Current Event: When Worlds Converge

Kaimi was sitting on the floor, going through the various things that he'd collected today when his brother appeared with a few of his friends. They barely looked Kaimi's way as they walked across the room to sitting area, the lot of them settling down there too chat. It wasn't too often that he came home as early as this so it had him a bit curious. Enough so that he abandoned the various, glittering rocks that he'd gathered up so that he could followed along after his big brother. He peeked into the room, his eyes going across each of those that were in the sitting room, eavesdropping on the conversation that the lot of them were having... and he had to admit it was an interesting one. He heard them saying that there was going to be a meeting between the Menehune and the Kaha'iko which just wasn't done. Apparently it was to do with the shifting in the amount of water of the world. There were land masses popping up above the water and it seemed that was enough of a threat to get the two groups talking.

Shifting slightly so that he was leaning against the wall next to the door's opening he blew a couple of bubbles in front of himself in the water, a thoughtful look on his face. He had heard the rumors about those of Kaha'iko, that they weren't exactly the most industrious people, instead the sort that just wanted to laze about all day. It was something that sat well with Kaimi as he was someone that worked a lot in an effort to try to obtain the things he dreamed of. At the same time, despite his age, he knew that rumors were rumors, they were nothing that he should think too hard on because they could easily be the over exaggerations of those that didn't care for the Kaha'iko. They might be a very nice people and at the very least they might be people that Kaimi was able to trade with. He should allow himself to remain open to the possibilities that the Kaha'iko were a group that could be useful as trading partners and perhaps even friend material.

He heard the others in the other room questioning out loud why the Kaha'iko were really calling for a meeting now. Some of them seemed to speculate that maybe they were looking for help due to their lazy natures. They wanted the Menehune to come in and solve all their problems so they wouldn't have to do it themselves. Lifting a hand up Kaimi tapped his fingers against his lips as he found himself wondering exactly why the Kaha'iko were willing to meet with them now. Was it based in laziness as his brother said? Given that he didn't know any of them, having never met a member of the other group before now.

What if it was just that they too noticed the big changes in the water levels and thought that their people should try to tackle the problem together. Tilting his head to one side Kaimi tried to figure out exactly how someone was supposed to fix a problem such as a lack of water. Perhaps they could pray to and give offerings to Kaino in hopes that the God of Storms and Bringer of Rain would help to do just that? That was the easiest way to go about it but given that it was an idea that a child could come up with that it was likely something that had already been done. If praying the the Bringer of Rain didn't help then how many plans came after that on both sides before they decided to meet up and possibly work together?

Kaimi could really say but he felt that it would be a good opportunity for all those involved. Not only would they be able to figure out the water situation together but they would be able to make new friends, right? He'd also be able to trade with the Kaha'iko for things that he'd never seen before because those things only popped up in their lands. It was something that was quite exciting to Kaimi. Gathering up his newly collected rocks he swam with them into his own room, tucking them away, before fetching his pack. He wanted to see about doing more in the way of salvage so that he'd be ready for the meetings with the Kaha'iko when they finally occurred.

Pack slung over his back he returned to where his brother and the others were, calling in to Moke that he was heading out. He barely got a hand wave of acknowledgement before he was on his way, eager to prepare for the upcoming meeting with other tribes.
