 Naosu was peering up into the tall tree, trying to keep an eye on her son that she could swear had to be half bakeneko or something with his skill in tree climbing. Maybe his unknown other parent had loved climbing trees, because he certainly didn't get it from Naosu. He was adept at it at least. She had hoped he would be safely on the ground by the time T'kani showed up. It was well past time for her beloved best friend to meet her rascal of a child.
"Careful of your wings, Chiru!" She called up to him. She was glad he was nearly fearless, but that made her worry all the more that he would take a risk he shouldn't. If he fell he wasn't exactly going to be able to flutter to the ground safely with all those branches about.

 T'kani made her way out of the last class she had for the day, brushing her hair out of the way before adjusting her bag. She was feeling a little worn out, but some fresh air and a short walk would do her wonders. Besides, her best friend was going to meet her nearby, something about a surprise? Naosu had seemed pretty excited about it, but wouldn't tell her specifics. Whatever it was, she was looking forward to seeing her cute lady friend at the very least.
It might give them a chance to talk as well, about what had happened in the Above. They had been unable to with the curse upon them, and their schedules had been at odds since the Kumiho had re-entered the world and the curse had been lifted. Even if they didn’t get a chance to talk, just being with her best friend would be more than enough.
Shaking her thoughts clear, she tried to put on a happier mood for her friend as she got near. Her ears perked up at Naosu’s voice, walking a bit faster to where she was standing, following her gaze up into the tree. It took her a while to make out the details of what was climbing around in the tree, a small freshling that looked suspiciously similar to her best friend. Could this...be her son?

Naosu looked over when she saw T'kani approach and smiled widely to her friend before she looked back up to the tree.
"Itchi Itchi Ichiru!" She sing songed. "Come back down and meet your mama's friend!" She heard a squeal from above and that was about all the warning she got before her son came plummeting, his wings held tight so he wouldn't hurt them, counting on his mother to catch him.
Naosu shrieked and hurried to do just that, knocking her over when he landed. Ichiru rolled off her, giggling like a fiend before he looked up at T'kani and fluttered his wings while Naosu picked herself up off the ground.
"Chiru! Nine save Naosu from your antics!" She sighed and put a hand on his head, then looked at T'kani with the look of one who was suffering but happy. "T'kani, this is Naosu's rascal of a son, Ichiru. Ichiru, this is mama's fluffy friend, T'kani! She speaks with her hands, just like Naosu's been teaching you."
"Hello." Ichiru said, fluttering his wings.

T’kani carefully set down her bag during the commotion, trying to stop herself from bouncing in place as Naosu introduced her son. He was so cute! However, scooping him up for a big hug probably wasn’t the proper way to introduce herself to the adorable little Fey. Instead, she knelt down on the ground so she was more at his level, and signed a short greeting to him.
Hi Ichiru, it’s nice to finally meet you! Your mother has told me a lot about you.
She beamed up at Naosu, very happy to meet her adorable son, all of her worries from moments ago lost in the joy.
He’s a beautiful boy, you’re very lucky to have him. Has he been giving you much trouble?

Naosu made sure Ichiru understood what T'kani had said to him before she sighed and followed it up with a laugh. "Ichiru is a handful." She said. "But Naosu is very happy to have him, except when he cannonballs out of trees!" She gave him a stern look, but he just giggled and looked up at her with a big grin.
"I knew you'd catch me, Mama!" He replied happily before looking at T'kani. "You look like you'd be softer to land on, though."
"Don't you dare!" Naosu exclaimed, but he just giggled again.
Naosu gave T'kani an exasperated look. "Would you believe Naosu is thinking about more children? She must be mad."

T’kani giggled silently at the byplay between the two Fey, tail swaying in amusement as she stayed knelt by Naosu’s side, grinning at Ichiru at the mention of her being softer. Taking the opportunity while he was distracted by Naosu’s scolding, she half-leapt at him and scooped him up in her arms, hugging the tiny Fey with a carefulness learned from being around his mother for so long.
While she had Ichiru occupied in an enthusiastic hug, she shot a look up at Naosu, slightly confused. It was surprising enough to know that her best friend had a son hidden away like this, but the idea that she wanted more kids was even more so. Carefully with her hands behind his back, she signed her a quick question.

Ichiru squealed when he was scooped up, then giggled madly and snuggled in, quite happy to be held by this fluffy friend of his Mama's. He was oblivious to T'kani asking Naosu a question, just enjoying being snuggled and snuggling back. He was right, she was soft and fun to snuggle.
Naosu smiled and tucked her arms behind her back under her wings. She swayed a bit. "Well...Naosu was thinking of asking you and Noelan, so Naosu needs to get to know Noelan better, but if he wouldn't mind and you wouldn't mind, then Naosu would like to see what kind of fluffy babies we three could imbue. But only if you and Noelan want, Naosu wouldn't push for it at all."

T’kani did her best to keep the small Fey occupied with snuggles while she tried to process Naosu’s request. She wanted to have kids with her? And Noelan? Well on one hand it made sense, now that she had introduced her to Noelan, imbuing stones between the two women would be out of the question because he would be left out. It still seemed rather sudden, but...even so the suggestion made her face heat up all the same.
She gently untangled herself from Ichiru, smiling at him and ruffling his hair, before giving him a “give me a moment” gesture. Approaching his mother, she looked up at the Fey she assumed was her best friend, reaching up to wrap her arms behind her neck. Standing up on the tips of her shoes, she hugged Naosu tightly and left a soft kiss against her neck, careful to keep her horns out of the way. T’kani held the tight embrace for a few moments before she finally let go, trailing her claws lightly down Naosu’s arms before taking her hands in her own, squeezing them as she looked up at the Fey with a big smile while her cheeks remained a deep red. It seemed like they had some things to discuss.

Naosu hugged her happily back and smiled sheepishly at T'kani when the shorter woman took her hands and looked up at her whilst blushing furiously. "Naosu knows there's a lot to plan, least of all since T'kani's special cute boy doesn't know Naosu very well and certainly didn't see her at her best....but Naosu looks forward to knowing Noelan better. If T'kani loff him, then he is good and Naosu will bake cookies."
It was silly--or perhaps not?--to feel so shy and sheepish all of a sudden, but it was how it was. Naosu still looked forward to talking to them both, getting to know Noelan and hopefully the three of them imbuing a stone or two (or three, if they were particularly ambitious). Was it such a bad dream to want more children? Sure, Ichiru could be a trial at times, even frustrating, but he was also a great joy in Naosu's life and no matter how tiring it could be, Naosu never once regretted him. Besides, with more parents meant more people to watch over the kids, so it wasn't as if any one person was going to take all of the work.

T’kani’s smile faltered slightly at the reference to the events in the Above from the previous month, her gaze lowering slightly as she let go of her friend’s hands. She wrung her hands for a moment nervously, glancing back at the small Fey before signing to Naosu.
I...I wanted to talk to you about what happened in the forest, as well. I was not at my best either, and I have been worried by what took place since we returned. But...at the same time I do not want to diminish the time spent with your son, or our planning a date with Noelan. We should be enjoying these times, not being sad, right?
She waited a moment to make sure Naosu understood what she had ‘said’, then smiled a little bit and turned to scoop up Ichiru again, holding him up while she watched her friend with interest. Of course, she couldn’t help but think of the last idea, and how nervous and thrilled Noelan might be at having two girls interested in him.

Naosu watched her friend's hands to see what she was saying and nodded solemnly. It was an annoying contradiction, wasn't it? They wanted to be able to talk through it, and yet it was painful to discuss. She smiled slightly to her, and the smile only widened when T'kani scooped up Ichiru, who in spite of the fact that he was filled to the brim with mischief, snuggled contently. Then again, T'kani was very soft. Who wouldn't want to cuddle her?
"Naosu thinks we should be able to talk about what happened, since we can now." She stated. "But she understands it's upsetting to talk about. Ichiru will probably just climb a tree when adult talk gets too boring for him."
"Uh huh." Ichiru agreed. "Adults are boring except when they play with me."
Naosu giggled. "See? Ichiru knows how to keep himself entertained." She looked at her son sternly. "Just be careful. Mama can only catch you if she expects you, and you could hurt us both if you plummet like that again."

T'kani smiled at her friend's response, and that of her son. She nuzzled his antenna before setting him down so that he could run free. It felt weird to leave him out of the conversation, but as Naosu pointed out, he would probably have more fun playing while they talked anyway.
Since we returned I had been trying to find a way to thwart the curse placed upon us, and while it has no power over my voice, I ended up with a notebook filled with all manner of personal secrets. I noticed that I was able to actually write about the forest when the Kumiho emerged, so I assume they lifted the curse when they made that decision…
She paused a bit to let Naosu catch up, but also because she realized that she was talking off onto a tangent. Waving her hands slightly, she started signing again once she was certain that her friend had caught up.
I wanted to apologize to you for my behavior in the forest. I feared that we would be killed, or trapped there forever, and that made me angry. I...I took that anger out on the Kumiho elders, and even worse, I used my best friend as the messenger. ...I am sorry for doing that to you.
Her smile had faltered at that point, her gaze falling to the ground as she held her hands together in front of her. She realized that Naosu might not have been bothered by it, but it would eat away at her unless she cleared the air.

Naosu 'listened' to what T'kani was saying, and smiled softly at the end. Taking her friend's hands and playing with her claws a bit, she looked down herself. "Naosu was angry too." She said softly. "Naosu thought very bad thoughts about the Kumiho elders, and she feels a thrill of fear every time she sees one. She wishes she knew what had happened to poor Tomoe." Her voice cracked. She had been almost as afraid for him as herself and was certain that even with the Kumiho out in the world that Tomoe had been killed anyway.
"Naosu could have censored T'kani if she'd wanted to, but she was angry too. She thought we were going to die no matter what we did, so why not be mad?" She looked back at T'kani with wet eyes. "Naosu promised herself if we survived that she would ask T'kani and Noelan about a triad. That way....if something happened to us.....Ichiru would have siblings. Naosu felt that was important...." She squeezed her friend's hands tight and smiled. "Is that silly?"

T’kani watched Naosu play with her claws, listening to her soft words. She realized she had never stopped to consider what Naosu had been going through, even after they had escaped from the forest. And hearing her best friend’s part of the story made her feel terrible in a completely different way. Her head snapped up to look at Naosu when the Fey’s voice cracked, tears welling up in her eyes as well. She had failed her best friend twice now, but she swore to herself that she would do better.
She slipped her hands away, trying to stay composed as she responded.
No, it is not silly. I am...humbled and honored that you would consider imbuing stones with myself and Noelan.
She paused for a moment as she tried to work out how to say it, shaking ever so slightly.
We may have to work on getting him on board, but I would like nothing more than to help create a family with you.
Smiling up at Naosu, she reached up to delicately wipe her very best friend’s tears away, before enveloping her in another loving hug.

Naosu clung to T'kani and found herself crying, overwhelmed with emotions. She was so relieved to finally talk about what had happened in the forest, so happy that T'kani wanted to have a family with Naosu, even if it would possibly take some convincing to get Noelan to agree and a whole jumble of other stuff.
"Mama?!" Ichiru exclaimed in alarm from where he had been playing nearby, ignoring what was going on until he heard his mother start crying. He grabbed two fistfuls of dress and stared up at her in wide eyed fear. "Mama, what's wrong?!"
"Chiru." Naosu sniffed and let go of T'kani to pick him up. She wiped at her eyes with her free hand and gave him a watery smile. "Mama is okay. She's just feeling a lot of feelings right now, but it's okay. It's good. It's happy." She closed her eyes when Ichiru started wiping her cheeks, fussing and looking on the verge of tears himself. "Mama is okay."
