 Meris sighed and sat down the pen. He had been sitting there for a good three hours and he still had a mostly blank page. He was never going to be able to write songs while in this state. He still remembered the conversation just a few days ago with Seraph. He had never really been up for the idea of children, but he knew that Adora adored them and he had mostly agreed to make her happy. Now he couldn’t really imagine life without Cybele’s and Seraph’s quirky sense of humor. Then they had agreed to take in two other children. One would think that his family would be complete but Seraph had wanted more siblings, something that apparently Cybele had agreed on. Meris had mostly brushed them off and thought the issue had been laid to rest. However the blank piece of paper before him said otherwise. Did he want more children? He remembered what had originally drawn him to imbuing in the first place… that any children would be a tiny piece of Adora. Well he supposed he was going to have to have a talk with Adora. Pushing the chair back away from the desk he went in search for the other half of his heart. "Adora...?"

 Adora hadn't expected Meris to approach her, honestly. They both had been busy in their offices, working on lyrics for a new song. She hadn't been as unsuccessful as Meris had been, either, as her page was half full of scribbled lyrics. Some were crossed out, others highlighted, and Adora seemed pleased with her progress as she hummed a soft tune and wrote away. So, when Meris called her name she almost jumped from her skin, head snapping up to greet Meris when he finally made his way to her.
"Sweetie?" She countered, setting her pen down and straightening her back, a loud crack following. She sighed in relief as the tension drifted from her spine, head tilting to the side in question. "What's up?"
Ah yes, it seemed Meris had the upper hand of surprise in his favor.

Meris winced when he noticed that he had startled Adora although he was glad she seemed to be doing better at the whole lyric thing than he was. Still he had never been good at figuring out lyrics when he was distracted and that brought him back to what he had originally come to her office for. Of course now that he had her attention the words didn’t want to come. Which was silly, it wasn’t as if he was asking to imbue in October of all things… even if he had once awakened stones in that dreaded month. “So I was talking with Seraph a little while back ago, and they asked something that got me thinking. I… howwouldyoufeelaboutpossiblyimbuingagain….” Meris groaned and slapped a hand to his forhead. Ugh this was ridiculous. It wasn’t like he didn’t already have children, or trying to work up the courage to say yes he did steal her door. “Well that was a flop. Anyways what I meant to say was how do you feel about more children?”There… it was out.

Adora slid her lyrics aside when Meris began talking, hands folding together into her lap patiently. Instantly, her eyes squinted at him as he went from a calm, understandable way of speech into a quick and almost manic one. Concern washed over her face as she was about to inch her hand to her phone. Did he need a docto-
More children?
Her face flickered from concern to downright ecstatic energy. For a second, she looked unsure what to do, hands raised in the air but body unmoving. Babies? More of them? And Meris was bringing this up? Oooooh! It was as if he had read her mind!
"Yes?!" She squeaked, finally pushing herself off her chair and wrapping her arms around Meris tightly, snuggling into the crook of his neck. "Can we? Can we really?"

No… No… No. He didn’t want concern. He wanted happiness or something that wasn’t concern about his mishap, however he didn’t have to wait that long, as what he had said caught up with Adora. There was the look he wanted, or at least more expected. So it wasn’t much of a surprise when she finally did answer him a couple seconds later. He gently returned the hug. He had a feeling she was going to be happy about his question. “ Yes, we really can. I wouldn’t have brought it up if we couldn’t. It seems the whole family wants to get bigger so who am I to say no. I’ll go and see about getting the stones to imbue,” Meris replied. "...Tomorrow." Well as soon as Adora stopped hugging him. Maybe this time Zenith wouldn’t want their heads. After all it was before October.
