Loneliness. It was a cruel and bitter mistress to all it cling it's claws into and currently he was feeling it. The weight of being alone, without friends or loved ones. He didn't have any family, as far as he knew and he definitely didn't have a lover. It's not that he didn't want one, it was that he was too proud to settle on just any mare. Would he object to a one night stand with someone he'd never see again? Sure. Since there wasn't anything to be said afterwards or any awkward hellos. It was just a one and done and move on.
Was that all his life was going to be though?
As of late he had started to contemplate a lot of things, especially with the coming of winter. It was just around the corner and he could feel the cold of it biting at him. It was a pleasant feeling, he very much enjoyed the bitter harshness that winter brought to the lands. It reminded him of himself he supposed, though he also enjoyed it because it reminded him of home. Wherever that was. He didn't remember much, just that snow made him happy, made him feel alive a bit more than usual.
Giving a small snort the dark stallion looked towards the sky as the sun slowly began to creep over the horizon bringing with it a vast array of colors. Flicking his tail he gave it a glance longer and then headed towards a mountain range not too far in the distance. He figured he would be able to find a spot to make himself cozy in for some time. At least that was his plan. He was just longing for the nice cool air of winter and snow to soothe his senses and just take him away from this rugged wasteland of heat and death.
After what seemed like eons of walking he finally found himself not too far away from the range and the temperature was starting to feel more to his liking, that and there was noticeable amounts of green finally. Granted half the day was now gone but that didn't matter to him, he was finally somewhere that was comfortable to him and that was all that he cared about.
While there wasn't any snow, that didn't upset him. If he was to travel up the mountains he was certain he'd find some but he just wanted to be out of the desert, which he finally was. Nibbling at a few blades of grass he moved along, searching for somewhere to call home for a few days, or at least for the night.
Perhaps he'd even find himself someone to talk to while he was here.
