Ren got up and got ready for the day. It was such a change when he used to sit there before school and dread going to class. Dread seeing his fellow students. You see when Ren had first come to the academy he had been a wallflower. He blended into the background and was only acknowledged when someone wanted to bully him. He had no spine and didn’t stand up for himself what so ever. At the time he knew he was going to amount to anything and he had been fine with that. As Ren looked back on that self, it made him almost want to cry. He never wanted to be like that again. He had changed. He went out and made friends. He had fallen in love with a girl and it had helped change him. At first he did have to admit it was the silliest reason to change but then he realized he wanted to change for himself. So he did. He no longer blended into the background, classmates asked him out when they went on outings. They got worried when he disappeared. He didn’t let people walk all over him anymore and he was able to meet people and hold a conversation.
He had friends now and dreams. He even had a girlfriend. He had started to even like himself now and he was looking forward to each new day and how he would chance. To sit there and stagnate, you just became problems for someone, even if it was yourself. Sure he was still really shy and he was working on really low self-esteem but the point was is that he was working on becoming a better person. He was starting to believe in himself. No he’d never allow himself to go back to that past version of himself, after all we all had to grow up and Ren wanted to grow up the right way.
