected little pieces of the Negaverse, but at least he didn’t have to answer to her or compete like he did with some of his fellows.
“Its no big deal. I’m not tired. I’ll take you to Benitoite’s then, so you don’t have to walk. I’m probably faster anyway.” He said as he shifted her little body to be secure in his arms before he reoriented and started off at a comfortable walk. His strides swung comfortably, eating up the ground. The offer to stay was considered and discarded, though it was good to note. He wasn’t interested in imposing on his General’s hospitality if he could help it, but you never knew when you might need a place to crash.
Most of the rest of the way was filled with small things, light questions he’d had in general about his role in the Negaverse and ones he thought about to ask her about her own life. Most people didn’t get the chance to literally talk to a cat and he was interested about her point of view. He relaxed when the topics moved away from Negaverse things and he was quicker both to smile and to crack a joke. The teen never said anything about carrying her all the way, nor was he terribly put out about it. It was kinda nice, actually, being able to hold something soft and fuzzy for so long. She felt so delicate… it made him careful about he was handling her, especially since he knew his powered form had far more strength than he usually wielded.
The general’s house came into sight and he slowed to a stop, the light chatter he’d kept up dropping off.
“I guess this is your stop, Katya. Thanks for talking with me and stuff. It was kinda nice. I know Beni wants me to talk to him or whatever, but he’s not real… comfortable to be around. Nice enough guy and all, but yeah. I should be heading home before my Da starts wondering where I am.” He said as he gently lowered her to the ground, releasing her to stand on her own paws.

She was happy to have his company, having not really talked to the corrupted until tonight. She would, in the future, seek him out to converse with that was decided at some point by the guardian cat. Snuggled into his arms and petting him him, kneading where she could with her paws, she was happy to have the corrupted's company as they talked. Her chiming in with little bits and pieces of information, while seeking to assure him of his place in the Negaverse and make him as comfortable in it as possible.
When the topic changed she easily went with the change as she took note of how he opened up more. He was younger than Alexandre, something she had to remind herself of, and he hadn't served as long...hadn't seen and done as the blond had. He was still a teenager - it was sweet and innocent in a way. She told him about herself...that she had once been a normal cat and lived a fairly normal life. She somehow, along the way, let it slip that she had been Missy to her former civilian owners and that she did not go near them. She didn't want to, at the risk of being seen by them. She also wasn't too terribly attached to them either. She was happy with where she was now, her owner cooked her meals, she got to read and where she slept was comfortable.
She did complain that she still couldn't manage a keyboard very well and cellphones and her didn't see eye to eye when it came to letting her text, dial, or even unlock the screen half the time. They really needed to be altered so cats could use them too, never mind the fact most cats were nothing like her. She was one of the rare few who could talk and do the many other things she could.
When Alexandre's home came into view she nodded her head. "Indeed, it was very pleasant. I'd like to spend time with you again in the future." Reaching up to lick at his nose with her sandpaper like tongue he head butted him gently. "You shouldn't worry about him. You could pick him up and carry him off like a sack of potatoes. Seriously...he's not bad...caring and mothering if anything." Something the corrupted would find out if he ever turned up hurt at the house, or if benitoite ever saw or found out that he was injured.
Set on the ground she smiled up at him. "Have a safe trip home. If you need anything - call." And hopefully he would call and set up another meeting between them. He was a corrupted and one of hers at this point. He was a sweet child...who really was comfortable to be held by.
Moving closer to home she hoped over the fence and into the backyard so she could let herself in via the doggy, and kitty, door. She wasn't going to scratch at the door and have Alexandre let her in - she could let herself in.
