Oh no, ooohhhh no. How had he let Lootah talk him into this one? The two had been friends for quite some time and even though Fai had thought he was used to Lootah's daring antics, he was never really ready for them. Lootah always made his adventures seem so much less... nerve wracking than they actually were. With a sigh, Fai followed timidly after his boisterous friend, brows knit in constant worry as to what this impromptu idea might bring them.
He hadn't told his family or his herd about the odd friendship he had somehow developed between this just as equally odd stallion. He wasn't sure what they would think of a pony that sported kalona features while also having obvious unicorn and flutter blood to boot. They had meet not too long ago, Fai was off studying plant life and the different insects that roamed about, not too far outside his herd's lands, and he had run into, quite literally, or maybe it was the other way around (he didn't really know anymore), the brilliantly colored stallion. Soon after an odd bond had formed and a very odd friendship had blossomed between them.
"L-Lootah, where are we going?" Fai did his best to follow after his friend, doing his best to avoid any bumps or knots in the ground beneath his hooves. The path they were travelling was obviously one that was not walked frequently, if at all.

Lootah grinned toothily at the question, looking back at his friend to answer. "I don't know! That's part of the fun!" From the quick look he got at Fai's face, the young stallion could tell his friend was not nearly as enthused as he was with this little adventure they'd begun. This only pushed his excitement further. It was fun to see how the pink unicorn would react to the things they found.
It wasn't uncommon for Lootah to go off exploring paths he didn't know. His mother had always had him kept very close as a child, and would never let him out of her sight. It was only recently that he'd been given room to wander; his father had convinced the bright red unikalona that Lootah was finally an adult, and that he ought to be able to go where he pleased. It only took a few adventures for him to run into this newfound friend... Quite literally. Though it was rather hilarious, and he'd found a new companion, so it wasn't so bad in hindsight. He'd never told Mother about him, though. That was a little too much of a risk. Who knows what she'd do if she knew he wasn't alone exploring the woods like he'd said.
A small smirk creeped onto the male's face as he looked at the rocks and roots ahead. They seemed to be climbing in a rather hazardous manner, but he didn't mind. Without much thought, he took flight, hovering above the obstacles and calling back to Fai. "C'mon, you've gotta catch up! Just because I haven't left you yet doesn't mean I won't!" He chuckled to himself, knowing darn well that he'd never bother to call his bluff. After all, this was far more fun.

Fai should have known Lootah didn't have a clue as to where they were going, of course he didn't. When did Lootah ever really plan anything out? With an uneasy sigh, the pink unicorn tread along, following after Lootah with an ever apprehensive expression. Sometimes he wished he just stayed inside all day and became the hermit his sisters teased him of being. At least hermits never had to experience sudden panic on a regular basis.
With ever passing step, Fai noticed the path getting steeper and the rocks and tangles of roots growing more and more numerous. Golden eyes watched as Lootah lifted off the ground and hovered above the uneven surface that Fai was left to tread on. The red stallion was so unfair sometimes.
"You know I'm not going to be able to catch up to you now," Fai responded as he carefully lifted each of his hooves and placed them purposefully down with every step. The white-maned stallion kept his head down, watching the path before him with the utmost scrutiny, slowly starting to lag behind his friend more and more. "If you didn't have a pair of wings, you'd have to be as careful as me right now." He quieted for a small moment to focus on his footing. "This path doesn't seem very safe."
