The stairs creaked as the dusty abandoned chamber let out a lighter hum. His mouth was in the position of a frown while his hands crossed over his chest and his golden eyes stared deeply into the depth of the well of dust and decimation. This place was all but abandoned in his father's reign, though, he wanted to know why. He'd look back as he saw the guards had not found him, probably confused at why anyone would come to this sector, the king put his hand to a black, scarf with gilded lines, placing it over his mouth as he continued down the steps. He'd reach the begotten web filled library and put a hand on one of the deteriorating bookshelves.

"Is this how little you valued knowledge father?" He'd mutter while closing his golden eyes. It had been a short time since he became the king of his castle, and the change had shown. His people weren't merely waiting to die, they were anticipating change, and though slight, he has been giving them what they asked. The man walked through the small selection of books before picking one up and blowing the dust off. It seemed he had found himself a small fable. He'd stare at it a while thinking of his youngest brother and smiling a bit as he latched the book into a sling by his side. He'd then look to the stairs and back to the ground. He'd kneel down and blink slowly while he pulled up a board. The floor board would reveal a relatively new black book, with two dragon's etched on the cover. He'd stare at it while blinking a bit, though not too long after he'd put the book into his satchel and walk back up the stairs thinking. "What I'm looking for may lay in these words....Though first is the problem I arrived here with." He'd look up as his eyes glew. "Where's my baby brother?"

Evelyn stepped out of the shadows and looked around the abandoned library, it was old and dusty and in disrepair, it needed an update, and though she didn't know how much King Herod cared for the written word she knew a gift she could give him now.

Evelyn walked over to one of the windows and reached under the dusty curtain, cracking the window open just enough to let in a cool breeze, she didn't open the curtains as she leaned against the wall in order to listen to the conversation between her cousin and a potential ally.
