Watching her son become a teenager had been interesting. She still remembered when she adopted him as a tiny child, wondering how fast time would fly and that child would become bigger then even she. It wasn't long, honestly, and Echo had been faced with the realization that time was fast and unyielding. It wouldn't wait for her to catch up. It would keep running, and she would keep aging, and eventually, if she didn't act on what she wanted when she wanted it, she'd die unhappy.
It was a morbid thought, but no one ever said Echo was an optimist.
The apartment seemed smaller now. A lot smaller then she had thought it could ever be. She had begun the moves to get a bigger home, but that one felt too big. Too empty. That, and she was sure Fletcher wanted a sibling.
So, why wait? Why keep saying 'later' when honestly now felt right? What was going to happen later that was better then now? Did it matter?
Why wait?
