(enters from Dungeon) Kyran glanced around at the hallways, making sure there were no nosy maids or butlers about. Luckily, his room wasn't that far from the throne room and dungeons simply because Kyran had to stay near the kitchens where it was warmer for his health. It was spacious enough with a smaller room inside where Kyran could let Khree'en change privately. He opened the door and glanced back at Khree'en with mild concern and unsureness. How comfortable she was with this, Kyran didn't know.
The first room as usual, was rather empty, save for the many, many books on mostly empty shelves and the ground. Ink and paper was across the floor, evidently from Kyran's plans and thoughts. A rumpled blanket and pillow at the foot of a writing table near a fireplace was the only sign that Kyran slept. Past the room was a set of doors that led to another as the bed was actually covered with dust with a smaller set of doors to a private bathroom complete with a small bath. "Um.. you can go ahead through those doors to the bathroom if you wish to clean yourself and change. I'll just wait here." Kyran said, gesturing that he was sitting in the sitting room full of books and paper.

She didn't know the difference between a palace and a fortress but in her head Palace was a frilly word while Fortress was a demanding one. The dark walls and the well darkness of everything screamed fortress to her, what she had seen when she had flown to the village from the ashlands also screamed fortress to her, it was a dark imposing structure that demanded oppression, at least from what she saw.
When they got to the room Khree'en looked at Kyran while he opened the door, nodding her head as she didn't say a word as she walked into the bathroom and opened the door, shutting it behind her. Khree'en would once again strip, pulling the coat over her head and dropping the cloak so she could put on the servant clothing. The clothing did not fit Khree'en at all. They covered her well but her athletic build didn't suite the make, the dress was meant for a curvier woman so instead of defining her features it was baggy around her hips and a little to small around the waist, plus it was a dress, she wasn't use to dresses.
Taking a deep breath Khree'en pulled the cloak back on, tying it once again around her waist before she walked back out of the bathroom. She looked over at Kyran, a kind of hesitant smile on her face as she held his coat out to him "Thanks" she said calmly I uh...think I broke one of the circles" she added, meaning that one of the buttons had popped off.

As soon as Khree'en entered the bathroom and closed the door, he fell into the nearest chair and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He really has to find some nearby guest room in case this were to happen again. Unfortunately, it was difficult since the castle was often filled with more rooms filled with weapons and torture devices, rather than actual livable spaces. It was almost no surprise that servants didn't want to stay in the castle much. He then scooted off the chair and onto the floor to the nearest paper stack and books. While most of them had useless drawings and thoughts, there was a reoccurring theme to the newest editions: sickening, crudely drawn pictures of something dark. Kyran bit his lip before taking the papers and tearing them apart. Go away nasty, evil thoughts.. he thought.
He turned when the doors to the bathroom opened. Khree'en emerged from the bathroom, looking quite awkward in the dress. While the unsure smile was nice, Kyran tried not to snicker. Evidently, she was not used to such clothing. "You're welcome. And that is fine, it's just a coat." he replied, taking the cloak and putting it on again. He snickered again, before turning away and laughing slightly-not out of malice, but simply because it was a funny thing to him. Khree'en obviously was not used to the attire, but she still looked nice in it nonetheless. "Sorry, sorry." he apologized quickly. "It's just that, I thought for sure you would have tore me apart if the clothing wasn't to your liking." he sputtered.

Khree'en tilted her head slightly to the left when she heard the apparent joke and she smiled slightly "The last time I wore a dress I was two or three, Dresses are for children and once you can pick up a weapon you wear pants so you can help hunt or forage" she said, not picking up on the joke "besides, I do not see how you city people can where such frilly things without tripping over your own shoes and crying any time you spill something on clothing so expensive" she said to him rather bluntly.
Khree'en would then walk over to the bed and looked at it in confusion before putting her hand down on the dusty blankets and wiping some of the dust off, why on earth would anyone not want to sleep on this, it was so comfortable. She then went back over to Kyran and looking at the papers, picking them up. She couldn't read but she looking at the pictures, flipping though them without permission before she dropped them back into place just in order to look back up at Kyran "You do not sleep right?" she said, it was a question mixed with a certain obvious know-it-ive-ness, as if she was dareing him to say something else "You draw...good...for a person that does not sleep right" she muttered "but you draw weird things...Like the monsters in the Badlands and in story tales."

Kyran nodded, understanding her reasoning now. He calmed down from his moment of laughter to think of her words. Frilly things.. Well, it was true. However, it was typically for the upper classes. The average citizen was not so lucky in that regard to have such expensive frills and uptightness of smears on their clothes. Though, Kyran did not care so much about stains on his clothes, it was always the servants' jobs to clean them after all. "It depends of the professions of the people; Some may not need to hunt or forage at all." he explained kindly, pondering if there were any other questions he could answer for her.
As she explored the room, he patiently waited. It wasn't like he ever had visitors here, but someone who wasn't just focused on his health was something special, even if they were here for one single reason. He kept a guarded look as she started looking through the papers scattered on the floor. "I sleep when I have to." he replied shortly, not wanting to go any further. As for the drawings, even he had no idea how to explain. They were thoughts, feelings, dreams, nightmares, secrets, and worst of all: weaknesses. Everything all bundled into a nasty pit of murky black.
"I do not think any person has ever said that about these monstrosities." he continued, picking up the papers she had put back. Kyran took the pages and saw the dancing fireplace despite the warm day. He threw them into the fire, briefly watching them gleam before burning before their eyes. "You can say my imagination can be quite strange." he replied, playing with the pendant around his wrist.

Khree'en watched as he tossed the papers into the fire place and by mere desire she walked to the fire place and reached into it quickly, grabbing the top and least burnt paper before it could be completely destroyed.
Shaking out the paper she saw some embers fly off and die out before hitting the ground, the edges were slightly singed but other then that she had managed to save the page just in time. Looking over at Kyran she made a point of looking him directly in the eye before folding the paper and putting it down the top of the dress so it rested somewhere between her neck and chest "I'm keeping this one" she said as she went back over to the bed and sat down on it, her eyes went wide in shock and her shoulders tensed "Holy s**t this is uncomfortable" she barked out. The only reason it was uncomfortable to her was the comfortableness, she had never sat on something so lush that it made her feel like she was sitting on nothing at all and that her butt was numb at the same time "No wonder you cant sleep on this thing" she said but made no move to get up as she let the black sword rest against the side of the bed, slowly leaning back so she was resting on the dusty blanket, her entire body was tense as she tried to relax herself "Why do you burn them?" Khree'en finally managed to say while looking at the ceiling "Isn't paper expensive? and why draw them and write those...um...scribbles if you're just going to throw them away?"

He snorted as Khree'en had take the top paper out and flopped onto his bed. Kyran didn't understand her. Why was she keeping that paper, he had no idea. Crossing his arms, Kyran leaned against the doorway and kicked some of the strewn papers back towards the chaotic pile in the sitting area. As she sank into the bed, he shrugged slightly. It wasn't uncomfortable to Kyran- he just hated being in the bed. Year after year, being left in the bed to heal after some flu or another. When he could, he avoided the bed like the plague itself. Furthermore, it reminded him too much of how he was living. How his power is built on the sacrifice of others. "The bed is just one of the many things that could be considered uncomfortable here." he replied.
He frowned as she asked further, straight to the point. Why did it matter to her? His problems were his to hold, not anyone else's. Kyran stared into the flames, watching more pages crumble and turn to ash as they fed the fire. "I was taught to put my thoughts onto paper. But, with each one, is a sign of weakness." he replied flatly, remembering how Calilien used to hold him in her lap as a child. Bouncing him on her knee as she would draw out his nightmares. "Even if paper is expensive, I rather not burden others with my thoughts. At the end of the day, it is a prince's duty to never burden his people and uphold the beacon of hope."

She would then sit in front of the bed, crossing her legs as she looked over at Kyran "People need to make their own hope, they don't need to rely on others. If they do they die" Khree'en pointed out "At least in the badlands. If you hope someone is going to save you you probably deserve to die. You need to do things yourself" she said to him as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked toward the papers as they burned, it seemed like such a waste to burn them, and as she watched she couldn't help but smile. She had heard the Guzul tribe burnt off a limb when young boys came of age, burning the papers kind of reminded her of that myth, burning away weaknesses "Everyone is week." Khree'en said as she looked back to Kyran "Why should you be any different?" she said as she leaned forward, looking at the ground and picking at one of the stones "I can't read or write, and if you hadn't gotten me out of that cell today I probably would have been a wanted woman for the rest of my life when I broke out" Khree'en admitted, her lips pressing into a thin line once she was finished speaking.

Kyran shook his head and kept his gaze trained on the papers. Wow, the tribes much really be different thinking to believe that those who couldn't rely on others at all and find hope in themselves. Kyran couldn't quite agree with that philosophy, but it is understandable why people would follow such thoughts. "While I'm not all too supportive of such mindsets, I understand." he acknowledged with a gracious nod. Since Kyran has never really left the kingdom, he rarely heard others' opinions that didn't match the other royals' and nobilities' mindsets. "But, if there is no person they can look up to in times of need, then the hope is much more difficult to find."
As she picked at the stones, Kyran sighed. Every person is weak, yes. But in a society that is built off of war and battle, weakness is not something to talk of. This world was different, where weakness is hidden even by allies. After all, how soon would it be when an ally turns into an enemy. "There is no reason why. It is just how things are." he continued, recalling how Xarxes would unleash his anger and rage in the castle. While it showed his definite strength and made the people fear him, it also made Kyran afraid in some way. "Yes, but you make it up in spirit and willpower." he pointed out. "And by broke out.. You are not talking about trying to escape the prison, are you?" he said, his tone slightly joking. He had not really heard of anyone trying to break out of prison and succeeding. This was news.

Taking a deep breath scales started to form on her legs as they placed them together, her legs fused together and formed a long fish tail full of bright teal scales. She looked like a bloody mermaid. She look at Kyran "this is what I can do and I can go under water and get fish, but when I come back up I almost freeze to death" she said to him My normal body cant handle it" she said to him softly "Weakness is inside everyone, from me to kings" she said to him softly as she flicked her tail again.

Ah, so she was telling the truth. Wait a diddle darn second, does that mean that prisoners could escape easily from the prisons? Then how were the prisoners kept in? Sure the tunnels were winding and difficult to navigate, but it wasn't that hard. Anyway, how on earth did the guards make sure no prisoners escape? Kyran had no doubt that Khree'en was more than capable of taking down guards- she was much more resourceful and practiced a physical combat most likely that was different than the rigid regiment taught by the captain and commanders. Yes, he must look into this. "I'll keep that in mind next time then." he said after a moment.
He raised an eyebrow as she said she was going to show him something. What was she showing? As she closed her eyes and changed, Kyran's jaw fell completely to the ground. Kyran had never, ever seen anything like this. As far as Kyran read in books, there wasn't a creature alive like this. Only in fairy tales perhaps? He gulped and tried to understand said power when she continued speaking, softly. Almost gently. "W-Why are you showing me this? I mean, I appreciate the thought and your kindness.. But why?" he asked finally.
x x xMirror, mirror I'll tell you something I think I might change it all. x ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ x o.o.c: I didn't see any mermaids appear in the monster lore, so I will assume Kyran has no idea what she really turned into.

Its not a complete transformation I am still very much a Phoenix, but if I stay like this for to long I become a fish in my head" she said to him as she pulled her tail up so she was hugging her tail around where the knees would be "I mean, we live in a place were the strongest is king, but when someone stronger comes a long it means that another is weaker" she said softly "So I guess it means were all weak somehow" Khree'en said before shrugging slightly as she closed her eyes, slowly transforming back into her human form, her legs taking form once more instead of the tail that had been their..
Once her legs were back she wiggled her toes and looked up at Kyran "I do not do what I did from kindness. I just think you should know that everyone is week, not just you, everyone is week some how." Khree'en shrugged "I fight to become stronger because tribal woman tend to either die early or end up getting taken advantage of, my father told me that its not just tribal woman but all of them everywhere. Khree'en frowned as she looked down at her toes, wiggling them again "He once told me that even if the way the tribes of Phobos live are gross to others looking in, he says that he is proud that the people of phobos do not teach their sons to barter off their daughters for prizes or for their daughters to just casually sit by as they are taken advantage of. Khree'en said, her frown lifting slightly "Fathers no matter who they are in Phobos protect the young they sire, Mothers fight with a heavy sword just as fiercely as the men do, grandfathers and grandmothers rip apart those who would see the lineage they started fall into the dirt." Khree'en grinned slightly "Phobos may be gross to people, but no matter where you look; from the tribes to the Kings- the people of Phobos do not raise cowards. Its not our way. And.... Khree'en paused for a moment before continuing "After I was brought back to my tribe once I killed my kidnapper, my father pulled me aside and told me that in Phobos it doesn't matter how weak someone is Physically or Mentally because everyone in Phobos is a hundred times stronger then any perfumed lord in any of the other Kingdoms" Khree'en said as she let her leg rest against the ground and she poked him with her toes "So if you think about it. You're weak by our standards here, but you're twenty thousand times stronger then anyone outside of Phobos" Khree'en said, a bit of humor returning to her voice.

Kyran crouched down to look at her eye level. As she was speaking, Kyran just couldn't understand. Why was she being so kind to him? Of all people, wouldn't she be the one to speak of how weakness is not an option? Wasn't she against the Phobos royalty and general city folk because of their code on conduct and treatment of her clans? As she continued, Kyran's eyes watered. Of course, the way of the Phobos people was different from the other kingdoms. Built off of never being a coward, of finding the strength to protect and fight for one's beliefs. He sniffed and quickly wiped the tears from his eyes as soon as possible. It was difficult not to cry at her words; They clearly resonated with him. Kyran always felt weak compared to his family. He knew he could become stronger, but that would risk hurting others.
"There isn't enough I could say to express my thanks. Your words are truly inspirational." he mumbled slightly. "It.. it makes sense what you say." Kyran was definitely crying again. He was shaking, but his heart was happy. To hear such words. To know that someone accepted that it was ok for him to be weak. "Thank you. Thank you so much."

What she had said was true, her father had told her all of that stuff. He had made it painfully clear that he himself was the product of a man from the city and a barbarian woman having a child, and that she carried the same blood. However that wasn't why she was being kind to Kyran. She didn't know why but she didn't exactly want to kill him, maybe slap him around a little bit but killing him felt out of the question...unlike his older brother, Khree'en would probably have no problem if she saw him fall off his horse in the middle of a stampede. "Its fine." she muttered softly "I don't understand why you're thanking me" she said with a shrug. In her eyes he was still weak, at least weaker then most of the people she knew, but he wasn't so week that he needed to hide in a hovel. That being said she didn't know much about him in the first place.
Khree'en looked at him for a moment "They aren't my words. My father told me all of that. I believe most of it." she stopped for a second "Phobos is Phobos after all" Khree'en fished off as she looked at his face, noticing that he was crying. She didn't know him well, so she just smiled slightly as she looked down "No need to thank me" she said softly.
