It had only been a short time since Mistaya had been officially integrated into common society, and the process was hard on the little psyduck. The hardest part was trying to do as she was told. How could anyone expect her to sit still when it was such a nice day out? Before anyone could object, she was off and running, chasing a bug that had caught her eye...
Running willy-nilly down the sidewalk, it wasn't long before someone opened a door in her path. Mistaya ran straight into the solid wood, falling back onto her butt and blinking with surprise. Where did the bug go?

Fayth was the happiest she had been in a while, and things had been looking pretty bright to begin with!
In one hand she carried a jug of fresh apple cider and in the other arm she toted a bag of freshly picked apples. As the seasons began to change more food items became available to her, and if there was one thing she always looked forward to it was new food!
Summer stuff was nice, but Fall was even better!
She was on her way back home when she caught sight of a little girl chasing a...a bug? A little odd, but okay - "Oh my Arceus, are you okay?!" The person exiting the shop looked as stunned as Fayth was, but far less quick to react. She ran over, stepping around the still open door to look the girl over.

Mistaya gently rubbed her nose, seriously debating if it was worth fussing over. She'd lost the bug, and now her nose hurt...
The concerned voice made her look up, brown eyes wide. What a strange looking person! She couldn't help smiling brightly. "Is you the bug?" she asked with delight. Naturally, the bug vanishing and this girl appearing meant the bug had turned into the girl....

"Am I...what?" Fayth quirked her head to the side with a frown. Had she hit her head harder than she originally thought?
The woman who had opened the door started to apologize but Fayth waved her off, She could handle this; she'd seen enough E.R. shows to know what to do! Sitting her things down on the side walk, Fayth sat down next to the other child and held up two fingers. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
Her eyes didn't look dilated, whatever that meant, and she was smiling so she couldn't be that bad off.

Mistaya pouted at the girl's confusion. Not the bug.. And the woman standing taller didn't seem to be the bug either. How disappointing.
Hard to stay sad with a new playmate though! She smiled and held up her own hand, copying Fayth and holding up two fingers herself. "Fingers!"

Fayth was starting to think there was something off about this girl that wasn't head trauma related. Granted, she didn't think that running head first into a door was healthy for her, but copying Fayth's hand movement was something a toddler might do or someone younger...Was she...Was she just a big baby then? A literal big baby?
Take your apples and run.
No, that wouldn't be right. The kid was on her own and if she wasn't 'right' then Fayth couldn't leave her. "Do you live around here? Are you lost?"

Mistaya blinked curiously. The other girl didn't seem too happy. Was that not a game? Had she done it wrong? Her brow knit slightly, watching the older girl with confusion. "Lost?" Was she lost? Her guardian had told her many times that getting lost was bad. That if she did get lost, she should tell someone. Lower lip sticking out, she hung her head and sighed heavily. "I didn' mean to go lost," she whined pitifully.

"Yeah, it's when you were with someone, but something happened and now you're not." Fayth furrowed her own brow and looked around, trying to find someone who looked mildly like they were looking for someone else. What she saw was a lot of nothing. This girl could have been lost for a few minutes, hours or days for all she knew.
"Hey hey, it's okay." Fayth moved to stand and started gathering her things. "You can come home with me until you're un-lost. We'll have snacks and figure it out together. How does that sound?" Grandma Wendy was supposed to be watching her today and the older woman had said to make this trip quick, so it wasn't like she could spend all that extra time wandering around.

Wiping her eyes with the sleeve of her over-sized sweater, Mistaya looked up hopefully at the other girl. Her stomach made a gurgling sound, which made her giggle. "Snack!" Pushing herself up, she wiped her eyes again before swooping forward to give the older girl a hug. "Tank you, lady!"
She wasn't lost anymore! Now, she was with a friend! "I'm Mistaya!" she stated proudly. She'd worked hard to pronounce her name properly~

"It's nice meeting you, Mistaya. My name's Fayth." She started to walk down the street, back the way she came, but she stopped and made sure the smaller girl would follow her. She was more than a little afraid that if she didn't keep an eye on her she would get lost again.
"Come on, I'm sure I can get grandma to make a pie out of these~" And what would be better than sharing pie with a new friend? Nothing, of course!
