This is not a monster fight but a spar with any PC that has been turned into an animal. We suggest two Chosen per turned PC!
Turned PCs do damage based on their weapon weight. This means that base damage and bonuses match the standard weapons:
Balanced weapons, or weapons of a middling/average weight, do a base of 6 damage. Agile weapons, or weapons that are small and light, do a base of 4 damage but give +1 to your hit roll. Heavy weapons, or weapons that are big and heavy, do a base of 10 damage but give -1 to your hit roll.
However, in this case, PCs always attack first. Instead of rolling init, the class of your weapon is used to determine HP.
Turned PCs with Ranged weapons have 60HP. Turned PCs with Melee weapons have 70HP. Turned PCs with Defensive weapons have 80HP.
Once Turned PCs are brought down to 5HP or below, they can OOC choose to submit to capture -- aka, taken back to camp and kept safe until a solution to the problem can be found -- or run away, at which point they escape the thread and recover all HP for their next battle. Either way, all parties who participate in the thread get standard Spar XP: 10XP for completing the spar, and an additional 10XP if they hit 800 words.
Until PCs have been captured, they cannot participate in any kind of thread except this one. After capture, they can do PRPs or battles with other players, but still cannot speak.
From the camp led a lone set of footprints; A small shoe to be sure, but one that looked to be a heavy boot with the tread left in the muddy ground. The tracks stopped abruptly however, in a clearing right along the edge of the woods.
There laid a shirt and olive jacket thrown haphazardly to the side, dirty, but not torn. The pants and boots were a different story entirely, they barely resembled the articles of clothing that they used to be. Not far off was a bag, again hurriedly tossed aside, it's contents spilled across the ground. There was a ruggedized laptop along with quite a bit of snack food as well as a journal filled with schematics and equations and technical jargon adorning the pages. Doodled on the front cover in flowery metallic letters was the name Briiva.
It was oddly quiet at the clearing, without even the sound of birds or insects filling the muggy air.

As many Chosen had come to learn, piles of clothes tended to mean an unlucky animal-folk. In this case, the clothing looked remotely familiar to Brian. He had not followed the tracks so much as wound up out in the forest again with a small group of people and people-animals and happened upon scattered belongings. The laptop may well have bitten the dust, but the journal still seemed intact. Brian bent and inspected what appeared to him to be total genius babble sprawled across the page. A Hephaestus Chosen, maybe? He picked the journal up cautiously, flipped through the pages looking for some sign of its owner, and then got to the cover.
Right.
"Guys," he said to the group he had been traveling with: "Briiva might be nearby." He was struggling to remember just how powerful the young woman had been and whether she might be extremely large or dangerous. In the meantime, he flashed the cover to the others.

"This looks ominous," Lex drawled looking over the site, some clothes intact, a back pack, a pile of shred clothes. So not a small creature. Which met what? Another fight with some large? "Who is Briiva?" He asked, wondering slightly. He couldn't put a face to the name, but it wasn't a terrible surprise. He was still meeting people.
"And do you think she turned into a bear?" Another Rafe fight? Though there was a lot of large creatures.

Beth had been riding on Misha's head for a bit, until she got too cold to stay out in the fresh air. Currently, she was nestled into Sylvia's shirt, a slightly strange but very warm place to be. She occasionally popped her head out to look around, unable to quite let go of her prey instincts. When she heard Briiva's name, though, she squirmed her entire top half out of the neckline of Sylvia's shirt to squeak and flail. Had something terrible happened to her as well? She clutched the hem of the fabric with her front paws, curling her back claws into it as well to give her extra stability. She sniffed, hoping she could smell her transformed friend.
What smacked her nose sent her scrambling back into Sylvia's shirt with a sharp squeal. It was like the Pred--Misha, but more, something in it telling her mouse brain to burrow, to climb, to do something and hide herself.

The pile of clothes was an unlucky sign, if Sylvia had learned anything over the course of this weird excursion. She didn’t recognize the pile they had come across, but when she saw a bag accompanying it, she wondered if she could tuck some of the clothes inside and make sure it was all in one place for whoever left it when they came back. Very aware of Beth on her shoulder, Sylvia carefully lowered herself to pick up the abandoned shirt and jacket, then walked over to pick up the pants, which might find a new life as shorts. The boots seemed beyond saving.
Sylvia squinted at the name on the notebook – Briiva… She didn’t remember meeting a Briiva. Nonetheless, the name seemed familiar to Brian, so she must have been a Chosen. She grimaced a bit at Lex’s comment, “I hope not. We did well there, but it could be a lot worse with a different bear…”
It must have been something less than desired, however, since Beth seemed to have an unfortunate reaction. The little mouse was curious at first, but then burrowed back into Sylvia’s collar. “You okay, Beth?” She reached up to offer what she hoped was a reassuring finger. Then again, there were many things that a dormouse would be afraid of… But it did alert Sylvia to the fact that there was almost no noise here but the whisper of breeze through the leaves above. She would at least expect the sound of bugs in the humidity. “Does it… seem a little quiet to you all?”

Too quiet? Always. Especially when it was too quiet and involving Briiva.
Anxiety rubbing her nerves raw, Misha prowled into the circle behind the others. Her nose picked up a confusion of scents. The hair raised along her spine as she identified her friend plus something feline and wild. She almost ignored the others completely in her need to get near the clothing, brushing past Sylvia and Brian, only pausing slightly to let her flank touch their legs in absent comfort on her way. Reaching the debris from whatever happened to Briiva, she dropped her head and nuzzled at the clothing. She sniffed. She nudged at various pieces.
Then she drew back with a soft huffing sound. Looking up, she cast a look of combined sadness and impatience at the others. Briiva had changed. She was something big and dangerous and wild. They had to find her soon before she really lost her mind, she thought. Bending again, she pushed Briiva's things into a loose pile with her nose before straightening and heading towards the treeline. This way, her nose said. Her ears strained. This way, they said as she picked up low, barely-there noises.
As the group began to look around the area, there came a brief rustle to the left as a raccoon poked it's head out, attracted by the noise made by the group. The raccoon seemed to be rather lethargic, finally singling out the humans before it mid-yawn. However, as if struck by a sudden realization, it began to flail it's arms frantically, as if attempting to convey a message.

Lex was worried about bears, Beth had disappeared into a cave of cleavage, and Sylvia was concerned about how quiet everything was. While he also didn't want to fight another bear, he knew that there were more cures among them. If it came down to it, Lex could just do some more bold acrobatics and get the creature to turn back to whoever it had been; Briiva, hopefully. Beth's retreat didn't reassure him, though, and neither did the sound she'd made. It was indeed too quiet, and silent prey was telling. If Briiva was something dangerous, she was liable to still be nearby.
It was the rustle that caught Brian's attention. Arthur had come out to join them again, and he was gesturing rather wildly. Did he know something they didn't? Just in case, Brian nocked an arrow.
"What is it?" he asked, voice lowered, "Do you see her?" Or could he just sense her, like Beth and Misha had seemed to?

Lex twisted about at Beth sharp squeal and frowned slightly. Well, that couldn't be good. But Beth was small and tiny, and a mouse. Prey, so it could be not as bad? Though Lex did not care to fight a bird again. Please don't be a bear. Or any sort of bird.
Wait... there was a flailing raccoon. "Brian, are you going to actually shoot the racoon?" Lex asked, concernedly side eyeing the other. He hadn't even shot at the gator when they had been fighting it.

There came a surprisingly sharp squeak from within Sylvia's shirt. If pressed, one of the group might have said it even sounded defiant. Beth didn't move from what she deemed as her "safe zone" cradled in the curves of her friend. Perhaps, if something overrode her mousie instincts of "HIDE" she could contribute more to the search, and the taming. But Arthur, adorable raccoon that he was, was not nearly enough to tempt her out.
Though she did stick her nose out, poking over the top of Sylvia's shirt. Then she settled back, staring up at what she could see of Sylvia's face, eclipsing the sky and the trees with her profile. It really was quite lovely of her to allow a transformed Beth the security of her bosom.

The rustle was unsettling, after the observation of quiet. Luckily, it was just a raccoon – a surprisingly sleepy-looking raccoon. Sylvia remembered him, at least. Or thought she did – hadn’t he been a Chosen? Of course, she couldn’t tell if it was the same raccoon that had been at dinner, but by the way he began gesticulating, she assumed it had at least been a human at one time.
The flailing arms seemed a little foreboding. Sylvia noted Brian’s preparation for danger, and adjusted her grip on her shield. She moved only her eyes at first, scanning the edges of the clearing in view, trying to see if anything was amiss.
Beth’s defiant squeak was perfectly understandable, and made Sylvia smile a bit. She whispered down to their friend as she turned, “It’s okay, Beth. You stay in there if you want to. Just try to hang on when we start moving, alright?” It felt like it was no longer a matter of if Briiva was nearby, but when she would attack. Sylvia reached up to pat the warm patch in her shirt gently. She didn’t want to squish Beth, and she would be hyper-aware of the tiny mouse as long as she remained there – but she much preferred knowing where Beth was. If Beth was on the swamp floor, there was a bigger chance of her getting lost or stepped on, and that was definitely not okay. If it came to it, Sylvia would try to get Beth safely to a tree or something to make sure she would be alright.
With a deep breath, Sylvia then began to slowly and quietly turn to see the other side of the clearing as well, hoping that nothing too frightening would reveal itself when she did.

Her nerves stretched thin already, the delay left Misha practically vibrating with energy. Head lowering more, her ears swiveled forward on high alert. Every bit of sound sent data to her brain. She sniffed. She could smell another cat, a bigger cat, and she had a feeling it was Briiva.
Lowly, she made a noise in the back of her throat. She hoped it sounded reassuring and coaxing. She just wanted Briiva to come out form her hiding spot so she could be brought back to camp!
Briiva stayed crouched, padding softly past her raccoon friend as she took in the group. Humans, a mouse, and another cat, albeit smaller than her. Truthfully Briiva didn't take much stock in the humans, her instincts not immediately registering them as a threat.
The mouse was of no consequence, barely a mouthful. The cat however; that registered quite clearly as another predator encroaching on her territory. The deep growl erupted from the tigers throat even as she pounced at the intruder, claws out to grab on and try to finding a grip with her teeth.

There was some old saying Brian seemed to remember that if you saw a mountain lion, it had already decided to not kill you. In this moment, that seemed rather appropriate. Beth the Mouse had sounded like a freight train running through the woods, but Briiva didn't sound like anything at all. She just wasn't, and then she was, and she was after Misha.
He released the arrow he had nocked and partially drawn. It was blunted, but he hadn't been able to judge yet just how hard a tiger needed to be hit to discourage it. He really, really didn't want to punch any holes in anyone by accident.
He said almost nothing, just let the arrow fly and nocked another. "7 o'clock!" From the way the majority of them had been facing, anyway.

Was that a Tiger? Lex tipped his head, blinked questioningly and rubbed at his eyes. Okay, was a tiger worse, better, or about the same as chasing after Sid bird, mouse Beth or well Bear Rafe.
Okay, then. Lex took a deep breath and moved, shifting to strike along Brivva flanks in a hopes of getting her to shift her focus away from Misha.
