Ever since her little 'incident' at the beach Fayth had been reluctant to return. She padded out onto the sand, steering clear of any and all children. Even nearby Poke'mon were avoided just in case. Her grandmother had already set up a little umbrella in the sand, and was currently half-reading her book, half-watching Fayth as the child stood awkwardly in the sand.

She wanted to go play and she wanted to go swim, but she was scared of running into someone. What if things ended up as bad as they had last time? Her fuzzy ears fell back against her hair. This is why I said I wanted to stay home...

It was so...bright. Frowning, Libby opened the dark umbrella decorated with little skulls and sighed in relief as its shadow covered her body from the more brilliant rays. Of course she already had on dark sunglasses as well that only added to her dark look which clashed with the beach bodies running all about. Was such a trip really worth all this effort? Oh, but the waves are so nice they said come and see the ocean glimmering in the light they said...

Was the water really that nice to touch?

She wanted to get closer to it and look. Of course she didn't realize that a tide meant the water would be moving towards her as well. The child even hissed as a wave happened to sneak up on her feet and she quickly backpedaled all the way through the sands into someone else...

Fayth tucked strands of hair behind her ears, which was quite the feat, since they were so far up on her head. She was so focused on avoiding everyone else that she didn't noticed the one person who was careening towards her until it was too late. With a loud 'umph!' the girl fell back onto the sand and shook out her head.

It's happening again! "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do it; I'll leave." She actually scuttled back a few paces in the sand, her tail rutting out a little line underneath her, when she realized this girl wasn't like the other kids.

For one thing, she was a lot more Goth.

And she wasn't human. Not entirely.

Which gave her the courage to say, "Wait - you hit me? Why? What'd I do to you?"

Libby blinked in surprise as she heard someone apologizing to her. Shouldn't she be the one to apologize for bumping into the stranger? I guss I can't complain here. She thought with a smirk before turning around -trying to have a cool appearance despite her earlier blunder with the waters- to face the other child. Oh? It wasn't a human child, but one like her?

"Hit you?" Libby blinked again as the question came out of the blue, "You didn't do anything that satanic amount of water instead..." She trailed off and smiled awkwardly, "I mean the ocean startled me. I didn't realize you were standing out here. Are you alright?" If Cici was nearby then she had to behave - behaaaaaaaaaave. Even if it was dreadfully hard considering how irritated she was to be standing in such a place.

"Satanic...? The ocean?" Fayth craned her head to look around the girl at the water, which seemed to be doing it's natural thing of lapping up on the sand and pulled back into itself. She didn't see any pentagrams being carved into the shore by the surf, nor did she see any sacrificial Gogoats.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She stood up and brushed herself off. Her suit had sand in a few uncomfortable places now, but it wasn't anything Fayth wasn't used to. "You...You don't come here often, do you?"

If she did then she wouldn't be wearing that much black. Black tended to absorb the heat, which was why Fayth liked wearing brighter colors. Even now she was dressed in a bright, floral two piece with neon green goggles hanging around her neck. It was obvious she was dressed to swim; even if she didn't really plan on doing it today.

"It may look innocent, but it's got something hidden beneath the waves." Libby commented darkly, "You'll never know until the tentacles come and get you...." Everything about water was wet and just ugh the ocean especially could be so slimy. Just the thought brought a shiver down the young girl's spine - ghosts and stuff she could handle, but not this!

"Does it look that obvious?" Libby's hands tightened on her umbrella as a sea breeze swept through, "My family wanted to come out today so I was dragged out....I'm guessing you come here a lot." She glanced up and down over the bright clothing, "Do you even...swim?" Her gaze narrowed accusingly before she glanced away towards the others playing in the waters, "Though I suppose that's what anyone does here at the ocean."

"O-oh, is that so?" Fayth laughed nervously, not so subtly looking behind her to see if her grandmother was watching this. Naturally the older woman wasn't catching a bit of it; she was too deep into her book by now. Help me! Tentacles and scary things and ugh! This girl was just as bad as her cousins. Except, they were more grr grrr, attack your face and this one seemed to have a 'cover your mouth in your sleep' vibe.

Either way, Fayth was getting uneasy.

She'd take the bullying human kids back now, kay thanks.

"Yeah, I used to swim a lot. I'm part Lapras; it's what we do."
She looked out at the water, cringing a little when she saw the kids from before frolicking in the waves. "I don't do much of it now, though...Last time I tried to play I may have...accidentally hurt a kid."

"If you've read what I've read then yes." Libby teased lightly - thought mostly it was old black and white movies she had seen where strange monsters kept coming out of the waves. The 'Godzirra' ones were some of her favorites, but others...well those were just strange. Honestly, Cici really had to up her movie collection. Libby shook her head at the thought before catching onto w" at the other girl was saying.

"So?" She pursed her lips in a pout, "You're a Lapras! I'm a cat so obviously I hate water anyways, but swimming is your thing." The meowstic waved a hand, "If a human is going to whine because they accidentally got hurt then they can't grow. Accidents happen...did you enjoy hurting them or have fun doing it? You already said it was an accident." She smirked, "Can't let something like that get you down. If we all let our accidents ruin our hobbies or even lives then we'll never get anywhere."

She seemingly purred, "I'm sure it won't hurt to try playing again. Just don't go so hard on the little humans, they are rather fragile." She glanced towards the water with a small sigh, "If you want...I can...look over at you while you go into the waters?" Obviously she would never swim -gods forbid if someone put her in the waters- but she could at least...stay on the shoreline and cheer the other girl on?

"No, I didn't enjoy it!" She blurted out. The last thing she enjoyed was hurting someone. Throwing marshmallows or play fighting was one thing, but actual damage? That wasn't right. "I guess you're right...it's just kinda awkward, though. I mean, I can swim further than them but I'd still have to see them on the shore..."

Looking between the water and the Goth girl gave Fayth a brighter smile. "Would you...really? You don't have to but if you could...You could come sit with my grandmother. She likes reading bad books, so I'm sure she would share." The girl pointed up the beach towards the older woman under a larger umbrella. "She's even got snacks!"

"Then you're fine." Libby nodded firmly, "Honestly, sometimes humans are just jealous of how awesome we are so they like to guilt trip us. It would be a shame to see someone like you away from something she likes - so don't fret about it." The meowstic smirked, "Then wave if you see them. Let them be jealous of your skills."

Libby laughed, an actual laugh and not the eerie cackle she would do during a prank, "You had me at books, but snacks are a definite bonus!" She grinned, "I'll be watching so go show me what you've got~" She winked and waved before turning away to go seek shelter away from the approaching waters. Still, as the girl sat down she had to pause. Would you look at that? I was nice for once without scaring someone senseless...the sunlight really must be getting to me. It was enough to bring another quiet laugh as she stared towards the ocean in preparation to watch her new....friend...thing? swimming.

Fayth waited until the girl was settled in the shade before turning out towards the ocean. She didn't have to worry about her with grandma Wendy around; the woman was already offering her some cold water and her choice in reading material. She was in good hands with Wendy around.

Seeing the other kids made her tense up, but it didn't last long. She shot them a rare, brave grin before running head long into the waves. Once she was in the water it didn't matter if she was nervous or if she had been blushing; they couldn't see her anyway! Not anymore.

The stupid humans couldn't touch her here, and thanks to a new friend, she could enjoy the ocean once more.
