Black and white, what and black, no matter he was the color of the night itself, the glowing moon pattern upon his hindquarters a gold imitation of the white orb high in the sky. He was currently attempting to figure out the star patterns. It wasn't going very well. Mainly due to the fact he had no idea what any of the names were so he was giving them his own version of them. "That one is Fleetfoot!" He proclaimed to no one in particular. It reminded him of a rabbit he had seen earlier in the day so that was now it's name! At least until someone told him otherwise.
Dancing about in the meadow, the light illuminating his pale spines and horn he frolicked with the fireflies that were starting to thin out as the temperatures continued to drop as the days wore on. However, he still had a few to dance with so that was all that mattered to him. He didn't have any thoughts of what was to come or what had come to pass. He just wanted to be in the moment. Tossing his head up he pranced about the field and then rolled into some of the soft grass and looked back at the sky. WC: 211

As he laid there he wondered where his mother and sister were. He had no idea he had another sister in the world, at least not now he didn't. Perhaps in time his mother might share that bit of news with him but as far as he was concerned he had no father. Since he hadn't stuck around. While he wasn't aware of the whole situation he didn't really care to find out right now? If his mom wanted to tell him when he got older he'd listen but for now he was content with just himself and his firefly friends.
Kicking his legs at the sky he took a moment to look at his right leg. It looked like he had kicked so hard that he actually touched the sky and some of the darkness stuck to it. While he knew it wasn't true he figured that's the story he would tell if someone ever asked why his leg was black like that. 'It was touched by the night sky!' He would reply and he gave a small giggle to himself and rolled around a bit more. While he knew he was safe in his current location he figured he might as well go find mom in case something came lurking around that wasn't safe.
With that he got up, gave a little kick and dashed off towards home.

Flicking his tail behind him the young colt danced around in the early morning sunlight. While he wasn't too sure of those outside his family unit, his mother and sister he adored a great deal. Ears perked forward in a curious manner as he let loose a tiny snort like whiny as he ventured into some of the denser parts of the woods. He wasn't too wary of the woods during the daytime, but they were still foreign to him non-the less. Moving through the lands cautiously, much like a deer, he paused to look around every so often. Curiously he stopped at the base of a ghastly colored tree, the bark was thin and flaky and was peculiar to him. Taking the time to inspect it's unique features he stopped only to look around when he thought he had heard something, or someone. When he saw nothing he went back to looking at the strange tree. Nótt nosed her way through the brush, she could have sworn she saw her brother wander in this direction. Her golden eyes glanced up at the rays of sun that were starting to peek their way through the trees. The air was starting to get cooler during the night and so the filly wasn't the biggest fan of leaving the warmth of the herd for the night sky... It wasn't that she didn't love the night but she liked to be warm more. So now that the sun was coming up she was more willing to follow her brother and see what he was up too. She poked her way through and then when she saw that he was examining a tree she snuck around to the other side using the tree to block her from his view and she then poked her head around the side. "Boo!"

AstoriaFallen Sorry for the rough start XD The younger mother yawned as she noticed the rays of the sun peeking over the tree line. She glanced down to her side as she walked, Hidden star moving silently at her side. The male Prong horn didn't seem the bit phased but the late night... Though most nights were. She stretched out her right leg. "Hidden Star did either of the foals need anything?" She asked him as they made their way back toward the herd's home. When Hidden Star shook his head and stated that they were both fine, last he had seem when he checked not too long ago was that Fiolnir was out star gazing and Nótt was snuggled in just starting to wake up. "Thank you." She smiled down at him. Without Hidden Star, Stormy would have gone crazy. She would have had to stop working and focused on the foals. And it wasn't that she didn't love them she did, a lot. More than she would have thought truthfully. But she also loved her work and with Freyr unable to be here with her to raise them Hidden Star filled a huge gap on keeping an eye on them. And the herd itself was very involved in their raising and education after all.

As he continued to inspect the tree he couldn't help but hear the sounds of earth and leaves crunching beneath the soft weight of someone. He could only guess as to who it was, but he let it go. He was curious about the tree more. It wasn't long however before a familiar face appeared around the side of the tree in an attempt to startle him. Feigning a frightened expression he took a step back and then gave her a wiley grin. "You almost had me." His voice held a hint of laughter. His focus now on his sister his tail flicked behind him for a moment and he tossed his head and looked around. "What do you want to do since we're both out here?" He asked her curiously, wondering if she had any ideas. He was just content with exploring little by little but was always open for negotiations when it came to what to do. WC; 159

The young filly frowned, she was able to tell her brother was just playing along. She sighed and gave up, it wasn't worth getting upset over. "Well we have lessons at sun high (noon time) so we should probably stay within the herd lands..." She walked around from the other side of the tree. Nótt wasn't one to travel far regardless. She aired on the side of caution and she was probably too responsible for a foal. She hoofed at the ground "Momma will be home soon since the sun has started to rise. Maybe we could meet her on her way back?"

Stormy Night kept walking, following the pathway that would bring her back to the herd's home. She was pretty excited about the idea of taking at least a nap. Both of the foals would have their lessons today so it would be a good time for one. When she reached the top of the hill she was able to see the cliff where at the bottom was home. She would be there in about 20 minutes.

LunaRei_SilverBlood Sorry this took so long! Muse was all fickle then when I wanted to tag things my computer decided it no longer likes to conect to the internet. Borrowing the BFs to knock out tags. "Awww, Don't frown." He said to her as he knew she was slightly upset that he wasn't truly 'scared'. Giving her a loving nudge on the neck he flicked his tail behind him as he looked around. It was true they did have lessons soon. That didn't mean they still couldn't have fun! However it seemed she was set on getting them back to where mother could find them and he figured he could at least oblige to that. No need to make her worry for nothing. "I think that sounds like a great idea. I'm sure mother would like that." Perhaps they could try and spot things on the way back. "We could play animal search on the way." He liked to see how many different types of birds and beasts he could find on his way to somewhere.

AstoriaFallen No worries, I've been busy XD hopefully we're able to stat this month haha Nótt knew that her brother was mostly humoring her. She knew that in comparison her brother was more... Open minded? She wanted to be more like that but she struggled. Responsibility and duty were the things that pulled at her the most. The idea of being late to the lessons made her feel rather uncomfortable. But the least she could do was play the game with her brother. She needed to learn to relax more. She never heard of the herd having issues with predatory horses before but those stories always scared her. "Okay, that's fine." She tilted her head some. She set off in the direction that her mother would be heading, her hears twitching to the sounds of the animals. "Why do you start?" She asked her brother as they walked. She wasn't as good at the game as Fiolnir was and it would be better for him to start.

LunaRei_SilverBlood I think we'll be able to. This is where I'll bond Vlad to him as well. smile Nudging her playfully he looked around wondering what they might see first. "What do you think we're going to learn in today's lesson?" He actually looked forward to their lessons every day, they got to learn something new and he wanted to just absorb as much as he could. His attention was stolen briefly by a flight of feathers and he paused to toss his head in it's direction. "Did you see? I think it's a type of bird!" He wanted to know what kind it was so his attention was fixated on discovering the type. Vlad had perched himself on a lower branch not too far away and was quiet curious about the two foals. "I think it went this way." He said happily to his sister.

The filly tilted her head to the side and she gave a small shrug. "Maybe they'll talk more about what each rank does." She then realized that her words fell onto deaf ears. Something, an animal caught her brothers attention. They had been learning a lot about the history of the herd which was rather interesting but Nótt wanted to learn more about the ranks. She was not too sure what she wanted to do when she became an adult. And that felt like it was right around the corner. "Oh? A bird?" She questioned him and when she noted the direction she perked her ears as she followed him.

He had heard what she had said and didn't want her to feel as though he was brushing her off. "I think I want to be like mom." He gave her a quick glance back and a smile. He quite enjoyed looking at the stars and would love to be able to do what she did. He wasn't so sure about the other stuff though. "I thought it was over.... There it is!" He said excitedly. Vlad peered down at the two foals curiously. He was quite young himself and hadn't really seen any of the Equines before. The transparent bird cocked his head slightly but remained silent. "You can see through it. How interesting." He said to his sister. While it was definitely a crow he wasn't sure why it was transparent like that. "Maybe it's spirit touched?" He asked not really expecting a reply.

Nótt wondered if it was even possible for someone to do what their mother does. No one else in the herd did it, and their mother was the only one that never took an apprentice when the ceremony was completed. Maybe what she did was inherited, it could be passed from her to them. Nótt considered this, Stormy Night never mentioned anything though... Guess the future will reveal that answer. The young filly followed her brother and looked up at the see threw bird. That seemed rather familiar. Not the bird but the transparency. "It looks a lot of like Melanthios." Nótt commented as she looked to her brother. "His body is just like that birds." Melanthios was the oldest member of the herd, he was around when Lutra when Lutra came from his basket. Nótt hadn't really ever spoke to him, he was the Herd Advisor, much to busy for foals. But she learned about him in one of her lessons. "Maybe you can see if it'll come back with us and we can find out why it looks that way?" She asked.
