Humans do not live forever. Unfortunately, some demons do not follow their masters, nor do they stay in the In-Between. And then some summoning rituals just go badly. This bodes ill for the community. It’s little known that unbonded demons eventually go insane. This is not a good thing.
Sightings of unbonded demons, have been increasing. In order to avoid any deaths incidents involving these dangerous creatures that have been roaming freely, we are seeking victims volunteers to summon these demons to bond with them. Your contribution in providing a home for these feral creatures will be greatly appreciated by your community.
Strange things have been spotted swimming in the Durem Reclamation Facility. Once a prized fishing location, juicy worms and shiny lures no longer bring eager nibbles. A brightly-colored finned feral was spotted taking naps in the drain pipes.
This feral demon has been seen lurking in the shadows of Aekea. Last seen harassing merchants in the Tattoo shop, demanding that they provide a larger selection of body art designs.
Merchants in Barton have reported being dive-bombed by a flashy garbed feral demon. Last seen darting in and out of the Barton Boutique and making off with an array of fantasy costumes.
Strange noises have been coming from the Winiko warehouse during odd times of the day (and night). This, in itself is not unusual, but there are reports of missing candy and cookies. It is suspected that there is a feral demon stalking the Sully Office Box looking for leftover Cadbury eggs.
Has been seen lurking around Isle De Gambino. It is reported that the smell of gold has attracted this feral demon to winning gamblers as they leave the casinos. There have been reports of purse snatching by a green blur. Watch your pockets!
Deliveries have been reported missing at the Port of Gambino. A finned demon has been seen lurking among the cargo crates. There have also been reports of a demon leaping out at unsuspecting pedestrians and head butting them into the waves under the docks. Be wary of walking through this area if you can’t swim.
This floating fuzzy feral has been seen snooping around forgotten and discarded plushies. You can usually find her by following the trail of dropped plushies as she tries to carry them all to a secret lair. It is not wise to approach this feral demon, she does not share.
To win a chance to claim one of these feral demons, write a story about summoning an unbonded demon. Minimum 500 words.
You may enter for a maximum of three unbonded demons, but you may only win one.
Please post all your entries in one post. You may edit and add additional entries to your post until the close of the contest.

Marty was never much of a gambler, but after an especially good day, he decided to test his luck. His leather shoes clicked on the flagstone as he made his way around the Isle De Gambino, a small purse in his pocket. Seemingly out of nowhere something gave him a gentle shove in the back. Startled, Marty whipped around to face none other than his good friend, Miranda.
“ Better watch out,” Miranda taunted, “ the green blur has mercy for no man’s gold.” Marty rolled his eyes. Miranda always had a dramatic streak, but the recent robberies from a demon made the drama increase, ten-fold. “Lets go!” Marty said, as they found their way to a black jack table. Several rounds later, Miranda was out of chips and Marty decided to play it safe and take what meager winnings he managed to amass. No sense in pushing his luck. As they left into the cool evening air, they parted ways. Miranda only had a jog to her house, but Marty had a ways to go through the grove and onto the beach.
Marty set out at a slow plod, the click of his shoes keeping him company. He rolled over what food he was going to buy for the next day. Beans, rice, chicken….no wait! He had some extra gold from his recent success. Amending the list he started afresh, mangoes, cake, ribs! But his newfound joy at his food exploits were cut short. He was shoved on his left shoulder. “Miranda!” he blurted, but when he turned no one was there.
Crash! In the blink of an eye, Marty was flat on his face. A green and pink face looked down upon him, took his gold, and before he could catch it, dashed away. Simon had been right, it was the green blur. Furious he got up. He could take the loss, it wasn’t much in way of coin, but he wasn’t going to let it simply get away and lurk in the forest again. That was hardly safe for anyone. The only illogical option was to catch it, so that is precisely what he set out to do.
His sister had studied the demons when she was a scientist with Labworks Corp and he was at least somewhat familiar with the topic. Her old notebooks littered her basement, mostly collecting dust. Although she had moved on with research to something less dangerous, she could never seem to part with her old notebooks. He poured over the old pages, now yellow from sitting in cardboard boxes. She had bound several demons in the past, and as much as she tried to bind the rouge demons, she never made much of a dent in their numbers. It was his turn to prevent any further hassles from this unruly creature. He gathered the supplies, a drop of blood on an amulet, the borrowed notebook, and some gold coins.
Marty knew that the demon had been following people through the woods, especially those with a bit of gold in their pockets. He had confirmed the stories himself. Not wanting to make himself a target, he set a few gold coins at irregular intervals down a deer trail towards an opening. Drawing a magic circle in the dirt, he covered it with a few leaves and laid in wait. The remaining gold and the old stuff he found in the basement sat dead center of the circle. As he sat in the cool air, he heard a few tentative footsteps approach. Through the branches he saw the creature, almost as tall as a lion with green skin and an orange flowing mane. It pawed at the gold, looked around, and then poked around some more. It seemed satisfied that no one was around. Marty took out a slip of paper and copied some runes onto it from the notebook. He knew it was part of the summoning, though honestly he could only write it. His grasp of what it said was paraphrased at best. He opened the amulet and placed the paper inside, accidentally cutting himself on the edge. He wiped it off on the back of the paper, closed the lid, and tossed the amulet onto the demon’s horns. The demon jerked around. Whatever was written on the paper was working. A bright flash emitted from the back of the amulet and a few minutes later, the creature stood still, looking straight at him.
The creature seemed resigned to its new fate. It didn’t charge him, growl, nor did it glare. It just looked at him, defeated. Perhaps it knew that its time terrorizing gamblers was never going to be forever, since it wasn’t all that surprised. Marty took a startled step back. This would take some getting used to.
Gaia Name:AnimeOtakuOnline Case File #:#382 Demon Name:Watermelon RP entry:
Hearing about the strangle occurrences concerning disappearing cargo, Kenma went over to investigate. He didn’t really know what he was looking for, but he did hear the rumors of something “pink, green, and the size of a grown man”. That did not concern Kenma one bit, for he was the adventurous kind always seeking for thrills in life. He wasn’t like this until he family died one disastrous day, but now that’s just the way he is. So he somehow got himself hired into this big mystery. A cargo man was looking to transport some goods, but needed protection. This is where Kenma came in. He was going to protect the cargo for some cash, sounded easy to Kenma.
But it wasn’t. It was dark, and Kenma was tired from his long day looking for work. He had figured it’d be just one night, but no after a successful night the man offered more money for him to work the next night. Kenma was kind of broke too, so he had to take it. Now it was really wearing him down. How many days had it been? A ween, 7 days, and he still hasn’t seen a sign of the “strange demon”. He was starting to believe this was a practical prank. ‘Well go figures, I get myself into a stupid prank,’ thinking that, he decided it wouldn’t matter if he just fell asleep. No one would care. So that’s exactly what he did.
That didn’t work out in his favor. At around 2, he heard some shuffling and decided to wake up so his boss wouldn’t see him sleeping. When he saw that cargo man again, he was going to be mad. He stayed up for a week believing his stupid joke! Ugh, then he saw something green….and pink. He knew what he was looking at now! It was the “demon” as the people called it. It had brown hair and was only a little shorter than him. Just as the towns people had described it, it was green, pink and white. Kenma kind of gasped when he saw it. He was not prepared in anyway. His first thought was to fight it, but a quick look at its claws changed his mind. The demon didn’t attack him, nor did he attack it. They just looked at each other. The look it was giving him reminded him of some time back then, a painful memory he never wanted to remember again.
He had just lost his family…again. Why did this happen? Why him? The fire engulfed his house, his family, his life, his happiness, it destroyed everything that had kept him up. He was enraged. Why did this happen to him and not some other person. He never did any bad. He just…did whatever he could. His family wasn’t well off to begin with. This world wasn’t fair.
The same pain reflected in the demon’s eyes, as if to say, “HELP ME!!!” He knew what it was like to be forgotten, to lose everything you had, and so the next day he searched up a way to help her and help her he did.

Gaia Name:Lural Case File #:126 Demon Name:Psyche RP entry:
There had been a lot of commotion in Aekea lately. Strange noises, voices even, at the tattoo parlor. Normally, Harpa wouldn't have paid it any mind, but the reports of strange things happened so frequently, that the Valkyrie wini was sure it was a lost soul. Her idiot mate, Kodran, was not likely to be any help, so she slipped away by herself to check it out.
At first, nothing seemed amiss. The shop was a little... quiet for a Friday evening... But that could have been because of the rumors. The demon was rather glad that she couldn't be seen by most humans, so she could easily walk around without people pointing and screaming. She pushed the door to the tattoo parlor open and looked around. There was a man at the far end, and he shuddered when the door opened and looked around. "I feel it has returned... or maybe... no, this is different. There is another one."
"You're ******** crazy." Came a woman's voice. Clearly, the male could sense their kind, and the female didn't give a rats a**. Well, things could be worse. Suddenly, a stack of papers went flying off the counter.
"THESE ARE GARBAGE!" A white and purple wini appeared and paced along the long counter, knocking over whatever struck her fancy at that moment. "Trash, rubbish, JUNK!" She swiped her paw and knocked a binder onto the floor. The proprietors of the shop both jumped.
"Stop throwing things!"
"It's not me! I'm working!"
"Bullshit!"
Harpa rolled her eyes and looked at the other female. The strange demon stared back, before a wicked grin spread across her face. "I bet humans are delicious. They must pop like balloons." Her thoughts seemed disjointed, but she was clearly talking to Harpa.
"You are lost. Where is your human?" The Valkyrie asked as gently as she could.
"I've got no strings to hold me down." Came the reply, before the demon jumped off the counter and started walking towards the door. "This place is boring, they need more art. Ink is all the rage." She said before walking out. Harpa scowled. This didn't bode well. That demon was unstable. She would likely cause a lot more trouble before eventually wasting away. Something had to be done.
Harpa couldn't outright kill the other demon, she hadn't done anything terribly wrong. Yet. So she would have to guide her in another way. When it came to bonding with demons, there was only one thing to do. It was time to bring in her human. She returned home, pondering how to tell her human they needed to bring in another demon. Lural could tell there was something bothering the large Valkyrie as she lounged on the floor, staring intently at the TV without a word. Finally, Lural sighed.
"Harpa, would you like me to turn the TV on?" The redhead tried not to chuckle.
"No. Human, are you capable of creating...an amulet?" Harpa asked instead.
"Amulet? Well, I suppose it depends on what you want. I'm not good with metal, but it paper and glitter is ok-" she stopped when Harpa turned her head to glare at her. "...you're talking about an amulet for your kind, aren't you?"
"Yes." Came the curt reply.
"Well, I could probably whip something up. Get some sticks and leather strings... Why do you ask?"
"I need you to make one for me."
"Well, alright. But I don't think I have anything to make a tassel with though." Lural thought about what she had available.
"We will go shopping tomorrow. Make what you can tonight." Harpa stood then and left the room. Lural had a bad feeling about this. Harpa was always a little severe, but she had good intentions. And she wasn't suggesting they do anything crazy with it. Not to mention that she wasn't Marz or Johai. So she probably had something noble in mind. Lural made a faux amulet that night.
The next day, Harpa all but dragged Lural out of the house and to Aekea. "There aren't any good craft stores here." she sighed. Harpa said nothing as they headed towards the tattoo parlor. "Uh, Harpa? Sweetie? I'm not getting a tattoo, and neither are you."
"We are not here for tattoos. If you would, have the amulet ready." The Valkyrie instructed before pushing open the shop door. Lural didn't even think they were open this early...
And then she heard commotion inside. It sounded like two very large cats fighting. Perhaps it was foolish, but Lural ran into the tattoo parlor, knowing the sounds of demons fighting. Sure enough, Harpa was scraping with an unknown wini. The Valkyrie took a swipe at the other female's face, catching her mane and ripping a lock of blue fur our.
"Attach that to the amulet." Harpa barked the order while keeping the demon busy. Ok, Lural really didn't like the looks of this... but she had seen it before. This demon had been abandoned. Summoned, somehow, to the human realm, and then forgotten. Sakit had been the same. She steeled herself, not about to let the poor demon suffer and then die... or... whatever it was that happened to unbound demons. She tied the lock of hair to the amulet. Now it looked right. A little... off, because you could see the hot glue in a couple places, but over all, not bad for a rushed craft project. "Human, I'm sure by now you know what to do with that thing!" And she was right. Lural had been through this 47 times before.
Pulling a swiss army knife from her pocket, Lural quickly cut her finger and smeared the blood on the amulet. Would this work? Was this really the right way to...
Her thoughts trailed off as the two winiko stopped fighting and stared at each other, hackles raised. Then the strange demon tore her gaze away to look at Lural. She let out a yowl of irritation before rushing past the human and crashed through the door.
"Holy balls, that actually worked?" She let out a breath she'd been holding.
"Yes. I am pretty sure it did. That demon lost the desire to fight with me when we became bound to the same person. I am not sure how she will take to being bound, however." Harpa sat on her haunches to clean herself up a little. Lural shook her head.
"You just wanted to save her, didn't you?" Harpa said nothing, but turned her head away and tried to tame the wild strands of her mane. "Well, she won't be too far. I assume she will find her way to the house soon enough. You did a wonderful thing, Harpa."
"I only guided a lost soul. That's all." she shook herself out, then walked past Lural and out the door.

Gaia Name:CascadingRayn Case File #:#383 Demon Name:Lilia RP entry:
Now she would never go to a plushie shop, ever. Amaya was too old for that stuff, at least that’s what she thought. But that’s exactly where she found herself one Saturday morning, a plushie store, full of plushies and children. At the request of her friend, Amaya had come here just to “look at some plushies”. That wasn’t what happened. Her friend was just addicted to these furry little animals. The thing wrong with this was…Amaya totally loved these things. They were just too cute! How could anyone hate them? Little furry animals looking at you with their beady eyes. Amaya. Just. Loved. Them. She wanted to hug them. All these little plushies were too cute and each one must be loved. Even after Amaya had picked one she loved, bought it, her friend still wasn’t done.
Amaya was getting hungry. Her choice to not eat breakfast that day was starting to look like a bad decision. Her stomach growled and demanded food. Amaya told her she was going to get some food and would be back so her friend just nodded and went back to looking at plushies.
Amaya started walking in around looking for a place to get some food. The Autumn breeze tossed her hair around. She loved Autumn. The leaves flew in the air and better yet they were all sorts of colors. It kind of reminded her of the assortment of plushies in the shop, getting passed from hand to hand. As she stopped by a café and bought something to eat, she heard some yelling in the direction of the shop. That sounded like a kid having a fuss over stuff animals. To Amaya it couldn’t be a big problem at all.
BANG! Err, that did not sound right to Amaya. She actually started running toward the sound, which just happened so to be the plushie shop. Standing in the doorway was a demon, a really mad demon. Ok, that was really unexpected for Amaya. She practically jumped 5 feet into the air. She knew about demons because of her friend’s (another friend, not tattoo friend) addiction to them. At the time she just wished they would shut up, now she was glad they had ranted to her all about these wonderful beasts. They had even given her a charm amulet thing which went around the demon’s neck? The demon was quite large, so Amaya wasn’t sure how she was just going to casually slip an amulet on its neck, but it was worth a try. Amaya tiptoed toward the demon, but it just happened so it turned around, and Amaya went flying out the door. Who knew such a soft looking demon could be so rough? The demon took some plushies and charged out of the store, dropping some plushies on the way.
Amaya followed the trail cautiously. It ended at a cave stuffed, really stuffed, with plushies. ‘I guess this is what’s been all over the web,’ Amaya thought. All of the disappearing plushies were here. When the demon’s back was turned, Amaya threw the amulet around its neck. The demon looked at her with eye that could kill, but just shrugged and went back to its plushies. She didn't mind as long as she got her plushies.

Gaia Name:Elaisa_Angelic Case File #:309 Demon Name:Arabella RP entry:
Oh yes, this had been an altogether great day. Rhea thought to herself as she calmly strolls out of a nice up scale boutique in downtown Barton. The Diva Demoness had woken up on the wrong side of ..... well everything this morning. Totally understandable of course with one of those style blind wraiks she lived with using her favorite scarf as a Napkin, right in front of her at the breakfast table! She still huffed angrily thinking about it, after all the item had been ruined and she had burned it in the fireplace in her rage.
But by now the spontaneous shopping spree Rhea had treated herself to had mostly done its job and lifted her spirits. Had she spend way to much money on new items? Well yes, but then that was her humans problem not hers. Had she left a few store attendees overworked, stressed out and possibly in tears? Of course! But that was their own fault for not giving her the attention she deserved.
With a wicked smile on her face she turned left and started on her way home. As she walked she looked in the store windows she passed, already on the lookout for a next stylish Item to wear. as she stopped to look at a hat in a display window it happened ...... a blur of colour hit her like a brick, and she fell to the ground. her little bags of stuff flying from her claw.
"Stop that little flying Creature!! she took 2 dresses!" The angry calls came closer as Rhea got back up, and slowly dusted herself off. She made no move to stop the little creature .... 2 dresses? come on that was so not her problem. As the creature disappeared chased by some screaming human, Rhea looked around and collected her bags off the floor 1 ....2 ......3 ....4.....4...Wait a moment where was little bag number 4!? No Way, That little thing, she didn't ....... Oh but she did!! Without thinking about it even half a second Rhea started running in the direction the little flying creature had vanished.
It took her a while, Heck the human had given up looking about 5 blocks back. But Rhea Was not going home without her bag of stuff. she had caught sight of the little colourfull demon a few times as she flew round a corner or over a fence. But the creature must be getting tired, because for the last 2 streets Rhea had been finding little clue's. A dropped button here, a lost ribbon there, and now it had all led to an old abandoned warehouse. And by now Rhea was totally ready to face the little thief!
Without making a sound she stepped into the warehouse, and started looking for the little demon. After a while she thought she must have been wrong, there didn't seem to be anyone here. Just about to leave she heard it though ... someone was whistling a happy tune! Following the sound she found a staircase hidden behind a curtain that she had missed before and started sneaking up.
When she peeked over the top of the stairs she did a double take. at the top was a small attic room, completely littered with clothes, accessories, purfume bottles & one old slightly cracked tall mirror standing in the middle. And that was where the little colourfull creature was, whisling to herself holding up a dress and twirling happily.
Rhea jumped forward "Hey you! what did you do to my bag? Give it back right now!" The little demon made a startled sound, dropped the dress and hid behind the standing mirror. Rhea looked around but did not see her stuff. "I.... I.... I'm sorry. I must have picked up your bag by mistake" a small voice from the mirror told her. "Well you say that... but with all this stuff here ...... I'm having a bit of a hard time believing it was an accident!" Rhea bit back, taking 2 steps forward and pushing the mirror over so the creature had to scitter out and into the shadow in the corner.
It was silent for a moment, and then the little colourfull demon came forward carefully, holding Rhea's missing bag out to her "Well those items are different..... they were sad in the stores! they had been in the windows for ages and nobody was trying them on or buying them! I like them.... and I promise I'll use them! ...... do I have to give them back? I should give them back right?" Rhea took her own bag back, and then looked around "Uhm your kidding right, stealing is tacky! you should totally bring it all ....." she stopped talking as her eye fell on a scarf... just like her favorite one...and a really stunning pair of gloves "Well, maybe you don't have to take it all back... I mean those are stunning...would you mind if I just quickly...." She set the mirror back upright, picked up the gloves and tried them on "Oh these are great!"
The little demon jumped into a pile of cloth and then came over to stand next to her "Those gloves look great with this bracelet" she pointed at another pile "And the sunglasses over there." Rhea wanted to roll her eyes and begin one of her fashion rants about how items should be paired, but then she realised ..... the little darling was right! those things would look utterly adorable paired up together!! She giggled and looked at the colourfull mini "Very true... they would. so who are you anyways?"
Encouraged by Rhea's words the colourfull demon smiled "My name is Arabella, and I love pretty clothing." she picked up a dress carefully placed near the wall "This is my favorite...." Rhea looked at the dress and nodded, that would look good on the other demons little frame "That is a great dress, nice to meet you I'm Rhea, and I think you should pair that with that stunning little necklace over there, It would be so cute on you!"
Arabella agreed, and before they both knew it they were digging around the piles, putting together fun little outfits for each other and trying on all the various items Arabella had collected in her little attic room. By the end they were even doing short catwalk walks to show the clothing off and laughing at combinations of clothing that totally didn't work together! Looking out of the window Rhea startled as she noticed it had gone completely dark outside, it had to be late! She sighed "Well if we want to bring these all back before the shops open in the morning we should start packing it all up." Arabella's face fell, but she nodded and started putting her whole collection into bags sorted for each store.
Putting the last bracelet into a bag Rhea smiled, she didn't make new friends often, and certainly not with such good fashion sense! So she had a plan! Walking over to Arabella she whispered something into her ear that made the little demon light up. "And if that doesn't work you can always come to my place, I have some outfits that would look swesome on you!"
The next morning before the Barton stores opened for trade each owner had a bag waiting for him or her filled with all the missing items, most of which were quickly placed back on display ..... Now if later that day a certain high maintenance blue demon showed up with a creditcard to buy all those items ... And a few more... No one really had a problem with that.
Would the human be angry that Rhea had taken her creditcard and spend even more money? Oh well Probably..... Were the other demons in the house annoyed about another fashion crazy demon moving into the large attic room? Possibly...... Would Rhea and her new best friend Arabella care about any of that? Of Course Not!!
Gaia Name:Tellah Amna Case File #:352 Demon Name:Sweetheart RP entry:
Tellah knew that she was a bit absent-minded at times- but leaving an entire bag of Peanut Butter cups behind at some point while she had been wandering around that day was something altogether new. It wasn't like it had even been a -small- bag of candy- it was one of those big ones, the ones they started selling earlier and earlier every year that were supposed to be for Trick or Treaters. 'Supposed' to be. It was September, after all- if she was saving someone else from getting stale Halloween candy, well, she was doing people a service and deserved all the chocolate she could stuff in her face. ...if she hadn't left it behind somewhere, anyway. She had started from the beginning of her day and traced her path backwards, thinking the whole time that with all this exercise she -really- deserved that extra candy once she finally found it again... Nevermind that she could replace the bag easily- it was just a couple of dollars. No, really, it wasn't entirely about candy by the time she arrived at the warehouse she had passed by earlier. It was about pride at this point- pride and not entirely admitting that she really should just get herself a nice shoulder bag or something so things like this would stop happening. When she heard something -alive- and grumbling in the warehouse, though... Tellah had the distinct change of heart that made her question whether looking for her lost candy was really the best idea. Those couple of dollars seemed just -that- less important and her pride seemed -this- much less hurt. She shook her head- it wasn't thrift or pride that won out in the end and made her enter the warehouse, but rather her sore feet. If she had some kind of terrifying encounter, she reasoned, it was an excuse she could use to go home... Her shoe squished into something before she had entirely entered the place and she ducked down with a grumble. Her nose wrinkled as she saw, in the dim lighting, that whatever she was stepping in was brown, but let out a sigh when she also saw foil and smelled... chocolate peanut butter. It could have been worse, really- but why would a candy be laying on the ground sort of... half-eaten and extra-squishy? The warehouse was cool, so it couldn't have been melted. Continuing on, she could hear... rustling and grumbling coming from further in the darkness. Flipping on the flashlight function from her cellphone, she shined it towards the noise... Tellah had found her candy. Tellah had also found a large creature that had mauled the plastic bag open and who was grumbling and pawing through the bag, seemingly mildly discontent with the whole business. He chewed on something while flicking claws around in the bag idly, as though he'd given up on finding exactly what he wanted, but held onto some hope whatever it was had somehow hidden itself at the bottom of the bag. Tellah made a noise, causing the Wraik to freeze, all four eyes swiveling to meet her's. Idly, he stopped chewing and spat a wad of mostly-peanut butter and foil at her feet contemptuously. Tellah was not known for making good decisions, but... with her candy clearly out of reach- she just might have been pondering the thought of taking something else home instead... Later that evening, with her wallet out more than a few dollars and her bed occupied by a large creature asleep on a pile of discount candy bags, Tellah surfed the internet for some place to find out where someone could order Cadbury Cream Eggs when it was nowhere near Easter. She sighed- it probably would have been much easier to have just replaced her candy bag after all.

Gaia Name:Sinbari Case File #:382 Demon Name:Lucera RP entry:
Sinbari was no stranger to the Gambino port. Or most ports for that matter, though some were a bit more friendly towards those of the....."freelancer" persuasion than others. The pirate had always made a point not to bother any ports in his career, sticking to ships in the sea, just for that reason though. It was hard to get supplies and offload goods when no one was happy to see you. So despite his occupation, he still tended to get decent enough receptions at most locations. Not to mention, when one had been sailing as long as he had, there tended to be plenty of contacts and "friends" in most places.
So as soon as his ship was properly docked, the gangplank dropped, and his crew started to bring cargo off of the ship, he was almost immediately signaled by an acquaintance standing off to the side, who had been at the pier and recognized his ship coming in. He was quick to inform Sin of the shenanigans that had been happening lately, in much detail for such a short exchange, and after a brief nod, frown and a 'tip' for the info from Sin, the man melted back into the crowd and was gone. Well, this was going to be an interesting visit, the pirate mused to himself.
He was quick to inform his crew, and having a good idea of what to expect, especially of his knowledge of demons, decided to set up a trap for the demon that evening. It wasn't good for business to have something like this going on -- it wasn't just that he was concerned for his own cargo, but it might keep other potential business away from the usually highly-active port. They made sure to set up a spot with some cargo crates (empty of course), that seemed a very easy to access location, as well as a prime spot to knock any unaware passerby off the docks. Hopefully the combination of the two apparently favored past-times of the demon would lure it in. Then Sin had his crew deter anyone from heading down this particular pier, to keep it secluded, before positioning himself a ways down from the trap to wait. It took a while, but he eventually saw movement, as well, it was difficult for such a bright demon to hide at night out in the open. The pirate saw her scoot to the cargo after a furtive glance around, and paw at the crates, and gave it a moment before donning a hooded cloak and meandering down in her direction, stooping over a bit and keeping a slow pace to be a prime target.
Sure enough, he saw out of the corner of his vision her darting between the crates once she had noticed someone coming, and lowering herself a bit. But at the moment when she ran out to ram him, Sin deftly spun on his heel to the side, and held out a foot to simply trip her. There was a shriek of surprise, as the Koi lost her balance and fell into the waters herself with a resounding splash. Sinbari grinned and pulled back the hood to chuckle a bit before peering over the edge. "Not so much fun when it's you is it?" he asks her.
The Winiko, being aquatic, was quick to re-orient herself in the water, and scowled up at the one-eyed pirate, who, she noticed, seemed part demon himself, with his horns. "I like the water just fine," she spouted at him, but after a huff, smirked a bit. "You're the first one to get the upper hand, though, I applaud you," she comments before clambering back onto the pier, where she proceeds to shake water all over him. "Perhaps you and I could make a good team hm?" she asks him.
Not even seeming phased by the water (it was nothing compared to storms at sea), he replied, "Hmm, maybe... so long as I get a say as to where trouble is caused. The whole point of finding loot is to not draw attention to yourself. Well, most of the time. Come on, maybe I can give you some pointers eh?" And with that he heads back to his ship, and after a brief pause, the demon shrugs and follows along.
