Aspara was sitting in her dorm, staring off at one of her plants without really looking at. Instead she was thinking about the package that had been taken away a few weeks past. She had finally decided that she wanted to give him her intent, that she liked him more than she liked studying and biology. And she liked studying and biology a LOT.
This wasn't the first time she'd sent things to him, she'd given him plenty of letters and photos, sometimes even snacks that she'd found that she though he might like to try. Nothing compared to what she had sent him this last time though. The package was a small box with a pearl resting in it and a note. She had worked on the enchantment herself to evoke a sense of happy warmth when held (then had to fight her beloved ether jelly off of it, the scoundrel)
The note itself read:
Owen,
I hope that this finds you well and in good spirits. There hasn't been much to do around here but study, but you already know that I'm not one to complain over that. I've been thinking a lot, though, about us and how I feel when I'm with and without you, and it's left me with a very nervous settle in my stomach that I can't ignore any longer. I've written and rewritten this note so many times I think I may have downed an entire forest, so I'll just write it simply: I love you and I want to be your one. The pearl enclosed is a gesture we do when we want to pursue someone, and it certainly can be turned down if the other party doesn't feel the same. Though I hope that is not the case, if you don't feel the same you may dispose of it however you like. I suggest making a small catapult and launching it at some poor unsuspecting soul. May want to disenchant it first though, or they might enjoy it.
Please don't feel pressured to reply right away.
Love, Asparagus
She got up from her seat and paced the room furiously, unable to shake her nervous energy. He'd gotten it, right? She hadn't heard a thing, but she also told him to take his time on the matter... but it'd been nearly 4 weeks! As if the first week hadn't been hard enough, every additional week had made the wait worse.

It was a week after Aspara's mail arrived that Owen actually got his hands on it. It happened sometimes that he was simply in a place where he couldn't receive physical mail. The last mission had been rather exhausting in the amount of traveling they had done on foot. All in all, the mission had been a success and with few enough injuries as well. But, no matter how exhausted he was on his return, he of course had to check for any mail first. Letters from Mom, Daniel, and Piper were set aside when he realized he'd received a package from Aspara. What could it be this time? He stuck the letters under his am and started tearing into the package as he made his way to his quarters.
He didn't make it all the way there though, halting in his tracks when he opening the little package to see the pearl sitting inside. He knew what that meant even before he got to the message that came with it! It wasn't that he had been waiting for this moment, but he had thought about it several times. He had even considered buying a pearl for Aspara himself...but she had beaten him to it! He was overjoyed really, and overwhelmed by how to respond as well. He immediately pounced on his peers, family members, and friends.
In the end it was his Mom who gave him the best idea. It felt right. He could take just the right amount of time off to make things work. It was about time he took more time off as well....He couldn't ignore his desire to start a family any longer. He shopped for the stones on his own, unable to reply to Aspara through the mail. He had to see her in person. It took him some time to work on the kinks and smooth out his schedule. About three weeks had passed by the time he was setting off with his own package in hand, neatly wrapped and with a letter attached. If Aspara were to even get to the card it would simple read inside "I've said all I can say! I love you, Gus! - Owen". Inside of the package Aspara would find not one, or two, but three soulstones.
He was a little worried about barging in on her, but he had a feeling she'd loved the spontaneity of it. So, with the gift tucked gently under his arm and a smile on his he knocked on her dormroom door. He was a bit worried her roomamte might be around and find it awkward, but he pushed the thought aside. This was going to be amazing no matter what.

In her anxiety, Aspara had begun cleaning, attempting to busy herself with anything and only resulting in pulling out all of the cooking utensils and making a mess on the counter as she attempted to reorganize. Unfortunately for her, Jesse had gone out, which left her alone with just her thoughts and panic.
She perked up at the knock on the door, frowning a little. She wasn't expecting visitors, so maybe her roomie had locked himself out? Oh she was going to give Jesse such the teasing if that was the case. She took the few steps over to the door and opened it with a smile. Her heart stopped and her body froze as she stared in wide-eyed surprise at the most handsome imp in the world standing before her.
"Owen!" she yelled out, nearly tackling him as she threw her arms around his shoulders and hugged him tightly. "I had no idea you'd be in town! My dorm is kinda, just a little, sorta trashed." Pure elation was coursing through her at the fact that Owen was here. And then the nervous energy started again and she bit her lip as she pulled away. "What brings you by? Has everything been going well? Is your family ok?"

"Aspara!" Owen replied when she opened the door and threw her arms around him. Her returned the hug with his one free arm and even wrapped his fluffy tail around her as well, he waited for her to try puzzling out why he was here before breaking into a laugh. She was so surprised she hadn't even noticed what he was carrying.
"My family's fine! But thanks for asking!" Her held the wrapped box out to her then, and the card as well. "These are for you! Let's go inside and open them." Her smiled and stepped into the door, closing it behind him. He found them a cozy spot to settle in while he said what he had to say.
"So I'm not the best at writing these sorts of feelings. I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to you letter and gift, but here goes! I love you Aspara and I was pretty sure I'd be destined to be a single joker, stuck in a busy job for my whole life. And your letter really pushed me in a direction that...I thought I might wait a little bit longer to go in anyway. I...I would like to have kids! And I would like you to be their Mom! If it's too soon it's okay! Obviously you can stay here, but I can take some extended time off as work while we...settle into things! And...I just love you so much and I think we'd make a great family together." He waited for her to open her gift with barely contained excitement.

Owen handed the gift and card to her, and immediately Aspara's nervous anxiety lifted. She knew Owen enough to know that for a rejection he wouldn't have given her a gift. She happily let him take of leading them in and settling together on the couch.
He began speaking, and Aspara's heart sored higher than she even thought was possible. A large smile broke over her face: he loved her! He wanted to have a family, kids, with her! She could think of nothing that would make her feel more completed and content and happy than to have a family with the man beside her. "Oh Owen, there's no one I'd want to have kids or a family with other than you! I can't imagine anything better than that."
First she opened the letter, and another big grin came over her face. She loved it when he called her Gus, it was a special nickname that only he was allowed to use. She then turned her attention to the package. Carefully, she slid open the paper, pulling the box out from its wrapping, and she popped up the lid. She paused for a moment, stunned into silence with wide eyes as she looked down at the three most perfect and beautiful imbuing stones laying nestled in the padding. "Owen..." she looked up at him, her eyes tearing up in the joy and her hands trembling with excitement. It was very rare that Aspara lost the ability to speak, and yet this was one of those times where she found her voice to cease to work. All she could do was furiously nod her head. Living arrangements and settling down together would all be figured out at a later date, right now all she could think of was raising the precious babies that she and Owen would make.

Owen was fairly certain that Aspara was going to say yes, especially after receiving the pearl from her first. A part of him did worry he would push things too fast, but it looks like he had worried for nothing. He reached over to give her a big hug. This was definitely an exciting new chapter in their lives! They had been a couple for a long time now, but now it felt...very real. It had always felt real, but their had a solid footing on the beginning of their family now.
"That's wonderful to hear! So...how about we go to that cafe to celebrate first? And then we can start talking about when, how, and where?" He thought it would be just the most perfect place for them to talk about the beginning of their own family, sine it was essentially when they told each other about their own separate lives. It was time to start talking about their's together now. He couldn't think of any other place in the world where he would want it to occur!
